Because there is no restaurant convenience store near the hotel, I chose to eat in the hotel restaurant, which is delicious and not expensive. The rooms are clean and comfortable and cost-effective.
I booked two rooms. In one of them, even with the heating set to 28 degrees, it was still freezing cold, and I shivered through the night. In the other room, with the heating set to just 20 or 21 degrees, it was unbearably hot. For a hot spring hotel, not having a private in-room hot spring bath and only a shower is a bit of a letdown. I booked three hot spring hotels for this trip, and this one was the least comfortable. Overall, it was just okay.
The hotel is not far from the Kusatsu central area, about an 8-minute walk from the Kusatsu bus stop. I had booked a tatami room, but was given a twin room instead. The room was spacious with windows on two sides. The hotel's large public bath was spacious, although the outdoor pool was a bit small, only accommodating 3-4 people. Dinner was Japanese cuisine, but the variety and portions were limited, and the ingredients weren't particularly special. The staff were polite, and there was a shuttle bus to the Kusatsu bus stop. Overall, the price is worth comparing with other options before making a decision.
If you're a foreigner, a translation tool is essential because the staff don't speak English, or their accent was hard for us to understand. When we couldn't communicate, they seemed annoyed (90% of the staff didn't smile at us). There was an older staff member who was friendly, especially the one handling ski activity bookings. 🤬🤬 Absolutely terrible.
The food was mediocre, not much variety or taste.
The room was clean, and the onsen bathroom with amenities was excellent.
In summary, due to poor communication and the staff's lack of enthusiasm in recommending snow activities, my trip ended in tears 😭😭. I had planned to do many snow activities, but instead, I just walked around, built snowmen, and rolled in the snow.
I won't be coming back here next trip. I'll look for a hotel that's more welcoming to Thais.
I used it when I came to climb Joshu Takeru no Mikoto
Very bright.
Cleanliness is good
The owner is also a nice home inn with kindness.
The shower also comes out with a lot of water.
The kitchen is clean.
I would like to use it next time.
If you are concerned about the sound, you need earplugs.
The sound of the door opening and closing and walking in the hallway sounds.
And I'm going to invite a friend to the bar on the ground floor.
I want to use it.
The inn is located at the highest point of the stone steps of Ikabo Onsen, and the room offers a view of the scenery down the mountain. Although old, but still well maintained, staff service attitude is good, the lobby has free coffee, tea and other drinks. It's a pity that I went to the wrong open-air hot spring because I didn't listen to the staff's introduction.
This is a fantastic hot spring hotel, offering a one-night stay with two meals, making it a great value. Breakfast and dinner are both buffets, and the buffet spread is excellent, especially the seasoned steaks, freshly squeezed orange juice (made on the spot), and pre-made banana milkshakes. In the evening, there's a Japanese folk song and dance performance, as well as adorable Kusatsu souvenirs—very kawaii. It was a truly memorable, enjoyable, and satisfying trip. The room also has its own onsen, which maintains a constant 38°C temperature and automatically refills when the water level drops. The room is stocked with high-end Kose shampoo and hair products, a high-end hair dryer, facial toiletries, lotion, hair products, and several kimono accessories. Booking a room with an indoor bath also offers executive lounge access from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM, and access to the newly opened VIP onsen in the annex, essentially renting the entire place out. It's very nice.
The staff was very good.
I am very satisfied that I can enjoy the food and eat various dishes little by little. I didn't get tired of watching the murals in the bath.
The staff was very happy to serve and it was a fun trip.
There are few inns that I want to use again, but Tatsumi Kan wanted to use it again!
Thank you.

AAnonymous UserKazumi Ichinoyu is incredibly conveniently located right in the heart of Kusatsu. The hotel itself is very clean, with a modern Japanese ambiance that made for a wonderfully relaxing stay. The free-flowing hot spring baths are a bit on the warmer side, but they're incredibly soothing and truly melt away your fatigue. Yubatake is also within walking distance, making it perfect for sightseeing. I felt this inn offered a great balance of price and comfort, allowing us to fully enjoy Kusatsu without breaking the bank.

XXINGQIThe traditional Japanese hot spring hotel has two open-air hot springs, a soup of Chicheng and a soup of rock mirrors. When you take a hot spring, you can see the opposite mountain view and beautiful scenery. Laoshen Hot Spring is at the entrance of the tail owl, and plans to go to the tail to hike early in the morning. The woman of the hotel will hear that I am going to go to the stern, and I will help me to contact me for the next day to go to the tail of the bus. I feel that the service attitude is really touched.

GGuest UserThe hotel is clean and the service is very good!
The environment is quiet and quiet, and it is a good place for vacation and leisure.
There are enough parking spaces for parking, and it is best to drive in and out, because other traffic is not convenient.
The breakfast food is diverse and delicious!
GGuest UserWonderful room, service, and overall experience. The room was equipped with a gas heater that quickly warmed the room up despite the January cold. There were also cups, a tea pot, satchels of green tea, and an electric kettle to prepare tea in the room. The onsen bath was very hot and wonderful and the futon and pillows were comfortable. 5/5 experience!
GGuest UserThe building is old, but it is not understood that it is clean and cherished. The flowers on display were beautiful and the rice was very delicious. And the customer service was really polite, and I was often noticed that the color 々 was, and I was able to spend it with a very happy feeling that I noticed and acted before I asked. And the bath was the best.
