Ibis Dinant Centre

It’s 8mins drive up from the hotel to the citadel, the cafe overlooks the river so if you could, request for the facing along the river. We didn’t and I kinda regret that. The side facing the road can be a little noisy at night. The bed and shower is good. There is spare pillow which is standard sized. Towels are also provided but the others such as brush and combs do bring one set yourself. There is also no hot water flask. The reception is kind and helpful. The breakfast is amazing with attentive staff and the orange juice is freshly squeezed on the spot by a machine. It was too cold to sit alfresco but I would if the weather is a tad warmer. Parking on-site is limited but there are parking around the area free or charged. Just don’t park into the ****** or you would have trouble getting your car mentioned by the reception. Otherwise, another great restful night in a no frills hotel I would recommend. Thank you.

We were full of positive expectations by the warm and efficient reception for our 5 night stay when we arrived. We had booked a river view room. Sadly the room we had was a renovated room in the eves of the old building . The window had a view but more as a skylight and lacked light. The room was replaced on request. The staff in all departments are polite and try to accommodate the guests however, sadly, short staffing, lack of training and ineffective management results in frustrations and less than the promised quality stay. The lack of attention to detail in all areas: 1. Rooms - not properly cleaned each day . Bed Linen inside out, soap residue on shower walls from previous guests, coffee tray had sugar and spill marks from previous guests, splash marks on mirrors, toilet side not secure, finger marks on all doors, carpet not properly vacuumed, rubbish bin not emptied. The first morning we had no electricity. It wasn’t the room key. We waited a while for it to be sorted. 2. Room service- it’s took 3 phone calls to various departments to place an order. The food arrived promptly but not on a tray , no serving utensils or condiments. With only one chair in the room eating was done standing up by one of us because the plates used did not allow for eating on the bed. 3. Breakfast- there was only 1 person serving approximately 20 guests. So there was no possibility of setting tables , clearing and refilling the buffet . One coffee making machine for the whole restaurant . Self- service and taking about 2 minutes per cup meant that guests were lining up waiting for a while. We chose to eat breakfast outside the hotel there after. 4. No follow through despite requesting remediation of room challenges. After chasing up the duty manager in the evening ,a length discussion and a promise to resolve the issues, we returned to the hotel the next afternoon to nothing having been attended to. By then we were frustrated and embarrassed to have to complain once more. The initial response at the front desk was that it had nothing to do with them. I insisted on seeing the manager who confirmed having received an email from her counter part asking to resolve the problems in our room. No follow through, lack of delegation of duties . We felt abused and that as long as they had received prepayment that they could provide substandard service. The manager apologized yet again, went to see if our room was ready and cake to tell us that it was done. Once more ⅔ of the issues had not been attended too. The cleaner had to return to complete her work, the maintenance men arrived for the toilet. 5. We had invited friends and reserved a table for dinner for the Wednesday evening. Only to receive on email on the Monday the say that the planned music and dinner had been cancelled. 6. The last night we decided to have dinner in the restaurant. I called and booked a table and on arriving was informed that I had not done so. I insisted that they look and told them where were
Mercure HAN Sur Lesse

The hotel has a very convenient location if you are planning to visit the Grottes de Han and other related areas. Like 300 m walking distance. Very close to a street with restaurants. The rooms are clean and well maintained. They provide large towels and the kitchenette is clean and well equipped. In case you need something there is a mini market crossing the street. The pool is also very clean and everything is organized. Make sure to ask for the pool towels at the counter. The children enjoyed the pool. Very accesible. The breakfast has a wide variety of options. We all liked it. Make sure to reserve if you are planning to have lunch or dinner. They ran out of space quickly. You also have the room service option. And if you have a car you can drive to other areas and find more restaurants. Overall the place is very good for families. We will come back.

This hotel is the best and most spacious Ibis hotel I’ve been to. The decor is stylish and chic with well thought out amenities. Nice big room with comfortable beds and views. Breakfast buffet was simple but nice. Staff were helpful and friendly. My family and I are extremely happy with this hotel, I wish I’ve booked here for more than two nights.

My second stay. Quite convenient if we go by car to namur. A lot of furniture interior shop around (unexpected, but nice). 10 min to city center by car. There are a few bus from city with stop in front of hotel, but the frequency is like 1hr or more. Parking is great at the hotel. Room is good, chic and large. The bar is nice.

B&B Hotel Namur

I was looking for a Hotel close to the station, and i decided to give the B&B chain ago as i had not used them before. The Hotel is about 3 minutes walk from Namur station, caution they are undertaking alot of road works so the path is a little uneven. I was welcomed when i walked into the Hotel and checkin was very easy. The hotel use a code method for room access which is more environmental friendly than the plastic cards. The Hotel is very new and the interior is perfect and very clean, my room was on the 1st floor and the room was quiet and had a nice big shower. My sleep was perfect on the 2 evenings i stayed, Breakfast is very good with a hot and cold option and they have tea / coffee is always available. As a bonus if you dont need room service if you are staying for more than 1 day you get a free €5 voucher to use at the bar. I enjoyed my stay and i would certainly use again for future stays.

Grand Hotel de Flandre

Surprisingly comfortable rooms in this hotel literally across the street from the train station. Air con, mini bar, kettle - a bath! For the price, it was fantastic. Lost 1 star because while the reception staff were great, the cleaners (three of them, clearly without enough work to do) were chatting outside my door for well over one hour at 8am, which woke me up much earlier than I needed and really irritated me.
