On the positive side, the hotel has quite a few recreational facilities, and the room amenities are decent and relatively new. On the negative side, the biggest problem is the excessive dampness in the room. It was uncomfortable to sleep in, and although the hotel changed the bedding, it didn't help much. This might be due to the humid air during the rainy season in Xishuangbanna, but two things puzzled me: 1) The front desk said no one else had reported this issue before. 2) I stayed at three hotels during this trip, and Zhucheng was the third. The other two were right next to Zhucheng, and their rooms didn't feel noticeably damp. Also, the hotel room didn't pay enough attention to some details. The sofa arrangement prevented the curtains from closing completely automatically; I had to manually close them. The refrigerator was also quite noisy, which affected my sleep.

As we drove up from the city, the urban hustle and bustle slowly faded, replaced by lush greenery and the sound of pine trees swaying in the wind. 🌄 **The Rooftop is Pure Soul:** I was absolutely stunned the moment I stepped onto the rooftop – the nineteen peaks of Cangshan Mountain stood behind me like a majestic screen, with the entire Erhai Lake and scattered Bai ethnic villages stretching out below. The Three Pagodas of Chongsheng Temple were faintly visible. In the morning, drawing back the curtains revealed a sea of rolling clouds. In the evening, I'd sit on the swing chair on the terrace, watching the sunset paint Erhai Lake a honeyed gold 🍯. At night, a glance upwards showed the Milky Way so clearly it brought tears to my eyes ✨. 🌿 **Immersive Mountain Living:** Hydrangeas were in full bloom in the courtyard, and dappled sunlight filtered through the treetops onto the wooden floors. The natural wood-toned room had floor-to-ceiling windows on three sides, making it feel like sleeping right in the forest 🌲. There were also three resident cats, each with their own unique personality, taking turns on patrol. Staying in the Jacuzzi Villa was an absolute delight! The Naxi-style courtyard was elegant and peaceful, and the private, temperature-controlled Jacuzzi was clean and comfortable. Soaking under the stars at night melted away all my travel fatigue. I must commend Elin, our butler, for her outstanding service. From coordinating before our arrival to her attentive care during our stay, she was always quick to respond to any needs. She was thoughtful and professional, never intrusive, which truly enhanced the relaxing vacation vibe. The facilities were excellent, and the service was an added bonus – a perfect Lijiang getaway! Highly recommended!

The room was very clean, and the host was super friendly and helpful with luggage. There's also a Samoyed named Mitsu who is incredibly friendly; my kids absolutely adored her and couldn't bear to leave. The dog was very clean and well-behaved. Overall, the guesthouse was very quiet.

I had such a wonderful stay at Lisiman in Shangri-La, and honestly, it was much more than just a hotel stay. Even before my arrival, the Lisiman team had already created a dedicated WeChat housekeeping group and assigned me a one-to-one butler, Maike, to assist me with anything I needed throughout my stay. As someone travelling solo in China who basically only knew how to say “ni hao” and “xie xie,” this was incredibly helpful! 😆 The language barrier was never really an issue because whenever I needed something, I could simply send a message in the WeChat group and Maike would help or bring it over. The other housekeepers in the group were equally attentive. Alan, Maike would send reminders for breakfast, remind me to collect the complimentary soup, and make sure I didn’t miss the little experiences and benefits included with my stay. I was actually surprised by how many complimentary treats and services were included with the booking, together with the photoshoot. These thoughtful extras really added value and made me feel very well taken care of throughout my stay. Upon arrival, my room was randomly assigned among the cabin rooms and wasn’t the particular cabin with the wooden gate that I had been hoping for. Nevertheless, the room was beautiful and the view was already superb. I mentioned my preference to Maike, and this became one of the highlights of my stay — I received a complimentary upgrade to exactly the room I wanted! 🥹 I was so happy and genuinely grateful that they took my request seriously and made the effort to accommodate me. And then there is the location itself — absolutely breathtaking. Waking up surrounded by mountains and vast green grassland felt almost unreal. You don’t even need to rush out sightseeing because there is already so much to enjoy around the property. You can feed the animals, wander around the grassland, take beautiful photos, or simply sit and enjoy the scenery. There is also a lovely cabin café where you can relax while taking in the surroundings. What impressed me most was how Lisiman combines beautiful accommodation and incredible scenery with genuinely attentive hospitality. The team doesn’t just provide a room; they make sure you are comfortable and actually get to enjoy everything included in your stay. For an international solo traveller who speaks very little Chinese, I felt very comfortable and well looked after here. Thank you especially to Maike and all the housekeepers for making everything so easy for me. My only regret is that I stayed for just one night. I definitely should have stayed longer. ❤️ If I return to Shangri-La, Lisiman will absolutely be somewhere I would love to stay again.

During my time in Lijiang, this was the only hotel I was truly satisfied with. I was honestly so tired of those so-called 'owner-run' B&Bs where you pay good money but get no sense of service, feeling cramped like you're intruding in someone else's home. Hygiene: Everything was excellent. Environment: Remarkably good. Both the reception and the hotel's public areas are exceptionally spacious for the Old Town. A major plus is that it's just a five-minute walk along the main road from the parking lot. Many B&Bs in the Old Town, even those not cheap, are tucked away down winding alleys with cramped receptions and gardens. This place truly offers the facilities of a proper hotel. The garden is also beautifully maintained. All public areas are lovely, well-equipped, and there's even a play area for children. The complimentary travel photography service also had very kind staff. Service: Every staff member I encountered was excellent, from management to restaurant and front desk staff. They not only greeted me proactively but also offered enthusiastic help. I've already recommended it to all my friends planning to visit Lijiang. I hope the owner continues to have great business, and that both the pets and staff receive even better welfare and benefits.

Back in Dali, I decided to revisit the Xianyun 360-degree Cliff Seaview Hot Spring B&B, and it truly lived up to expectations! The front desk staff were incredibly polite and attentive. I later found out that the humble and helpful manager, who was always ready to assist, was also from Beijing, which made me feel right at home. The B&B's environment is serene and immaculate. The private hot spring pool in the room is definitely the highlight. Soaking in the hot spring, you're directly facing the Cangshan Mountains and Erhai Lake – it's like a landscape painting come to life. During my downtime, I loved sitting on the balcony, gazing at Cangshan and Erhai, which was incredibly therapeutic after a long journey. The restaurant's dishes were delicious and flavorful. My experience was as excellent as ever, truly a hidden gem of a seaview B&B. Choosing to stay here twice speaks volumes about its reliable quality. Returning to Dali from Jizu Mountain, I temporarily chose to stay at Jinsuo Island. I have been to Dali many times, and this is my first time on the island. This hotel is indeed the most satisfactory one. The room has an unbeatable sea view. You can see the sea and the sunrise while lying on the bed. The facilities are very smart and the hygiene is also very clean. Super cost-effective! The breakfast in the sea view restaurant is also a little surprise.

The staff were very enthusiastic; not only did they offer a complimentary welcome afternoon tea, but they also upgraded our room for free, which was such a pleasant surprise! Room View: From the soaking tub, we had an unbeatable view of the lake and distant mountains – absolutely stunning. Thoughtful Service: They provide a free shuttle service to and from Lijiang Ancient Town and Shuhe Ancient Town, making transportation incredibly convenient. Breakfast: The breakfast was an exquisite, aesthetically pleasing brunch plate, paired with fragrant coffee, making for a truly ritualistic experience. Design & Ambiance: The art space is filled with natural wood and woven bamboo elements, and there's a cozy tea room that's perfect for photos. Courtyard Environment: The outdoor garden is quiet and pleasant, surrounded by nature, ideal for relaxation. I will definitely choose this place again on my next visit to Lijiang!

I spontaneously changed my reservation from the Nan Hilton to the Sheraton City Center, mainly because of its convenient location and easy access to transportation. The bustling commercial area downstairs offers plenty of dining options, and the hotel is relatively new, built in 2025. As it's in the city center, the rooms aren't as spacious as the Sheraton in Dali, but it's well-equipped despite its smaller size. Since we were three adults and one child, I discussed it with the front desk, and they kindly provided an extra adult's breakfast, which significantly enhanced our experience. We only stayed one night, so we didn't use the self-service laundry, but I've used it at the Dali Sheraton, and it's very convenient. If I visit Kunming again in the future, I'll definitely choose the Sheraton. Upon check-in, we received welcome fruits and drinks, and bottled water was available in the elevator lobby for guests to take freely, which was a nice and convenient touch. The hotel also has a well-equipped gym. The staff were not overly enthusiastic but maintained an appropriate distance, which was perfect for someone like me. My child was reluctant to leave and said they wanted to come back.
