"The location is great . The hotel was clean and pleasant. The only fault I had was coming back after the concert( which I think most of the hotel had) the poor bar lady was struggling to serve everyone . Also stock up on your nibbles . As they ran out as well . Be mindful if you’re not very mobile , as the left is retro . And if the residents don’t close the inner door then it is then disabled . That’s not the hotels fault , but it does mean you have to use the stairs . The breakfast was good . The staff were very helpful and friendly ."

"The hotel is in a fabulous location, just a few minutes from both the town and the seafront. The check in process was simple and completed online before we arrived. Parking is chargeable and it is was tricky to find a space close to hotel without driving around a few times. There are several other parking options at varying costs and distances from the hotel. The room was clean and warm and had tea making facilities. The bathroom was clean, if dated but had a bath and a shower. The bed was 2 singles pushed together and there was a ridge in the middle but we slept well"
GGuest UserThe hotel must have been amazing in the past but unfortunately it's way beyond it's best. We had to wait 45 minutes to check in. My single room was the size of a box with no soap or shower gel. The window sill was filthy along with the window and there was a nest of seagulls on my window sill. They were so noisy.
The room doors are so heavy and noisy and people were banging them all night.
The rest of the hotel was tired and needs a good injection of money to be worthy of staying here again.
We will not be back.
All the staff were very friendly though.
SShell AAt the moment the Royal Hotel is undergoing a multi-million pound renovation project so some rooms that still need a little TLC is only to be expected.
I stayed in a standard single with sea view and what a view it was. That alone was worth every penny I paid and, for Whitby, it was a bargain.
The room itself was more than adequate and, with the exception of a bedside table for my phone and drink, it had everything I needed.
The bathroom was massive, bigger than my own at home so no complaints there either.
Whether you want your room cleaned or not, every day a package of tea, coffee, sugar, milk and toilet roll is left for you and if you need anything else, including any essentials you may have forgotten, you just need to ask at reception. We were all even gifted an Easter egg on Easter Sunday which was a lovely, thoughtful touch.
The hotel itself is really lovely and I can highly recommend The Fat Badger restaurant and bars downstairs and every single member of staff I spoke to was lovely and extremely helpful.
The only downside to booking The Royal Hotel is the climb back up on an evening but it's a very small price to pay for the best views in town.

GGuest UserWe had a great stay at the Crown Spa Hotel. All the staff were super friendly, nothing was to much trouble. The rooms were clean and fresh, we had a sea view. Meals in the Restaurant were very good value and excellent quality.
We had treatments in the Spa, the Girls were super friendly, welcoming and chatty.
We will certainly be returning.
GGuest UserThe parking was straight across the road or at back of hotel which was excellent the room was nice and clean shower worked perfectly ample storage space a very nice stay will be back 👍

KKaren NgJust a leisurely ten-minute stroll from Whitby's beautiful beach, a truly welcoming and comfortable experience. From the moment you arrive, the friendly atmosphere is palpable, making you feel right at home. Owner are happy to accommodate your needs, ensuring you kick off your day just the way you like.
Cosy room with delightful view. Overall, this hotel is a fantastic choice for anyone visiting Whitby. Its location, combined with genuinely warm hospitality and comfortable rooms, makes for a memorable stay.
GGuest UserHotel room was lovely. The location was ideal as we were at a concert at the open air theatre. Always were given all the information and had great communication with owners. Room was lovely and spacious. Bathroom was clean. The bath was cracked on the corner but was still functional. The bed was very comfy and the other amenities were really good too. Definitely will stay again.
GGuest UserBeautiful spot, however upon getting to my room the one of the lights wasn’t working, The toilet brush was disgusting with toilet roll all over it. There was a hole in the floor in The bathroom and it didn’t look clean at all.
However the hotel its self was lovely, with gorgeous views over the sea, friendly staff and the food was brilliant!
