I chose to stay here again after my trek because my first stay before the trek was so comfortable. The dinner was absolutely delicious, and the hotel environment is peaceful, unlike the noisy Thamel area. The staff's service made me feel genuinely warm and welcomed; they even proactively helped me communicate with the local driver when I was getting a taxi. I'd love to book this place again next time I'm in Nepal.

I had a very pleasant stay at this hotel. The restaurant was excellent, and every meal was delicious and well prepared. The room was very clean, comfortable, and well maintained, which made it easy to relax. Most of all, the staff were extremely friendly and attentive, always making me feel welcome. Thanks to their hospitality, my stay was truly enjoyable, and I would definitely choose this hotel again in the future.

As a Chinese traveler who has stayed at several hotels in Kathmandu, I absolutely have to write a detailed review and heartily recommend this gem of a hotel to all my compatriots visiting Nepal! First and foremost, what truly impressed me was the impeccable cleanliness – a rarity in this region. I've stayed in many local hotels where yellowed, musty towels were the norm, but this place was entirely different. All the linens were sparkling white and felt crisp and fresh, matching the hygiene standards of high-end hotels back home. It made me feel completely at ease. Not just the rooms, even the public restrooms in the lobby were spotless and odor-free. The attention to detail surpassed many star-rated hotels, which, as a Chinese person, instantly made me feel a sense of familiarity and reassurance. The hotel owner is incredibly kind. Not only is he handsome, but he speaks Chinese even better and more fluently than many of my Chinese friends, making communication completely seamless and smooth. He’s more like a thoughtful elder figure; whether it's planning itineraries, exchanging currency, booking taxis, or asking about local food and entertainment, he patiently answers every question and tries his best to help with any request. Throughout my stay, I felt incredibly well-cared for, completely dispelling any sense of unfamiliarity in a foreign land. The biggest surprise was the authentic Chinese restaurant on the ground floor, specializing in Sichuan cuisine – the flavors were stunningly genuine! As a Chinese person who loves spicy food, it was an absolute delight to find such authentic Sichuan dishes in Kathmandu. The numbing, spicy, fresh, and aromatic notes were perfectly balanced; every bite tasted like home. It was on par with proper Sichuan restaurants in China, and I happily ate there multiple times without getting tired of it. It truly cured my Chinese craving. Overall, from hygiene and service to dining, everything far exceeded my expectations. To find such a clean, caring, and 'taste of home' hotel in Kathmandu was truly fortunate. I strongly recommend it to all Chinese travelers visiting Nepal; it will undoubtedly be the warmest haven during your journey. The next time I come to Kathmandu, this will still be my top choice!

We had a lovely short stay in Aarya. Starting off with convenience: by being transported by the vehicle arranged by the hotel from the Intl Airport at no extra cost. This was a lovely touch by the hotel as sometimes travellers may want to avoid the hassle of negotiating with taxi drivers and firms. Then being greeted by the wonderful staff at the reception with khada & a glass of refreshing drink. The check in was smooth and seamless. The hotel itself was remarkably decorated to a classic Nepali ‘Newari’ culture which was very impressive. Located in the heart of Thamel, but slightly away from the drawing music & hustle and bustle of the streets to provide a peaceful and quiet atmosphere that we certainly needed after a long flight. Our room was spacious and kitted out with all the amenities and not forgetting, wonderfully decorated again. The facilities provided in the Hotel, from the Gym to the swimming pool was again impressive considering we were in the heart of Thamel. I particularly enjoyed the view of Sundhara Dharahara and SkyWalk tower whilst running on Treadmill and going for a swim and also the view of Swayambhu whilst doing weights in the Gym. The Sora restaurant at the top floor provided us a majestic view of the city whilst dining both during dinner and breakfast. The glass floor at the dining area was also something unique at the hotel which we have not seen in Nepal. Food was of the highest quality, and we were thoroughly satisfied with dinner and particularly the wide range of options available on the breakfast buffet, from nepali classics such as Sel Roti and Puri to modern cuisine such as Masala Omelette and Sausage & Bacon. Truly a stay to remember and we have already recommended it to our friends and family and will definitely come back to stay here again!! Excellent location, within walking distance to the Thamel area. It's close enough to be convenient but far enough to be quiet. We were offered warm drinks during check-in, which was a nice touch, especially in winter. The room was very clean and quiet, and the hotel thoughtfully prepared a cake for us. The laundry service was also very convenient and efficient. All the staff were very helpful. The gentleman who helped with our luggage even assisted us in identifying our car by its license plate (as all license plates here use Arabic numerals), and the front desk staff helped us book bus tickets.

Awesome! Very very satisfied with our stay at Pomelo. There’s location is great, we are just a few minutes walk from Thamel, 20 minutes walk from Sayambhu, 10 minutes taxi from Balaju… Now the service, it was the best part in the inn, the staff is really very friendly and accommodating, thank you Gyanu and Kamal who helped us for everything during our stay. We booked two rooms as a family, but we got one big family room with separated rooms, the beds were very comfortable and the bathroom was big and proper to use. The breakfast is the best one we had in Kathmandu, fresh and simple. There is a rooftop, from where we took a bowl of air in the evenings and mornings, really nice.

The hotel is conveniently situated right behind of the Garden of Dreams. Just a short walking distance to the busy Thamel area. The vicinity has convenience stores, cafes, eateries and pharmacy. The room is quite small but it's alright for a short stay. The bed wasn't quite as comfortable as other hotels that I've stayed. Very basic fitness facility in the hotel, do wish that they would make the gym bigger and better equipped. The breakfast buffet is good enough for some fuel before heading out to explore. Omelette could definitely be improved but I do like the mushrooms and bacon with my omelette. They also have a soup station which you can pick what you want to go into your soup. The soy latte was nicely done. Some day they serve the chocolate cake which is a must try. Staffs are very well trained and speaks good english. I'd definitely recommend staying here for the value for money, fantastic location and good hospitality.

On this special day, I chose to check in at Shanker hotel. The warm service,delicious food and quality environment,everything is so good. The hotel prepares decorations and cake very thoughtfully, surprised us. Due to the late arrival time, the hotel also thoughtfully provided me with dinner order so that could enjoy it when we arrived. Finally the food upexpectedly delicious. I recommend you to choose Shanker hotel. Wherever it’s a vacation or celebration it is best choice.
