Days Inn by Wyndham Bar Harbor

So - this little quaint motel in Bar Harbor might not suit everybody’s taste. It is an old fashioned motel. The rooms are old - as in the a/c units are have dials that you turn numbered 1-10. But they work great !! We had the ground floor and there are plastic patio chairs outside the rooms where we sat and enjoyed our morning coffee from the continental breakfast each morning. The rooms are extremely clean and the staff was wonderful and treated you like old friends!! We loved this little place!! It felt like a step back in time !!
Holiday Inn Resort Bar Harbor - Acadia Natl Park

Since we arrived at the hotel late at night, the man at the front desk of the hotel directly gave us a room without a balcony in the side building, and said that the booking information received was that there was no balcony! ! In fact, the rooms with balconies are in the main building, facing the sea, and are full. So communicated with Ctrip customer service, Ctrip service attitude is good, but the problem is not solved, after repeated 2 days of negotiation, Ctrip customer service finally compensated 3.5% of the total cost as a little psychological comfort for Ctrip customer service. Since it was full, so 3823 yuan / night, stayed for 2 nights, it is not worth it. The environment of the hotel is relatively good, it is on the seaside, but our side building can't see the sea. Don't imagine this is a luxury hotel, just because of the summer tourist season, it's surprisingly expensive. Hotel equipment is average, a bit old, next time will not be fooled again!
Ramada by Wyndham Saco/Old Orchard Beach Area

They gave us a handicap or assessable room which r not the nicest. N I don’t think they were sold out?? I’m not so old I need the grab bars! Anyways in addition the blinds n blackout shades did not close because they were improperly installed. I got on the chair n fixed them but my wife thought I was nuts n should have called the desk! But I know then I would have been up for 2 more hrs til it got resolved so I fixed it myself! Entrance to bldg was blocked for cars Br a cow gate! Not sure what that was about but if temporary then there should be a very apparent sign saying so! Staff was great!!

This is not a top quality Comfort Suites, but it does offer a really good nights rest. It is quiet when we stayed and yes the hotel was full, not sure why the other reviews stated so much noise, I guess we just got lucky. The hotel is in a very good location, very close to the outlets and close to Portland. A few of the issues are pool is closed and looking at the other reviews it has been for a while. Are they ever going to open it back up? The breakfast area is not stocked very well. You have to sit and wait on them to fix the food, and then they only put out a few things at a time. The parking lot and front lobby is dirty, trash overflowing, cigarette butts everywhere. There is no housekeeping unless you schedule it at the front desk, but we had no issues getting fresh supplies at the front desk. One the plus side, customer service was outstanding, breakfast was really good for a hotel breakfast, location was excellent, and we had a good nights sleep every night we were there. Would we stay again, it is hard to say. I really like to have a pool when traveling, but if I couldnt find anything else for this same price, then yes I would stay again.
The Press Hotel, Autograph Collection

We decided to do a night out in Portland. I am originally from there...born and raised, but live in Kittery now. Decided to check out the press hotel and union restaurant for brunch. Honestly, it was all ”Meh”. Hotel was nice, clean and convenient to Old Port. It is however, overdone, overpriced and overhyped. Too much with the press quotes all over the place, the tyewriters, printing press parts, etc etc. I get it. Its the Portland Press Herald's old building. Our room was $400 after taxes and had a view of the fire station parking lot. It was tiny, bed uncomfortable, pillows unusable (ordered new pillows which helped, but the oversized ”feather” pillows were covered in something like crepe paper). Bathroom had no fan, stupid quotes all over the place signifying nothing. I don't really understand how other hotels in the Port are like $150 a night for the same thing while this is more than double. The experience? It was too much by half. Seems to me this is there to bilk tourists out of a few extra dollars playing on Portland's history, which I don't get--the Press Herald is still around, just not in that building. Maybe its there for the new hipster crowd in Portland to part with some of their money, who knows. Traveling to Portland and want to stay downtown? Stay at one of the other cheaper hotels. Same exerience, half the price. Remember, no matter how hard you try, Portland is not Boston and its not New York. Mariott missed with this one.
Best Western White House Inn

This one has seen better days. A lot of maintenance issues that had gone unreported for a long time. Shower/bathtub would not drain at all. Washbasin was very slow. AC filter was in need of a good cleaning. A side door is supposed to be locked from the inside but stayed open and unsecured all night. This was just as expensive as a really well maintained Hilton Garden Inn hotel in Freeport. Your dog is welcome but it will cost you a 15$ fee. The breakfast was good and had options for a take out box. Location seemed very odd, and seems far from Bangor proper.
Comfort Inn Civic Center

This hotel is disgusting and the management is even worse. Me and my niece were saying here she is only 10. We were in the vending machine area when some crazy person starts coming out yelling at us so of course im going to tell her to stfu and stop talking to me like that in front of a child and calm down... After she goes to her room youd think its over.... no when I go to complain she opens her door yet is still inside cause she is scared to come out and is accusing me or us of harrasing her and bothering her because we walked by her door! At this point Im pissed so I tell her shes crazy and needs to mind her business she threatened to call the police and the worker comes up and did nothing to calm the situation she gets me almost kicked out making up lies because shes a paranoid junkie. mind you she has a two yr old in the room this whole time. So of course Im going to get mad at being provoked. I was minding my business when someone starts somthing for no reason. She was clearly living at that hotel it seemed because the next day the workers just blindly believed her over me without even listening to what really happened. She approached me and my niece first and started everything when she realized I wasnt someone to mess with she then played the victim and they believed everything she said. Not good business at ALL and shes lucky is all I gotta say because your hotel seems to protect scumbags who sart drama and not actual potential costumers just wanting a drama free stay and have fun. And its funny you can reply Julia But yet you cant respond on here but cant respond or do anything about these situations. And I have to say your workers need retraining ! They are rude and treated me like I was lying just beccause she lied and made up stories about me. I was also a guest there should be no believeing one person or the other. I actually wanted a refund for the experience I had to go though and no one ever contacted me back or cared to. If you want people to be happy with your hotel service and not have potential law suits on your hands then I suggest hiring competent staff and getting rid of some of the shady drifters / crazy ppl who stay at your hotel.
The Westin Portland Harborview

4.5 stars We stayed one night while passing through Portland on the way home. Check-in was quick and friendly. The lobby is nice. Room was clean, spacious, and updated. Bed was comfortable. Front desk staff were helpful. Location is great! We had a couple of great walks to dinner or to get coffee. The Old Port neighborhood was cute! We ordered room service for breakfast. Service was slower than expected due to staffing issues, but we both enjoyed our meals. We didn’t get to take advantage of the spa or restaurant, but if we find ourselves in Portland again, we definitely will. We always have nice experiences at Westins, and this stay was no different.
Ogunquit Tides

This was our second stay at this property. The first was pre Covid with friends. We had the two bedroom apartment above the office and while it was dated, we had gotten a decent price. This time we had room 23 which is in the “motel” type building with outside entrances. King room with an efficiency kitchen. I wish I could say that we’ll be back for a third stay. We will not. This motel needs major renovations. While the shower stall and bathroom floor looked new, the walls, woodwork, light fixtures, kitchen, bed, bedspread, drapes, carpeting and kitchen all need to be replaced and or cleaned more thoroughly. The freestanding hottub we enjoyed a few years ago by the outside pool is now gone and the spa hottub in the indoor pool area is empty. So if you are Looking for a hottub there isn’t one. The indoor pool had so much chlorine it was blinding to our eyes. We couldn’t stay in for any length of time. That room needs major attention. Peeling paint and what looks like mold is evident. This was a last minute trip booked the night before because we wanted to see “Beautiful” at the playhouse. Most properties were sold out this weekend but this one had rooms available so we booked it. For $200+ it was not worth the price when the condition of the property is taken into consideration. I believe the management is newer since we stayed pre Covid and maybe the new owners are making some improvements slowly (room bath had new shower and floor) but I just cannot recommend this motel to anyone at this point. Sorry. I just felt like I needed to wash everything we brought with us after staying here. Very disappointing.
Embassy Suites by Hilton Portland Maine

We made a last minute decision to take a trip from the NYC area up to Portland to attend an event, and with Labor Day weekend traffic, we did not arrive until about 11:30PM at night with 3 exhausted kids. We were pleasantly surprised with this hotel -- the kids slept in the bedroom and my husband and I slept on the pull-out couch in the living room area of the suite. I was anticipating noise because of the proximity to the airport, but we never heard a single plane! When we requested extra towels, pillows, blankets, etc they were brought up in a timely fashion by a friendly and helpful staff member. The included breakfast was a really nice perk -- everyone had plenty of options (one of our travel companions is vegan and had options). My husband in particular enjoyed the freshly made omlets.
