The room was spacious, perfect for a small family. The highlight, of course, was the view, sea and pool views that were absolutely lovely. One night was definitely not enough. Just open the window and you’ll feel the sea breeze; so calm and so beautiful. Breakfast was fairly normal, nothing fancy. If you’re not local, I’d recommend going out for breakfast around Kuantan town, there are so many great options to choose from. For dinner, Ana Ikan Bakar Petai is just right in front of the hotel. It’s the most famous restaurant in Tanjung Lumpur and within walking distance. Definitely will come again for a short vacay.

I understand that this is the largest hotel in Kuantan and it is imposing. They decorated enthusiastically for Christmas. The rooms are large enough with clean linens and a firm mattress. The location is great since it's across the road from the largest mall. The coffee lounge was satisfactory. The main problem area was that almost no one spoke basic English well enough to understand simple requests. They try and mean well but only a few could understand what I wanted. This was very frustrating. We stayed in this hotel three years ago as well, and there was not this problem at that time. Also, the safe in our room did not work.

The Chateau is a family friendly resort, it is also a great place for events like weddings or celebration. When you arrive to the chateau, it feels as if you were in a fairy tale, castle in the woods. The condition and maintenance of the chateau is awesome, very cozy yet grand at the same time. The staff are very friendly and welcoming to their guests, providing top notch service. There are many different locations to explore and activities to do around the facilities, which make the stay a very eye opening and entertaining one. The room was beautiful, interior design to perfection, very comfy and clean, definitely had a good rest. The food provided at the chateau, one mouth watering meal, it definitely satisfied our taste buds. Overall the experience at this hotel was fantastic, one that I would recommend to many. I would definitely come back again in the future.

Overall, we enjoyed our stay at Hyatt Regency Kuantan, especially the ambience and hospitality. However, there are a few areas that require attention. Cons / Areas for Improvement: 1. Water pressure was quite slow, especially for the shower. When turned to hot water, the pressure increased, but once switched to cold, it became extremely weak. 2. There was water maintenance work happening during our stay. Although the hotel assured that everything was under control, it did affect our comfort while on holiday. 3. We noticed a small clump of dust on the floor. While it was minor, as we were staying with a 2-year-old toddler, it raised concerns as children tend to put things into their mouth. Housekeeping may need to be more thorough. 4. There should be better control of wild monkeys, especially around the parking area. I was chased and nearly bitten, which was quite frightening and unsafe for guests. Pros / What We Appreciate: 1. Excellent service recovery — I forgot to disable the “Do Not Disturb” sign but informed the front desk to clean the room. The housekeeping staff called first to ask for permission before entering, which shows professionalism and true 5-star service standards. 2. The hotel’s surroundings are beautiful, clean, and very calming — truly breathtaking. 3. The beach is very clean and conveniently located right next to the hotel. 4. Large swimming pools (two pools available), so it never felt crowded. 5. Staff were extremely friendly, polite, and always willing to help. Conclusion: Hyatt Regency Kuantan has great potential with its beautiful location, facilities, and outstanding staff. With improvements in water system management, housekeeping checks, and wildlife control, the overall guest experience would be even better.

The island's scenery is breathtaking, especially in the evenings as the sun sets. The combination of the boardwalk, the water, the clouds, and the seagulls is truly captivating. You can also snorkel and kayak on the island, or simply relax on a cushion by the beach, gazing at the clear blue water, listening to the crashing waves, and minding your own business. It's a relaxing and comfortable experience. The rooms are decorated in a wood-style style. Ours even had a small pool, a patio, and a small loft. Everything was well-equipped. Knowing we were Chinese tourists, they even switched the Netflix program on the TV to Chinese—a thoughtful touch. The hotel also offers a turndown service with scented candles and a small note on a leaf, making you feel instantly at home. Regarding food, there's a Malaysian restaurant and an Italian restaurant on the island (the hotel owner is Italian, married to a Malaysian woman, and built a hotel here). Breakfast is served at the hotel's buffet, offering both a buffet and à la carte options. The bread, various toasts, muffins, and yogurt are all delicious. I recommend ordering the ones with peanut butter. We only ate at the Italian restaurant once, which was average. The rest of our stay was at the Malaysian restaurant. The chef is a master at making rich, spicy, sour, and fried dishes, and he's very humorous. The smoothies are also very authentic, and I especially recommend the green apple juice, which is a refreshing summer treat. There's also a small bar during happy hour that sells grilled food and fresh seafood. We didn't know about it and missed it, but we ended up ordering a burger, which was amazing! The gravy was juicy, and while the bread was a little dry, it outweighed the problem. Even the roasted potatoes on the side were delicious! Finally, the hotel service here is impeccable. The staff greets you with a smile and immediately seeks to assist you with any needs. In short, it feels like home, and thinking of them brings a sense of security. Transportation was a bit of a hassle. We landed at Kuala Lumpur Airport, chartered a car to Mersing for a ferry, and spent a few hours exploring Malacca along the way. We departed from the airport's Outlet at around 2:00 PM, arrived in Malacca around 4:00 or 5:00 PM, and departed for Mersing at 7:00 PM, arriving around 11:00 PM. We slept in a homestay in Mersing. The next day, we took the 11:30 PM ferry to Tioman Island, and then another ten-minute ride on the hotel's boat to the hotel. It was a hassle, but on our last day, the hotel dropped us off at the Tioman Island jetty for the ferry. Seeing them say goodbye to us, I couldn't help but think I'd return one day. Besides the scenery, it was their simplicity, sincerity, and thoughtfulness that made this hotel feel like home. It truly was ”home, sweet home.”

Had a wonderful stay at Sky Retreat Hotel! The room was clean and tidy, the surroundings were peaceful, and the cool mountain weather was incredibly refreshing. Check-in was smooth, and it was excellent value for money. Perfect for anyone looking to relax in Genting Highlands and just stay for a night. I'll definitely be back next time! 👍

We had a very enjoyable 5 night stay here before returning to Singapore and then our home in Australia. As Australians, we felt a little out of place but were treated well. We really enjoyed our breakfasts at the hotel and appreciated that it went until 10.30 am. The food variety was very good. We were surprised that Angelo's Restaurant (one of the hotel restaurants) didn't seem to be well patronised. However, when we had dinner there one evening, we were a little disappointed. The pool was also lovely surrounded by some tables and chairs under shade. The only issue was the internet, which kept dropping out on my Samsung tablet. It seemed to be more reliable on my phone. Despite being assisted by IT via reception, this didn't help much at all. We liked the staff, especially the restaurant manager at breakfast.

Talk about going down memory lane, I believe it's been almost 30 years since i first stayed here. Everything seems the same as i remembered. Brings back a whole lot of memories. I just miss the arcade boxes they used to have back in the day. Me & my brothers played the heck out of Street Fighter, inserting coin after coin till the very last penny.

GGuest UserAmma make this one short, The place is nice, staff were amazing, food could be alot better i mean depedns its almost all Asian. For all coming to visit, this place is more like a romantic trip than a family vacay. The beach is very bad TBH its all rocky, no beach front that you can actually lay on and enjoy the dash o'water The closest lets say snorkelling requires a package purchase or if you know a sea taxi, as relying on this beach's marine life its sad, dead coral everywhere.

MmangosellerI stayed at Crockfords Hotel Genting in early October 2025 and was genuinely disappointed by the level of service — especially for a hotel that claims to be Malaysia’s leading luxury property. On 3 October, I approached the concierge Duty Manager around 9:40am regarding the hotel Wi-Fi, which kept showing an “invalid credentials” error. Instead of taking the initiative to verify the problem — which turned out to be something as simple as incorrect login details given at check-in — he insisted that the IT team would need to come into my room to fix it. Later in the day, another staff member resolved the issue within minutes by simply checking the credentials. It’s baffling how the Duty Manager couldn’t do something that basic. Throughout my stay, I also noticed that many of the staff seemed lost and unsure of how to handle simple situations — almost like the blind leading the blind. There was a clear lack of coordination and communication among them. The breakfast experience was another major letdown. I had breakfast there for three consecutive days, and throughout, the food was never hot — the noodles in soup were the only consistently warm item served. To make matters worse, the staff did not communicate properly among themselves. On one morning, we were told to wait while a table by the window was being cleared for us. After waiting a good five minutes, another group of guests was allowed to take the exact table we were waiting for. The explanation given was simply that “the other guests wanted the table.” Completely unacceptable for a hotel of this supposed calibre. The only saving grace was the Duty Manager working on 5 Oct and overseeing the breakfast buffet, who was attentive, proactive, and took the initiative to check if guests needed drinks or assistance. His professionalism truly stood out amidst the confusion elsewhere. For a hotel that boasts winning the Forbes Travel Guide 5-Star Award seven years in a row, this experience was frankly a joke. The gap between Crockfords’ reputation and its actual service standards is staggering. Truly disappointing and nowhere near what one would expect from a so-called luxury hotel. PS: At least the view was great.

GGuest Userhad a pleasant stay overall, but the pool could definitely be improved. When we arrived, the staff were still in the middle of cleaning the pool. Even after they were done, the water was still a bit cloudy and didn’t look fully clean. Hopefully the hotel can maintain the pool better because everything else about the stay was good

GGuest UserThis hotel is a good choice for families visiting Genting Highlands. The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable, providing enough space for both adults and children. The family-friendly layout made the stay convenient and relaxing. The hotel offers useful facilities such as a swimming pool and reliable Wi-Fi, which were enjoyable for children and practical for parents. The surrounding area is peaceful with pleasant mountain views, making it suitable for families who prefer a quieter environment. Although the hotel is slightly far from the main Genting attractions and requires transportation, the overall experience was positive. The hotel provides good comfort, cleanliness, and value, making it a suitable option for a family stay.

TTraveller354Beautiful resort that really makes you feel like you are in the middle of nowhere. The grounds are well maintained and really pretty, the huts are a bit plain, but have what you need. The rooms do get really warm which I feel could be solved by blocking off the high roof. This would make it easier to clean and make the room a bit smaller for the small air con unit to cool down. We also had a double hut that connected to another one with a thin door which didn’t lock. Great for families travelling together, but as we did not know the people staying in the other hut, we would have liked the option to lock the door. The walls are also really thin so we sometimes heard a bit more than what we wanted to hear. Some of the activities are incredible! Highly recommend the night jungle walk. The guides are really knowledgeable and managed to spot tiny (and sometimes not so tiny) creepy crawlers for us to see. The day jungle walk was fun and not too hard. “Easy” jungle hiking. The boat trip to Lata Berkoh was a waste of time. The boat trip itself is fine, but you get out to look at a big tree, then again at a “fish sanctuary” which is really just a few empty buildings and a guy selling fish food in recycled bottles. You then feed the fish in the river. Finally, the swimming spot is just a different part of the dirty river, with conflicting signs which state it is both safe and unsafe to swim. The night boat tour was ok. The guides really try to find things for you to see, but it really depends on which animals are out and about. So all in all, good experience, but recommend looking outside the resort for things to do during the day, we mainly just sat around until the next activity we had booked as it was too hot to do anything and many of the trails were too long to do in between min 3-5km. Also: note you cannot get to the resort by car! You need to leave it in the parking and take a boat (1RM per passenger) to get to the resort. Not bad, just not something we knew and it took us a while to figure it out in the dark. Food was ok

GGuest UserWe had a wonderful stay at the hotel, enjoying the beautiful and comfortable environment, as well as the kids-friendly facilities and easy access to the beach. However, we did notice that the swimming pool area had some safety concerns. There were broken tiles and cracks around the swimming pool, which could pose a safety risk, especially for children. Additionally, we noticed some yellow stains on the bedsheets. Overall, it was a pleasant stay, but attention to these maintenance issues would definitely improve the experience.
