JJiaowoJzongOverall, this was a rather disappointing hotel stay.
Before our trip, our plans changed, and we asked the Trip.com concierge to help with cancellation/modifications. However, they were unyielding, and we couldn't cancel for free, so we had to proceed as planned.
After checking in, I waited alone in the waiting area for a long time, expecting a staff member to accompany me to the room and explain the facilities. I waited for half an hour with no one attending to me. When a large group of tourists arrived, the front desk became crowded. After inquiring again, I was told there was no escort service to the rooms and I had to find my way myself.
At 3:30 PM, housekeeping was still ongoing in the room areas. The room space was cramped, and the view was unremarkable. For a room rate of over 4,000 yuan, the hardware and service provided were far from satisfactory.
The hotel's Italian restaurant had decent food, but it wasn't positioned as a high-end restaurant, and the wine list was very limited.
The next day, I asked the front desk to call a taxi to the restaurant. For some reason, perhaps they didn't understand English, there was a long delay. After further communication, a car was arranged half an hour later, which was baffling.
Considering all these experiences, I will not choose this hotel again in the future.
GGuest UserThis hotel is definitely one for the bucket list! The service is excellent, and the food is delicious. They also offer a shuttle service to Karuizawa Station, with a polite driver and soft music playing in the car. My only minor complaint is that the hotel doesn't provide bicycle rentals, but you can easily find rental shops nearby.
GGiftintouchAbsolutely impressed! It truly lives up to its reputation as a resort town – peaceful, beautiful, and with amazing views. The rooms were incredibly clean, the service was excellent, and the onsen was a perfect 100. The classic-style rooms were clean and cozy, with high-quality furniture. I would definitely return if I have the chance. Parking is free for those with cars, and the hotel also offers a shuttle service for train travelers. The food is high-quality, and the restaurant, rooms, onsen, and views are simply stunning.
Yyuuki0220The hotel offers a tranquil atmosphere surrounded by nature, allowing you to relax and feel like you're away from everyday life. The interior has a warm and inviting design, and the guest rooms are clean and comfortable. The staff were attentive and their thoughtful service left a lasting impression. The hot spring bath is spacious, allowing you to fully unwind after a long day of travel. It's a hotel where you can fully enjoy the charm of Hakuba, and I would love to visit again.
SSSLinethegreatHad a really pleasant stay overall. The place was very clean and well-maintained, and the location was convenient for getting around. Service was excellent 👍 staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay. Amenities were also complete and comfortable. Would definitely recommend for couples looking for a smooth and enjoyable stay.
GGuest UserExcellent! The environment is beautiful! The room is clean! The service is great! The food is decent! The hotel facilities are very comprehensive! It feels wonderful to look out at the snow-capped mountains! Very comfortable! It's very close to the ski resort!
GGuest UserHotel Marroad is just a few minutes by the shuttle bus from the station , and it can also be reached on foot. We booked a room for 4 people and the room size is good at a very reasonable price (include breakfast). The fixtures are a bit old. However, the room and the amenities are very clean. We come to skiing and the hotel has a rental service (much cheaper than you rent at the ski field) which is very convenient. Also, they send us to ski field every day.
Staff can speak little English, but they are all very friendly and helpful. Breakfast is delicious, and it is a must try.
GGuest UserBy the time we got there by rental car it was quite late, the reception team has been patient and friendly. Suggest to have more illustrated print out for driving to the sightseeing parking lots and more maps to show before heading out. Plus the water machine is not very handy in giving out hot water for tea. Others are perfect in terms of room and environment.
DdadzUnexpectedly comfortable! I thought it was just a regular hotel, but when I arrived, it felt like an old five-star establishment. It's conveniently located on the second floor of Nagano Station, easily accessible by walking through the shops. There are restaurants upstairs and a supermarket downstairs. To get to Togakushi, you just need to cross the road to the bus station. The bedding was comfortable, and the room was spacious. Everything was perfect, except for a bit of train noise.
AANDREI POG.This was my first experience at a mountain hotel with hot springs. It was a pleasant surprise to encounter staff who spoke many languages. The atmosphere was very intelligent, calm, and set the perfect mood for an unforgettable vacation. I recommend everyone stay here for at least 2-3 nights; you'll have an unforgettable experience that will make you want to return in the future. Absolutely delighted! Maybe it's because it's only my second time in Japan? Such lovely memories.
