A truly traditional and sophisticated stay at the Jockey Club Rooms. Our deluxe room overlooked the beautifully kept gardens, and the interiors — especially the Colefax & Fowler fabrics — felt timeless and elegant. The bathroom was enormous, almost larger than the bedroom, and the whole property is filled with classic equestrian art and heritage charm.
We enjoyed champagne in the private members’ bar, a rare privilege for overnight guests, and breakfast was exceptional — from eggs Benedict to eggs Royal, kippers, pancakes and more, all served in a grand dining room. Easily the best hotel breakfast I’ve had.
The atmosphere is old‑world English tradition at surprisingly accessible prices, with free parking and a perfect High Street location. Ideal for visiting Cambridge or Suffolk — and we loved being able to stroll to Thai Kitchen for dinner.
Highly recommended for anyone seeking comfort, history, and understated luxury - all for the price of a room in the Premier inn!"

I would like to make a complaint regarding the cleanliness and housekeeping standards of my room at your B&B Hotel.
After the room had supposedly been cleaned, I noticed that the bed linen had not been changed. There were still visible stains on the bed sheet, and I also found several hairs on the bed. This gave me the clear impression that the bedding had not been replaced before my stay, which is unacceptable and raises serious concerns about hygiene.
From what I could see, the only cleaning that had been done was vacuuming the floor, cleaning the sink, and wiping the table. However, the most important part of preparing the room for a new guest – providing clean, freshly changed bed linen – was not done.
I have attached photos showing the stains on the bed sheet and the hairs left on the bedding. These clearly demonstrate the poor standard of cleanliness in the room.
I am very disappointed with this experience, as it does not meet the level of cleanliness and hygiene that guests should reasonably expect from a hotel. I would appreciate an explanation as to why the bed linen was not changed and would like this matter to be investigated and resolved appropriately.

GGuest UserQuite a wacky, quirky hotel- which we love! The main hotel is unique and fab, but the rooms are tired and outdated and could be cleaned to a higher standard. The tap water is not drinkable, so more drinking water also needs to be provided and accessible in double and twin rooms- one bottle for two people is not enough. When phoning reception to request two bottles of water, we were still only given one and the empty bottle we had was also weirdly and awkwardly requested and collected at our door first, before we were allowed more water, which was then bought separately and left outside the room? Just a little odd when they have to provide drinking water. A great location hotel though and we actually love the extravagant, crazy style of the main hotel and have been back 3 times and would stay again when in the area for work. You have to see it to believe it!

I did boil the ketrle.and that just before leaving . Dr otteker i added as the water cam be dubiiois .the demand for this water is high so i add a cleaner and i passed the water via a brita style filter .

GGuest UserA very foggy cold night after a busy day it was nice to be welcomed by a friendly and informative receptionist. One nights stay room with small balcony overlooking the golf course and an incredible heater. Water pressure in shower is low but water hot
The rooms feel they would benefit from being updated a few ******* . *TV remote didn't turn TV off had to get up and pop hand behind set and turn off at socket. **The hair on the bath definitely not mine! **No obvious hairdryer. ***Room Service called twice extn not answered went via reception transferred to the bar salmon cream cheese on brown ordered arrived quickly unfortunately on white bread. Pink G&T delicious. Breakfast. Warm welcome and explanation offered from team. Great variety and the hot food was hot. **** The team brief at the bar perhaps could have been carried out elsewhere. Checkout painless.

GGuest UserWe have been doing our motorcycle training here in Ipswich so have stayed at the Novotel for two weekends now. The staff have been so friendly and accommodating - we’ve really enjoyed the stay. Having a bath in the room has also been a treat. The rooms are well maintained, clean and very comfortable. We’ve enjoyed the pool table and the bar. We’re looking forward to coming back again. The hotel is also very conveniently located.

GGuest UserImpressive old Mill with working wheel featured inside. We were in the top floor of the main building and whilst not the most up to date bedroom accommodation it was clean and comfortable with workable facilities. Really friendly and helpful staff and great breakfast buffet with both continental and full English breakfast options. Would definitely recommend and worked for us due to location to friends and family. Great value for money.

GGuest UserWe stayed at hotel whilst having work done in our house.We like the hotel as can take the dog with us. The room we had is in a courtyard, so ground level. A good size room for 2 and a dog. We didnt use too many of hotel facilities as we were trying keep cost down. We have used restaurant and bar before. Enjoyed food. See below for roast dinner had on previous visit. Afternoon tea was really nice. Good patjing facilities but there is some major roadworks near by. We declined to have any housekeeping and got 2 free drinks. Nice grounds and would imagine lovely in summer. Air con now in rooms. A little update of bathroom wouldn't hurt. Seal to show mouldy. Taps, plugs worn. Also cant make out picture content in room 32. Needs to be reviewed!!

Great location, very comfortable and clean, great breakfasts, plenty of lounge space.
My only quibble was that hotel didn't really seem geared up for dinners/lunches, maybe there is less demand for these nowadays. In the past the main dining room has been used and it was more formal/smarter.

GGuest UserFriendly and welcoming . You go in through the pub, I was a bit wary at first as there were obviously locals but they and the staff are welcoming .
I can really recommend the food it was proper hearty home cooked style and portions were brilliant.
We stopped in a pod ( despite me making a mistake and not booking a pod) they could see I was disappointed and changed us . I think maybe when booking check you’ve booked the right thing !! The pod was clean and cosy with all you would need . The bed was comfy and we slept well.
Parking - lots of parking as they have a car park .
