The Wood Norton

An amazing building with historical connections. The bathroom was good, with deep bath and good mains water pressure. But the bedroom needed serious update. No mains lighting in the bedroom or hallway, just plug in side lights by the bed and a standard lamp on old fashioned round pin plug in hall. I had to use a torch to move round the bedroom. The lift wasn't working, although the membet of staff managed some manoeuvre to get it working which I couldn't replicate. Restaurant was ok but the standard of a reasonable pub, not fine dining. Menu was a bit odd - steak and chips, fish and chips style or ”venison pudding” which was a huge stodgy pastry with over cooked dry meat inside. Breakfast buffet was very nice, but too dark in that room also. Six jams and marmalades in open jars with no way of knowing what they were, and no little dishes to put them in to take to your seat. Service at breakfast had to be sought out, no one in site. Breakfast bacon was inedible - cooked previously then reheated. Overall, it is a fascinating place but needs a big overall and review of what they are offering.
The Abbey

We were I. A room on the top floor which have a great view. However the room was tired and desperately needs refurbishment. The room was also VERY warm - no heating was on but because the windows are (understandably) restricted in how wide they open there was limited cool air that could reach the room. This meant us having to sleep in a room with a temperature over 28’c which was unbearable.
Southcrest Manor Hotel, BW Signature Collection

We had our daughter’s 16th Birthday party here and once again Kay and the team were fantastic. As always they made us feel so welcome. Food was amazing and the resident DJ was brilliant, we sent a play list over of songs our daughter wanted and he played them all and more. Shout out to Taylor and Chloe who were amazing, kept the bar stocked up and nothing was ever too much trouble. We also stayed the night as well as some of our family and friends, accommodation was great and breakfast was so good. The Southcrest is like our second home and would recommend this venue to anyone.
Stourport Manor Hotel

We have been to this hotel several times, it has the basis of a fab hotel, great amenities etc but its not rub particularly well. The pool/billiards room closes in the evening when you would assume it would be open to use for residents in the hotel, noone could ever quite tell me what time it didn't close but it was basically part of the swimming pool and gym and closed when that did. Again noone actually knew what time that was! Paid for my puppy to stay but got no puppy treats, or puppy pack as promised! All in all would stay again but it doesn't quite live up to its stars the way its currently being managed.

Arrived late at night. Painless check in. Pleased to see that the bar was open until 2am. Room itself was clean but the decor in the hallways and the carpets are tired and stained. Hot breakfast was luke warm at best despite seeing a member of staff testing the food temperatures. The hot food trays might have been well over 62 degrees but the sausages and bacon in them weren't very hot. I do appreciate that it's difficult to keep dry hotplate food hot. Perhaps it's time to step out of the 70's and actually cook the breakfasts to order? Still a step up from the standard Premier Inn / Travelodge rooms.
Bromsgrove Hotel and Spa

Great value for Money hotel with excellent staff. I’ve been staying here on and off for the last 3 weeks to support my Son who is working away from home for work. I cannot thank the staff for their help, service and professionalism enough. This isn’t a 5 or even a 4 star hotel but its clean, fabulous value and has friendly and attentive service. The staff have helped me work form the hotel, stay in comfort with my son and gone beyond the call of duty on many occasions. Thank you, I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here or recommend the hotel, for a friendly, great value stay with service and amenities. Well done all the team!!
Holiday Inn Express Droitwich Spa

We arrived last Friday some how we had a room for two but there was three of us so we went back to reception and the girl was lovely she changed the room straight away and got a sofa bed fixed up for us. Had a great nights sleep. No noise through the night. The room was grand it was clean and we were only there for one night so it suited us fine. Breakfast was good they had a lot of choice. The only thing was there was no fried eggs which is what I love. Apart from that is was good. The staff were very helpful and I would stay here again.
Abbey Hotel Golf & Spa

The Abbey is a very lovely hotel, set in beautiful surroundings. It’s clean and inviting. The bedrooms are spacious and I have to say the bed is the most comfortable that I’ve slept in at a hotel and believe me I’ve stayed at numerous hotels across the world. The staff are welcoming, polite and professional. They’re very accommodating. I would definitely stay there again.
Holiday Inn Birmingham - Bromsgrove

Positives- Friendly staff. We got a refurbished room. Nice and clean room with very fresh decor. All power points have USB points. No need to bring chargers just cables. Free guest wifi. Fridge and safe in the room. Access to pool, spa and sauna suite included in room rates. Bar food is excellent, perhaps a little too pricey. Clean towels daily. Blue badge parking at front door but only 3 of them there are another two spaces nearby that could be allocated. No EV charging. Negatives- Power sockets at the headboard are out of sight and difficult to reach. The toilet requires you to sit 45 degrees for a sit down job. The shower door entrance is very narrow especially for a more portly figure. Phone to room not connected requiring me to lie down on the floor to access the jackpoint. No hair dryer but after reconnecting the phone reception sent one up in 5 mins. Bedside light not working. Breakfast was disappointing. It would appear a coach tour party had raided the place 30 mins previously. Tea spoons would be nice too. Hot food was just warm except for fried eggs which were hot. Cereals and juices were depleted. Air con control hanging off wall and not working. Fan provided. Not informed of this issue. Unable to open window at night due to proximity of M5. Overall- I would use this group again and hopefully these small but not insignificant matters are dealt with. The rooms for 2 adults are reasonably priced at £63 per night that includes breakfasts and leisure access. Near M5 but not close to either junction 4 or 5.
Worcester Bank House Hotel Spa Golf, BW Premier Collection
4.2/595 Reviews
Enjoyed a 4 day stay at the Bank House Hotel on a DB&B deal. The only comment I would make regards the Dinner Menu which lacked any daily changes, even the “Pie of the Day” was the same for the first 3 nights offering Chicken and Stuffing filling; on the last night it changed to Chicken and Chorizo. What ever happened to good old British Pies like Steak & Kidney or Beef and Ale. Apart from the aforementioned this hotel has a great location for exploring the Cotswolds and we would thoroughly recommend it. The spa and swimming pool complex is first class.
