Beautiful resort in the picturesque Maldives. It's only about a 15-minute speedboat ride from the airport, check-in was quick, and the room was incredibly spacious. The daily housekeeping was very thorough, and the bedding was great, ensuring a good night's sleep every night. The breakfast offered a wide variety, so both adults and kids could find something they liked. Dinner was also good, with different options available each evening. The bartenders at the beach bar made excellent drinks, and the evening entertainment was varied and lively. The hotel beach area was lovely too, perfect for snorkeling and fish-spotting, or just relaxing on a beach hammock. đ
Had a really nice stay here. You can tell the hotel is pretty new because everything still feels fresh and well taken care of. The rooms and common areas were clean and nicely set up. The staff were great throughout the stay, always polite and helpful whenever needed. The amenities were also solid and added to the overall comfort. One standout was the restaurant, easily one of the best on the island. The food was great, prices were reasonable, and it stays open late, which was really convenient. Overall, it was a smooth, hassle-free experience. Would definitely consider staying again.
Awesome place to visit. The best thing about the stay was the water villa with jacuzzi and instant access to amazing snorkeling. Rajan our house attendant was a particular highlight, he always had a big smile on his face and went above and beyond to make our stay special and really succeeded, if you read this Rajan, thank you very much for your excellent hospitality, you made our stay very enjoyable!
Only feedback I would give is to reduce the number of notifications sent by the app, it was a bit excessive. Also, due to the sky high prices of even simple activities, we opted to gave all of them a pass. A night snorkeling excursion asking for something like USD90 and then also charging USD15 for torch rental feels a little silly. You cannot go night snorkeling without a torch.
Otherwise, we were really happy with the stay.
The Cao family didn't have a room, so they stayed at the Sky Beach Hotel. Surprisingly, the room was nice. It was large and clean. Sitting in a suite on the fourth floor, you could walk out to the terrace. The view was quite beautiful. The waiters were also very friendly and the food was quite delicious. It was in the middle, and it only took one or two minutes to walk to the North and South Beaches. At night, there were manta rays and a lot of huge hermit crabs on the South Beach. The price was really worth it for such a large room.
The room was clean and a reasonable size, bathroom was adequate, bed was a good size and comfortable. Good balcony with a sea view. The location is perfect right on the bikini beach. The reception was unmaned  and check-in takes place at another Kaani hotel which is less than 100 metres away. The reception was efficient friendly and helpful. The breakfast also took place at the sister hotel, unfortunately the breakfast was poor.
Maafushi itself has lost the local island feel dominated by hotels but that does mean there are plenty of restaurants and mocktail options.
As a local island no alcohol is available on the island but there is a floating bar if you get desperate for a few beers but probably only worth it if you are desperate
This was my first Maldives trip, so I was a bit nervous I might not be impressed, but it was a nice surprise that I will remember in my heart.
First of all, this is a barefoot island..thereâs no concrete, but sand everywhere. The beach amazing and never thought snorkel could be so good only feet away from getting in the water. The resort offers one free snorkel trip every day, but swimming around the island is so good as well.
Bungalows are super nice with good amenities, AC and open air bathroom fitted with quality items (Grohe).
The staff is super nice and helpful.
Buffet is good, we stayed 6 days and food was different each day. There is an a-la-carte restaurant for an additional fee, but I didnât go there.
Last, the stuff is super friendly and helpful.
Most of the extra are quite pricey, but you are on a remote island after all. You can pay in USD at the end, the rate is close to the intra banking exchange).
There are people checking out at 6am and they get the rooms ready for the next guest immediately, so if you land at Male at 8am, they will check you in as soon as you get on the island.
I recently stayed at Sheraton Full Moon Maldives in one of their Overwater Villas, and it was a truly memorable experience. The villa was beautifully designed, clean, and well-maintained â offering direct access to the crystal-clear waters and stunning panoramic views of the ocean. The atmosphere was incredibly peaceful, making it the perfect escape for relaxation and rejuvenation.
The staff throughout the resort were generally excellent â friendly, helpful, and attentive. They handled all requests promptly and with professionalism. A special mention goes to the hotel management team, especially Mr. Megan and a few others, who went above and beyond to resolve a minor incident during our stay. Their approach was calm, respectful, and solution-focused, which left a very positive impression.
Most of the team displayed great hospitality, especially at reception, housekeeping, and concierge. However, the only slight downside was at âThe Feastâ dining area, where a few staff members appeared less engaging and rarely smiled â a contrast to the otherwise warm and welcoming service standard across the resort.
The place is excellent, near the airport, 15-20 minutes on the sleepbot (speed boat from the hotel). It is necessary to write to the hotel in advance and everything is organized. Despite the low season, the hotel has a lot of tourists, the Europeans especially Germans, they have a popular local diving school.
The hotel has honest 3 stars. The rooms are spacious, in the bungalow, in other locations I won't say, probably also. The staff is very polite, trying to help.
It was especially pleasant that we were able to organize early check-in and late check-out, probably allowed the season. In a high season, I am not sure that when the flow of large tourists is possible, but that will show only practice and situation.
The territory and the numbers are cleaned every day. The bushes and trees are processed from the mosquitoes/mosquitoes, in the rain season they are especially a lot across the Maldives. Anyway, you need to capture any spray from biting insects.
Separate thanks to the povors, very hard, there are also European and local kitchens, desserts at them too charming.
If it were to be again in the Maldives, it would have stopped in this honest three-star hotel.
A, and here there are tours and a charming reef around the island, but it is a pity that not all tourists comply with the rules and during the years of recreation part of the coral reef is killed on all islands, it is a sad story. But here there is something to look at snorkeling and diving, fish different, sharks and turtles.
GGuest UserBest stay ever in Maldives! My fourth trip to Maldives, but this stay is the best. Beautiful water villa with pool and very clean and comfortable. Joey was at the reception when I checked in and she was very patient to explain on use of app and things to note. The experience at Hardrock Cafe was fantastic, great food and music. There are 3 islands connected and you can see sunrise and sunset near the Pavilion. The staff at Pavilion (Mr Sunil Giri )was so kind to help me take some pictures with the sunset. There are many shops like canvas painting, pottery making etc to participate in. The staff at merchandise shop (Mr Aalif) beside Hard Rock Cafe has a sense of humour and made one shopping experience a great one! Kudos to all the staff and recommend everyone be it solo or families to choose the hotel, you will never regret! Lastly thanks to the hotel for giving me a bottle of champagne and a birthday cake to make the stay a memorable one!
JJeffGCIf you are looking for a Maldivian getaway that balances island relaxation with a bit of âcityâ energy and variety, SAii Lagoon is a fantastic choice. Unlike the more isolated private islands, this resort is part of the CROSSROADS Maldives project, which means you aren't just limited to one resortâs dining and activities.Â
đ¤ Location & Arrival
One of the biggest perks is the 15-minute speedboat ride from Velana International Airport. After a long flight, being at the resort and checked in within 30 minutes is a luxury in itself. No waiting hours for a seaplane!Â
đ The Room Experience
The design here is very âBoho-Chicââbright, colorful, and modern.
⢠Sky Rooms: Great value with a beautiful balcony view of the lagoon.
⢠Beach Villas: The direct beach access is worth the upgrade. The âcreature comfortâ pillows and the ability to customize your own bathroom amenities at the Aroma Bar were unique touches that made the stay feel personalized.Â
đ´ Dining & Activities
This is where SAii really stands out. Because itâs connected by a footbridge to The Marina @ CROSSROADS and the Hard Rock Hotel:Â
⢠Variety: You have access to over 10+ dining options. We loved Miss Olive Oyl for Mediterranean flavors, but having the option to walk over to the Hard Rock CafĂŠ or the Ministry of Crab at the Marina kept things exciting.Â
⢠The Hub: The Marina has a discovery center, shops, and a beach club (CafÊ del Mar style).
⢠Snorkeling: The house reef is decent, and we spotted plenty of colorful fish and even a few small reef sharks near the overwater walkways.
đĄ Pro-Tips for Travelers:
1. Download the App: Use the SAii App to request buggies or book dinner tablesâitâs much faster than calling the front desk.Â
2. Explore the Marina: Don't just stay on the SAii island. The sunset views from the Marina pier are some of the best on the island.
3. Hilton Honors: If you have status, the perks here (like breakfast or room upgrades) are well-recognized as itâs part of the Curio Collection.Â
Summary: Perfect for couples or families who want a vibrant, social atmosphere rather than total isolation. The proximity to MalĂŠ makes it the ultimate stress-free Maldivian escape!
Would I return? Absolutely, especially for a shorter trip where I want to maximize my time on the sand rather than in transit.
AanseltanVery good room and view, experience of a lifetime especially since it was a first time in the maldives for me with my friends, will definitely come back.
