The location is excellent, the first row by the lake, the surrounding restaurants are full of wine, the fly in the ointment is that there is no refrigerator in the room. It is suitable for self-driving, but the blue paid parking space is not easy to find during the peak hours of the holiday. Not to mention the white free one. When you are 400 meters away from the hotel, you will pay attention and there will be a parking space. The hotel does not have a valet parking service. Please inform the license plate number when you check in, otherwise it will fall into the forbidden zone and the ticket will be severe.

Not a good hotel. Only serves a (mediocre) breakfast so you need to find meals elsewhere. You absolutely need a car. You can prepare meals in your room as there is a small kitchenette, but the hotel wants €50 per day for plates/cutlery etc. disgusting behaviour. Staff are rude, we sat down for breakfast in a family of 4, the waiter shouted at us and told us to move. When I asked why he just kept saying ‘China’. There were some Chinese guests so presumably they were getting preferential treatment for some reason. He pointed to the outside terrace where we relocated to. Humiliating. Pool was ok and we didn’t fight for any sun beds so there’s that. No kettle in room or any where to sit as the sofa was made up for the children’s beds. As I said earlier you have to pay a daily fee for plates etc. 2 outside chairs with no table on the balcony. Everything you expect in a holiday hotel room this didn’t have, apart from the absolute basics such as a bed and wardrobe. Disappointing and would not recommend.

On the plus side, Hotel Bazzoni has a wonderful location, a very good view from the room balconies over Lake Como, and a terraced garden going up the hill with several swimming pools and bars. Included breakfast and a buffet supper which was good. The bar on the ground floor is also stunning. On the minus side, ***y things about the hotel are wanting. When we arrived, we were told it was fully booked and our reservation had been transferred to the sister (and much cheaper) hotel Britannia down the road. We were taken down to see it, but the room was dank and nasty, after a hard argument they agreed to reinstate us in Bazzoni. We were also chased on the final day to check out promptly - our Trip.com booking was for 11am check out but we got a call at 10.30 telling us this had been moved forward to 10am and we needed to check out promptly as they had ***y arrivals that day. The room also lacked water, coffee/tea-making facilities and slippers, and everything extra is chargable - including 5 EUR for an additional keycard (non-refundable...) and 2 EUR for a jug of water at supper. On balance, I would avoid this hotel in future - but if you chose it, come ready to argue for what you already paid for.

The view is good. If you can't book a room to see the lake, it's meaningless. The breakfast is rich and the service is average

Average hotel. Beds were okay but pillows very thin specially for a side sleeper. View off balcony was great. Spent one whole day just resting and enjoying the view. Walk to/from lake not difficult. Only major downside is that without a car you really are limited to places to eat.

The most hospitable place ever!! We did not stay overnight but had a coffee and everyone who looked after us were so polite! It is also super close to the train station and so convenient to access the city centre. About a 10 minute walk from the gardens! Thank you, would definitely recommend!!

This hotel was assigned as part of a package with a river cruise company, so I did not choose it myself. One of this property's strongest assets is its location. It sits behind Piazza Cavour, which is right on the waterfront promenade of Como. You really cannot get a better location, as it's walking distance to all the popular spots in Como. Our tour company paid for the Lake View Double Rooms, which gave us enviable views over the square and the lake. We even had a lovely semi-private terrace to sit out there and enjoy the views. Others in our group did not have a terrace, and were disappointed. Our room had two twin beds which were fairly comfortable, and the room was a decent size. The furniture and decor are all belonging to the 70s-80s era, and are in need of an update. The bathroom had so many problems. The sink didn't have enough shelf space / storage, and there are never enough towels. There was barely enough legroom between the toilet and the bidet placed directly in front of it. It just took up needed space. I absolutely detest the kind of shower/tub combo that was in this bathroom. The narrow bathtub with tall walls is extremely dangerous, as you cannot safely turn around in it while showering. Then add the ridiculous half-piece-of-glass that allows water to get all over the floor, and you have a huge safety situation when trying to step out of the shower onto a wet floor. In fact, a member of our tour group fell in the shower and ended up in the hospital. Afterward, we were offered rubber tub mats for traction - but at a minimum, those should be provisioned in every bathroom by default. More ideally, a walk in shower should be installed. There are only 2 elevators, and both are miniscule. So expect a wait, or take the stairs. The breakfast room got crowded with all the tour groups there, and the available items were mediocre. There was no self-service coffee/latte machine like so many other hotels in Europe have, which was a disappointment. Overall, this hotel has many good and bad features. If you care more about the location, this may be a good choice. But if you care more about quality of the accommodation, then you may want to look elsewhere.

You can reserve per half an hour slots. - very clean rooms - good location if you want to stay in the south of Garda - good breakfast, but many pies and cakes. I find it difficult to understand why Italians eat that at breakfast. There are many other options served though, therefore this doesn’t pose an issue. Negative points: - no fridge in the room. Especially during hot summer it’s difficult - booking said parking included for free but that’s not true. There is parking down the street and that’s what they actually mean. Their own parking garage is 50€ a night. I don’t find it correct that this isn’t advertized correctly. I heard several guests complain about this. It would be better to communicate this correctly. - their elevator is really scary. It’s old and doesn’t feel safe. Sometimes you also have to wait more than 5 minutes for it to arrive. You also can’t take the stairs as alternitive- we searched but couldn’t find another way to the rooftop. Besides these few negative points the hotel is actually great. I would recommend it as the room is nice, clean & with a balcony where you can relax.

It bas been couple of years that we are coming to the Hotel Résidence Holiday but it was the first Time in one of the DEluxe two rooms apartment and it was a great suprise. It was beautiful, clean and well furnished and organized. Entering to the living room you feel like at home. Huge sliding windows so that you can enjoy the sun all day. Fully equiped kithen, extremly comfortable beds and a big bathroom. All you need for a super stay. And I did not mention yet the 2 large balcony, one with an overview to the lake and the other one with a plesent scene of the swiming pool. I loved the enormous bed room which had planty of Space to arrange your dresses. Overall the accommodation was fabulous and the location was excellent. Lovely small hotel. We booked after seeing positive comments on trip advisor and were not disappointed. Great staff who were so helpful and really seemed to work as a team to make your stay good. Hotel, pool and grounds were kept immaculately clean. We made a last minute booking in a ”classic room” which was probably a bit more traditional in style than their other more modern rooms but suited our needs and was comfortable, clean and ideal as it was a quiet room on ground floor with outdoor seating overlooking gardens. Wide range of fresh food for breakfast. The hotel doesn't do evening meals but does snacks/ light bites and there are plenty of restaurants within walking distance of hotel. Hotel is located about 40 mins leisurely walk into the bustling historical centre of Sirmione. Alternatively a bus stops directly across from hotel for centre and runs around every 10 mins. A short walk to another bus stop takes you directly to Verona ( for only a few euros) and other lake destinations. We liked the quieter hotel location close to small marina and nice restaurants used by locals as well as visitors. Staff were very helpful arranging taxis too and from airport ( approx half hour journey) as they can be busy so pre book for important trips.

We were due to stay here in 2020 but had to push back our holiday due to COVID. Four years later we made it to Hotel Riel and were extremely happy with our room. We paid extra for a lake view which did not disappoint. The room was airy and had good amenities. The staff were friendly and dinner at the restaurant was good - we were given a free aperitif on night one. Would definitely stay again.

The travel agent nor Jet2 advised us on booking this hotel that it was due to close in October for a major refit. We found out after we had booked it. I contacted the hotel and was assured all services were in place to ensure our special (25th wedding anniversary) would be a success. On arrival the suite was a great location overlooking the lake but the room was very tired and drab, we didn’t mind that as the view made up for it. However, the services within the hotel are very lacking, fridge wasn’t topped up, even though we mentioned it at reception, some sun beds were broken and dirty, dirty parasols, breakfast was chaotic always running out of plates, cups, tea pots, we actually only had breakfast four times as both myself and my husband came down with food poisoning during our stay and were quite ill. There was no room service so even though we were ill we wouldn’t have been able to get anything brought up. I did have a couple of messages from management asking how we were. We had an evening meal one night and due to torrential rain during the day, the floor at the outdoor seating area leading to our table was wet and clearly a hazard, given a lot of elderly stayed here I was surprised we weren’t seated inside. The choice of bar snacks was very limited and mainly a burger or club sandwich which wasn’t very inspiring, the evening meal was ok but not great, earlier reviews mentioned fine dining but it definitely wasn’t, in fact a lot of the clients were complaining that they’d been previously and the standards had dropped immensely, apparently jet2 had stopped booking half board and offered refunds as there were many complaints about the food etc. the staff were pleasant and friendly but overall I wish we had changed the booking and gone elsewhere. It wasn’t a special place at all and very expensive for what we had in comparison to other four star hotels we’ve stayed at. I’m sure ten years ago it was a wonderful place.

We was very disappointed with our stay in desenzano for our honeymoon. We stayed in malchesine for 3 nights and venice for 3 nights. And to end our trip decided to stay here as it was close to a lakefront for swimming. We thought we had safely researched everything down to having to pay for chairs and umbrellas which was fine. On arrival we checked in early which was great. Our room was one of the more dated ones on the first floor. With wallpaper pealing back in places and only one pillow each. But that was OK as we are not very fussy. What we found very disappointing was the bar next door with ridiculously loud music every night. On 2 nights they had a dj which was so loud we struggled to sleep even with the shutters closed. Staff was friendly but the air con broke for 2 nights and toke to long to fix. Was 35 degrees outside felt hotter in the room at times. Breakfast was OK as long as you got down early, wasn't replenished enough. If you came down for 9.30 not alot left. Road was very busy and alot of police everywhere which wasn't the case on the rest of our trip in other hotels. We tried to find somewhere else to.stay but sadly was to late. So we decided to try to sleep there and head into other parts of the lake like sirmione and day trips into verona. I've never left a bad review for anything before. But felt very let down by the noise of the lido bar which was meant to finish at 12am but some nights went on alot longer which left us unable to enjoy the balcony we paid for in peace! We stayed in a 2 star hotel in malchesine which was by far better then this hotel ( which is meant to be 3 star) with a nice balcony and ratten furniture to relax and enjoy the views. We was so disappointed by this honestly they shoukd make it clear there is loud music throughout the night with alot of people abit worse for wear by the end of.the night. As this suits some but not us. We planned on bringing the children next year as gardaland etc is close by. Only positive is I now know not to. If you want nightlife it's perfect for you. If not give it a miss. Much better parts if desenzano to stay in

It was truly fabulous stay!!! We've been deeply impressed: The best view on the Como lake and one of the best views ever!!! Service personnel – friendly and caring, with that personal touch that you won’t get in most of the big hotels. You couldn’t get the better value for the very decent at the Como lake price! Located right on the lakefront, with a pool, air-conditioned room. We had the double room lakeview room with a big balcony, two tables and a chair on it. Beautiful view of the lake. Hotel is conveniently located, just left three minute walk and you're at the ferries, turn right three minute walk and you're at the lake shore promenade and little center in Menaggio. Breakfast was really good, and you're sitting with a lakeside view as well. Big breakfast. Rooms were very comfortable, shower is snug, like taking a shower in a telephone booth snug, but good water pressure and steady temperature, plus with the smaller shower there is more room for you to be and move in the bathroom. Bed was firm, but comfortable. Hotel staff were nice. Nice place. Enjoyed our stay

Felt the need to leave a review, which is rare but because of the amount of research I did prior to our trip to Lake Como and reading the many positive reviews of this hotel, my only hope is that this helps someone spending the same time and energy before their travels. You’ll read within other reviews that the view and location are incredible, this is true, but that’s about all the good that is offered. While the rooms are old, the beds are pretty uncomfortable and the bathrooms resemble a motel, the worst offering (or lack of offering) is the customer service. The reception does not answer the phone, ever. If you get them to answer buy a lottery ticket. One evening we departed for dinner in Bellagio and noticed that the last ferry returning back to the hotel was right before 8pm, much too early. We inquired about how to get back to the hotel after our meal and the receptionist informed us that we could take the ferry to a neighboring town (2 miles away) and to call the hotel when we were on the way and they would arrange a taxi, perfect plan if the hotel answers the phone. Lake Como travel is not easy, the ferry schedules are inconsistent and you aren’t able to easily access the best parts without a vehicle, the hotel made zero effort to assist us in transportation needs and when we would inquire about direction, recommendations, etc there was hardly any given. It became so bad that we inquired about a concierge, but the receptionist informed us that she was there to serve as such…. Lacking qualifications to say the least. We paid $350/night, we understand this is likely a steal of a deal given the hotels views and location and that’s fair, but for this hotel to be classified as a four-star property makes me question the validity of the system and if you’re still reading this review, pay the extra $100-150/night and stay somewhere else for the service alone. You’ll be glad you did.

This truly turned out to be an exceptional place. Literally right on the lake, location could not be better. Also near to some shops and restaurants in both directions along the lake road. The beautiful room was very spacious, and the bathroom was almost as big. We were fortunate to get a corner room with two balconies. Tip: Get a room with a balcony! The hotel is also on a rather busy road. The traffic did not bother us at all, but for light sleepers it might be noisy. We also tried the restaurant in the evening. The food and the service were both excellent, top notch. Breakfast was also very good, not a huge selection, but with high quality products. The staff was also very friendly. Would definitely come back!

Super location, rooms were nice and spacious with little balcony view of the lake. Really friendly front desk staff and super helpful. Good night sleep despite the busy location! Easy to walk to shops/restaurants in 2mins. Breakfast was good, but could have done with maybe more variety of fruits etc. Use of the Griffo Parking and shuttle was super easy to use. Some parking spaces at the hotel but not many available, I would ask to book a spot before arrival if needed. Overall lovely hotel in a perfect location, and the dock on the lake was perfect to swim from. We will stay again!

Hotel Smeraldo is a good budget hotel the staff are very friendly and a good buffet breakfast is supplied We booked through TUI and were allocated a ground floor room we asked to move up to a higher floor as from past experiences we know it can get noisy in the morning and this was true here as about 0630 we were disturbed by staff going about their various duties However despite the receptionist being helpful we were not able to change rooms As it turned out when we were awoken we went for a swim in the lake which was easily accessible from our room The wi fi was poor and a good connection was only available around the main reception area The best part of this hotel is that you get access to Hotel Paul across the road where lake access is better and the general outlook better and good wi fi It seems that Hotel Smeraldo is an annex to Hotel Paul Bike rental is free and bikes were in good condition for short rides The restaurant attached to Hotel Paul (Canneto) is one of the best places to eat with a good view of the lake and sunset the food is good quality and as good as if not better than many other places at good prices

From the moment we arrived until the moment we left all staff were very friendly and helpful. The reception is always manned and helpful with any questions. Our, ground floor room was perfect for us with a door leading directly to the pool. The pool was never over crowded and often only a few people in. We did several pool days and our girls loved it. The room had air conditioning which we were very glad of and a fridge where we could cool drinks etc. The rooms are cleaned everyday unless you use a do not disturb sign. The shower did have a saloon door so you had to be careful not to get water everywhere but that was a minor thing for us. The breakfast buffet was good. My daughter is Gluten Free and allergic to nuts. Staff tried very hard to accommodate for her, giving her a seperate plate of food each morning. We chose to buy gluten free bread and cereal for her to have a bit more variety. But staff were very friendly. There is a place to get a freshly cooked omelette and fried eggs. We sat outside every morning with such a beautiful view. We had a lovely time at this hotel it was a nice size with nothing feeling busy. We also enjoyed the walk to the old town each day as not far.

We stayed in couple for a weekend and we were really happy: the hotel is located in the ZTL area, but you can book a place in a parking outside at EUR 13 per day (very convenient for Sirmione prices! The hotel is located in front of the Aquaria term and 5 minutes walk from the Lido das Blondas and the Jamaica Beach. The possibility of walking between Sirmione's main attractions does not perceive the chaos and the high number of tourists who crowd the country's streets and beaches every day. Despite its central location, the structure is well soundproofed, the clean, modern and with all the necessary. The staff is very friendly and available.

In August, we spent a week in the Alevic Hotel. We didn't want to leave! It was absolutely fantastic and we hope to return one day. Perfect location, friendly staff (especially the barman, Benjamin), delicious and varied breakfast, comfortable bed, spacious room with lake views and wonderful views from the rooftop pool. We would highly recommend a stay here if you're visiting Sirmione.
