The room was clean and the single beds were absolutely huge. I made a mistake with my booking, but the hotel was incredibly helpful and very accommodating in making the necessary changes for me. The location is good and the walk from the airport arrivals hall is short, but the route was a bit confusing—the signs could have been larger or placed more frequently along the way. Another minor downside was the bathroom shower, which was a bit impractical as water easily ended up all over the floor. Overall, the great service made it a very nice stay!

Very surprised by this hotel as my partner had stayed here a few years back and wasn’ti pressed… but this time, from start to finish, a really pleasant stay. Lady on reception (early evening of 10th April) was an absolute delight. So helpful and so friendly. We had two dogs with us and she told us all the areas the dogs could go and that they could even have breakfast with us if we sat in a certain place. It’s not often you get treated like that when you have dogs… more so seen as a hindrance. The room was very clean and bright. Pillows a bit hard but that’s down to preference. Shower was great, very powerful with shampoo, conditioner and show gel complimentary! Breakfast was fantastic. A lot of choice and good quality. All in all, a great stay.

The hotel's location is superb, just a five-minute walk from the airport. The room type we were assigned was a bit odd, in a corner with no view of the runway. However, it was quite spacious; I could easily open my 30-inch suitcase and still move around comfortably without feeling cramped. For this price, this amount of space, plus such flexible cancellation terms and breakfast included, you'd be hard-pressed to find a better deal getting into London city. Breakfast was an English buffet, and it was tasty, with gluten-free options available. I'd recommend it to anyone landing at STN!

Visited this hotel for 5 days stay , room was lovely and big ,lovely shower, black out curtains, beautiful super king size bed , breakfast was worth the money , unfortunately the main meal was a big disappointment as very expensive for little amount and very tasteless , parking was good , lots of parking spaces , only down fall about the parking location there is only one entrance to the main building, one way in and one way out and you have to pay 10 pound a night very disappointed in parking and main meal , overall staff friendly, clean,  nice stay

I had a really terrible experience staying at holiday inn this time. My room was very noisy and I couldn’t sleep because of the noises coming from the air conditioning. It sounded like leaking tap or water coming down from the drain, it started around half twelve and wouldn’t stop until the morning. I got woken up by the noise at mid night and it was really loud and unbearable, there’s no phone in the room so I couldn’t call the reception. Anyway I paid so much to have a decent room to sleep before my flight. I was really disappointed of the room I got.

Location very good for a night stay. Bteakfast good too. Comfy bed and clean room but temperature in the room in this hot weather is very poor. Room hot despite it has centralised aircon, set on 18 degrees but its 21 all through the night so we have uncomfortable sleep. We had a meal but its really really bad. FISH AND CHIPS obviously frozen and tasted funny so sent it back. Pepperoni Pizza tastless and doughy (sent back again) and pork scnitzel has no taste as well. Had a refund with 1 meal. It cost £19 each meal without drinks. I think a take away or food delivery will taste much better and will be cheaper than their food. Drinks cost £7 a pint. (Weve done it before). Its only convinient as near Stansted Airport with parking and shuttle available for £4 each way per person. Stayed July 14-15,.2026

We had a good stay although our sleep was disrupted as we could not turn off the air con we tried numerous things numerous times and it would not turn off it was loud and kept us awake. Breakfast was OK although no real vegetarian options such as veggie/vegan sausages etc and had to wait a while for things to be topped up. Restaurant was nice however and staff were friendly.

I booked a last minute night away with the children: afternoon tea followed by an overnight. The afternoon tea was delicious and I was really well catered for as a vegan diner. The Grand Hall was a beautiful setting for afternoon tea. The children also loved their food - the sandwiches were much simpler for the children and they got seconds based on how delicious they were. Our room was large and had a sofa bed and a cot bed. We enjoyed playing in the grounds including the play area, outdoor chess, boules, the scavenger hunt and the fitness trail. My son also loved playing football in the garden - he was excited that there were goals set up. We had dinner in The Fox Bar and had drinks and played cards in the Grand Hall afterwards. Breakfast the next morning was delicious. We were really excited to find newts in the pond. They would love to stay again. I would love to come for an overnight with my partner to experience it differently without the children.

Hotel was close to Colchester Station which was a bonus as my friend and I just needed to bed down for the night. Staff were friendly and welcoming but not always available. We had a curry next door as they recommended the food and it was good. Room was ok but noisy from the traffic in the morning outside the front of the hotel. Decor and furnishings somewhat dated but just about comfortable enough. Maintenance needs attention. Minor issues such as hairdryer not fixed properly to the wall and no option to switch shower head as the lever was missing. However phone didn't work when I called Reception several times on hearing the fire alarm sound. Turned out to be a false alarm but couldn't be too complacent. Tried the stairwell and was thankful that the exit and side door were accessible, unlike the main front door which had a set of keys dangling from it and was only unlocked when we left in search of breakfast. Overall mixed review.
