The hotel is cheap and clean. Every time I go there, I get a glass of wine from the downstairs restaurant. You can see the sea from the room. The food in the restaurant is cheap and delicious, but you have to book in advance. The room is full every weekend. There are free drinks, milk and biscuits in the room.
No power for majority of our stay. This mean no air conditioning, no lifts to assist with luggage, no tv, hot water, working fridge or cooking facilities, no spa, limited gym, very dark passage ways and no lighting in car park and some stair wells. The onsite cafe was closed and even the pedal karts the kids wanted to use were all broken and not able to use.
Staff considering the issues were lovely and the resort itself was how we hoped, but needed up wasting our time and money for this stay. No offer of compensation or refund. Very disappointed.
The location is good but other than that I would not call it a pleasant stay. Rooms and bathrooms are pretty dirty. They clean regularly but apparently not thoroughly. Power on my bunk did not work. The room has a 'temporary' AC which has collected dust like it has been there for a while already and it is unbearably loud. The exhaust air of this is routed to a closed window, therefore all the air stays in the room. Luckily I figured that out and opened the window the 2nd night but the AC still was loud.
For $80 a night I do expect more.
The hotel has a great location, with gas stations and restaurants nearby. The rooms are spacious and the kitchen is fully equipped. However, definitely do not book a room that includes breakfast; the breakfast, which costs over 200 RMB, consists of instant cereal and soy milk.
I have 2 issues one is the check in and check out time 10 am check out is too early if check in is after 2pm . I wanted to purchase breakfast add on but was told not possible at food checkout even though they had terminal, had to go to reception to do , however reception said they could do at breakfast bar which I just came from !
Second at reception I informed them that my room would not be vacant rd until breakfast was consumed at 10.30 , no problems but upon returning to room it had been serviced at some of my belongings removed!! What the !!
At 10.25am my ro
It's a motel, so don't expect a four-star standard. Located facing Apollo Bay, the top-floor sea-view rooms boast a large balcony – perfect for watching the ocean during the day, stargazing at night, and listening to the waves. The room is well soundproofed; once the balcony door is closed, it becomes very quiet. However, the air conditioning in the living room was broken, and the hairdryer was also out of order. The two-bedroom apartment is spacious and comes with a kitchen and a washing machine. On the downside, no slippers or other toiletries were provided, though shower gel and shampoo were available. A significant portion of the room cost was covered by Ctrip points, which was a great perk.
The facilities are basic, but it's relatively tidy and clean, typical of a standard motel. The reception closes quite early, so if you're arriving late, remember your key will be under the doormat. I managed to capture the Gemini constellation with my phone on the beach around 10 pm, which was very satisfying. The acai bowl at the nearby Rawr Bar cafe was delicious. Sitting outside on a sunny morning, slowly enjoying breakfast and coffee, then strolling on the large beachfront lawn before driving off to find koalas – it was perfect.
Our room was on the second floor with a king-sized bed. The sofa bed needed to be made up by ourselves, and there was no duvet, only one blanket provided, with another blanket in the closet, which was generally sufficient. There was parking available in the yard. For the second-floor room, luggage had to be carried up an outdoor staircase. My friend stayed in a first-floor room with a queen-sized bed and a 0.9m bed. Their balcony opened directly onto the roadside, which felt a bit unsafe. A common characteristic of motels along the Great Ocean Road is the lack of curtains, with roller blinds used instead, which aren't great for blocking out light. Our room had an induction cooker and pots, but my friend's room didn't. At nearly 1500, it was also the most expensive accommodation on our Great Ocean Road trip.
I had the chance to experience the Australian hot springs. While there's no discount for hotel guests, the location is absolutely superb. We spent our days on the Great Ocean Road and evenings soaking in the hot springs, which was a fantastic combination. The hotel has two car parks; just be sure to avoid the residents' parking spaces on the apartment side.
super lovely staff, let me check in abit earlier and plenty of space in the room with comfy bed :) right near tramline and 15ish min walk to palais theatre where i had a concert so super convenient! no elevator incase you have big luggage but it was fine for me and super cool artwork around the place. thanks!

Great location.Clear instruction to check in and check out. Respond well through email.
From the moment we arrived, our experience at the hotel was smooth and welcoming. The check-in process was efficient, and the hotel itself was easy to locate, which made our arrival stress-free. A special mention goes to the front desk staff, who were not only accommodating but also genuinely lovely to engage with. His local knowledge and friendly recommendations, especially for our wine exploration, added a personal touch that made us feel right at home. Our room matched the expectations set by the photos in the advertisements. While the space was more compact than others we’ve seen at a similar price point, it was impeccably clean and well-maintained, which I particularly appreciated. Though my partner, who is quite particular about bedding, was initially dissatisfied with the bed quality, we were impressed by how promptly Adam and the team responded. Their thoughtful gesture of a handwritten card and a complimentary bottle of wine was sincerely appreciated and showed a true commitment to guest satisfaction. Overall, it was a fantastic stay. We would happily return and recommend the hotel to others looking for a friendly and tidy place to stay.
I had a really comfortable stay at this motel. The room was clean, spacious, and surprisingly quiet considering the location. The bed was comfortable, and all basic amenities were provided. Staff were friendly and helpful, especially during check-in. Parking was easy, and the area felt safe. For the price, this motel genuinely exceeded expectations. I’d definitely stay here again.
Hidden gem! Small cabin in a peaceful location Friendly staff. Housekeeping can do a better job by checking the floor more carefully. Spotted aged slices of potato chip under the bed :[ But in general, all is good. I will recommend
This hotel is so convenient and easy to see the sea view. And the all staff are so friendly and welcoming. The Hot Springs is one of the most beautiful and comfortable place.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Great location and helpful staff The hotel is really well located for the town and local attractions, including the many beautiful waterfalls in the area. We stayed in a one-bedroom apartment on the ground floor — it was clean and comfortable, with a well-equipped kitchen and convenient onsite parking. The only downside was that it felt a bit like a goldfish bowl, as there were no sheer curtains on the windows and people walking by could easily see in. The bathroom was fine, though the bath was a little tired. The lounge was lovely, especially during happy hour, and the staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay. Overall, a pleasant and convenient place to stay in Lorne.
