The family room amenities were severely lacking. I forgot to take a picture of the bathroom, but it was incredibly small – the toilet stall was like something out of an airplane, and the shower was tiny too. The room itself was long and narrow. Instead of two chairs where they could have fit, there were two beanbag chairs. The 1.5-meter bed didn't feel like 1.5 meters, and there were no nightstands; the charging plug had to go on the floor. There was no bar or coffee table; the cups and tea bags were just placed on top of the mini-fridge. Hotel parking isn't free, costing $25, unless you park on the street, but then you have to move your car by 9:30 AM. The bottom bunk of the bunk bed was so low you couldn't sit up without hitting your head. The breakfast, however, was decent. Check-out is before 10 AM, and breakfast ends at 10:30 AM at the latest.
This hotel is one of the better options in Kaikoura for whale watching. It offers free parking, and if the lot is full, you can also park for free on the roadside by the sea.
The restaurant downstairs is excellent. After whale watching, we didn't want to go far, so we just had dinner there.
As for the room, it's on par with domestic Quanji or Atour hotels, but not quite five-star. Still, for this area, you can't be too picky. It was clean and comfortable, which is what matters.
I had a very pleasant stay at Hotel Give Christchurch. The location is fantastic—just directly opposite the beautiful Christchurch Botanic Gardens, which is perfect for a relaxing walk.
Many of the main attractions are within walking distance, making it very convenient to explore the city without needing transport.
Overall, a comfortable and well-located hotel. I would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Christchurch.
The room was a two-story unit, and both the facilities and the hotel environment were excellent. The location is also very close to Lake Tekapo, which was convenient for catching the sunrise by the lake early in the morning before it got crowded.
If you're visiting Tekapo, I'd definitely recommend renting a car. The roads at night are incredibly dark, and not having a car felt a bit unsafe (worried about getting hit by a car while crossing the road or tripping over unseen steps). Plus, you can park your car right in front of your room.
Right across the street is Tekapo's liveliest commercial center (mainly a supermarket, souvenir shops, restaurants, and stargazing tours), so overall, staying here is quite convenient!
The hotel is a simple building with thin floors and poor sound insulation. On windy nights, the whirring sound is very loud. The yard is large and parking is very convenient. There is no breakfast, but there is a public area for eating. The waiters they hired to clean the room are not up to standard. Sometimes they don't take out the garbage, sometimes they don't change the towels or floor mats, and they don't sweep or vacuum the room for several days. They can just make the bed in a perfunctory manner. I guess they are hourly workers, anyway, they are not careful.
The accommodation is very beautiful. Early check-in Free of charge A lot of parking At first, I got a 2nd floor accommodation, but there was no elevator, so I asked to change to the 1st floor because there are many bags and very heavy. The staff is very good. But quite out of the city, about 10 minutes drive, overall okay.
This is a fantastic hotel. Due to flight issues, I checked in late at night, but the lobby was incredibly warm and comfortable, with a beautiful and pleasant atmosphere. The environment is truly outstanding. It faces a large park, offering lovely views, and the transportation is convenient as it's right in the city center and very close to the airport. The lobby fireplace was cozy, and the front desk staff were incredibly welcoming, treating guests like family. The room was very clean and tidy, hygienic, and comfortable. It was spacious, and the bedding was excellent – clean and very comfortable to use. The bathroom was great, and the room overall was very spacious, neat, bright, and grand. Everything felt relatively new. I would definitely stay here again next time. It offers great value for money.
Overseas rooms don't come with slippers, toothpaste, or toothbrushes, so you'll need to bring your own. Water isn't provided in the room either; you have to get it from the hallway, so it's a good idea to bring your own cup or water bottle. Other than that, it's pretty decent. It's within walking distance to the terminal, and the front desk staff are quite friendly. There's also a restaurant upstairs. The bed was comfortable, and I slept well. This place is better than the Novotel at Auckland Airport.
The room was very clean, similar to a high-end hotel chain like Ji Hotel or Atour in China. For New Zealand, it felt quite upscale. There's free parking, which is super convenient for those who rent a car. It's also close to both the airport and the city center.
The hotel is just a few dozen meters from the bus station, with a supermarket right across the street. The room is quite small; there's hardly any space once you open your suitcase. The hot water is hot enough, but there's no toothbrush or toothpaste in the bathroom, which is a bit inconvenient. Some rooms are very exposed and visible from the street, so you really need to keep the curtains drawn.

Good
The rooms is nice. Good location for wandering to the city. Definitely worth it.
Everything was great — the room had a washer and dryer, and there was a good variety of food options nearby through DoorDash delivery. Roadside parking was available near the hotel. Just that a dust ball spotted on one pillow
Great location within 100m to Christchurch airport, good gym facility and view of the runway. The whole hotel feel very new and modern. Although it’s right next to the runway, we can’t hear any of the noise at all, breakfast is great with lots of options.
This was by far the best hotel I stayed at in New Zealand. Compared to other Hilton properties, the bed here was noticeably larger and more comfortable. I stayed in a twin room, and each bed was around 1.2 to 1.5 meters wide, whereas other hotels only offered very narrow single beds (about 0.9 meters). There was also plenty of space between the beds, which made the room feel much more comfortable. The room was very clean, well-equipped, and the front desk staff were friendly and helpful. The location was also decent, making it a very convenient and pleasant place to stay overall. I would highly recommend this hotel — especially if you’re looking for a comfortable and restful experience.
Stayed 2 nights at One Bedroom Lakeview Suite. Room was great and clean, with a fully equipped kitchen (pots pans utensils etc). The bathroom was clean and spacious, room comes with a functioning washer + dryer. Overall a happy stay!
