With a stay at Atagawaonsen Blue Ocean in Higashiizu, you'll be within a 15-minute drive of Jogasaki Coast and Atagawa You Yu Beach. This hotel is 13.8 mi (22.3 km) from Shirahama Beach and 0.7 mi (1.1 km) from Oyukakebenzaiten. Enjoy the recreation opportunities such as hot springs or make use of other amenities including a vending machine. At Atagawaonsen Blue Ocean, enjoy a satisfying meal at the restaurant. Buffet breakfasts are available daily from 7:00 AM to 9:00 AM for a fee. Featured amenities include luggage storage, an elevator, and a vending machine. Free self parking is available onsite. Make yourself at home in one of the 71 guestrooms. Private bathrooms with separate bathtubs and showers feature complimentary toiletries and slippers.

"I booked quite late, so only the lower-floor sea view rooms were available. Even though the hotel facilities are a bit old, it offers great value for money. Falling asleep to the sound of the waves at night was lovely. The hotel provides WeChat-based Chinese customer service, which made communication very convenient. The room was a Japanese-style room with a tatami mat. It was a bit firm, but it was a unique experience and quite nice. On the ninth floor, there's a public bath and private onsens. You can book a time for the private onsen with the front desk in advance. Soaking in the bath while enjoying the sea view was fantastic. The front desk also provided yukata (bathrobes) for guests to choose from. The only downside was that hairdryers were only available in the public bath and private onsens, which was a bit inconvenient. For transfers to and from the high-speed train station, you can book a pick-up/drop-off time on [platform name, e.g., WeChat, Xiaohongshu]. Otherwise, trying to drag luggage up the mountain road is impossible. There aren't many restaurants near the hotel by the sea; you have to climb a 15-minute mountain road closer to the high-speed train station to find eateries. Convenience stores are also near the train station, requiring a 20-minute uphill walk. I recommend buying anything you need beforehand and then taking the shuttle back to the hotel."

"This is an older Japanese-style hotel in Ito. The front desk staff are elderly and very kind, patiently explaining how to use the hot springs and yukata. The hotel has a main building and an annex, connected by a corridor on the 5th floor, and the ocean view rooms even offer sunrise views. While the facilities are a bit dated, it's still a great choice considering its convenient location and excellent value for money."

With a stay at Prince Smart Inn Atami in Atami (Kasugacho), you'll be within a 10-minute drive of Atami Sun Beach and Heiwadori Shopping Street. This hotel is 14.6 mi (23.5 km) from Lake Ashi and 15.6 mi (25.2 km) from Hakone Hot Springs. Make use of convenient amenities, which include complimentary wireless internet access and a vending machine. Enjoy a meal at the restaurant or snacks in the hotel's coffee shop/cafe. A complimentary continental breakfast is served daily from 6:30 AM to 11:00 AM. Featured amenities include express check-in, a 24-hour front desk, and laundry facilities. Self parking (subject to charges) is available onsite. Stay in one of 125 guestrooms featuring flat-screen televisions. Complimentary wireless internet access keeps you connected, and satellite programming is available for your entertainment. Bathrooms have complimentary toiletries and bidets. Conveniences include desks, and housekeeping is provided daily.

"Facilities: Basic toiletries are conveniently self-service and available by the elevator. Service: The front desk staff's English is good, and they patiently guide you through the check-in process. Environment: It's very close to the station, so all your usual food, drinks, and convenience stores are within 500m. The rooms are much larger compared to typical Tokyo accommodations. P.S. For my fellow Chinese compatriots who need hot water, remember to ask the front desk for a kettle, as it's not standard in the rooms. You can leave it in the room when you check out. Breakfast: Simple, just sandwiches and coffee or black tea. You'll definitely need to supplement it if you plan an active morning. If you want to pack it to go, you'll need to bring your own bag. The good thing is it starts early, from 7 AM."

The hotel is quite far from the business district, about a 30-minute walk to the station. It's located on a hillside, and just walking up to it takes about ten minutes. Make sure to check the shuttle bus schedule in advance so you don't miss it. We booked a sea-view Japanese room and were assigned one right above the restaurant, which blocked more than half of the sea view. The view would probably be nice on a clear day though. When we checked in, a large portion of the queue was Chinese guests. This price point seems to have been driven up by Chinese tourists, and for 2000 yuan, this sea view is simply not worth it. The room size was decent, and breakfast was good and plentiful. They didn't provide Yukio Mishima cakes, only matcha cookies and chocolates. The yukata provided was really unattractive, like something a palace maid from a labor camp would wear. There were no skincare products, just bottled water.

This was my first time visiting Minamiizu, and a friend recommended this hotel – it truly lived up to expectations! The accommodations were great, and the food was delicious. My only complaint is regarding the shuttle service. The day before check-in, I specifically asked about pickup details through Trip.com customer service. The hotel only sent a text message with the pickup time, but not the location. I assumed, like most hotels, that it would pick up in front of the JR station. To my surprise, I waited from 2 PM to 3 PM and saw no sign of the hotel bus. I started to feel something was wrong and checked Trip.com, where I saw a guest comment mentioning that after 3:10 PM, there would be no more pickups. Panicked, I immediately called the hotel. That's when I learned the hotel bus has a specific waiting point, around the corner, to the right of the JR station (and then to the right again). If this isn't communicated beforehand, and there are no signs at the station, it's impossible for guests to know where to wait. Therefore, I strongly suggest the hotel standardize its pickup service by clearly stating both the pickup time and location in advance. Both pieces of information are essential!

This is a century-old hotel with a real sense of history. Dinner and breakfast were decent, much like what you'd find at most onsen hotels, with the added local specialty of sea bream. The unique bathing experience here is thanks to the hotel's exclusive mountain elevator, which takes you to the highest point for panoramic views of the entire city.

This guesthouse is fantastic! It's an easy 8-minute walk from the train station and super convenient with two large supermarkets, a drug store, a 7-Eleven, and plenty of restaurants nearby. It’s a traditional Japanese-style home, and the breakfast is delicious and beautifully presented—the rice, fish, and soup were all excellent. The owner is incredibly welcoming and even offered to drive us to tourist spots and the station. The room was spotless and cleaned daily. The several Chinese-speaking staff members were also wonderful, making communication easy. I'll definitely stay here again when I visit Izu and have already recommended it to my friends.

This hotel is perfectly located right by the sea, offering a fantastic environment. Transportation is also quite convenient, with a shuttle bus running between the hotel and Kawazu Station. The breakfast was just okay. If you plan to have dinner, it's definitely best to book in advance. We didn't make a reservation this time and ended up being turned away by both restaurants because they were full. There was nowhere else to eat nearby, so we had to resort to instant noodles.

The room was spacious and quiet. The front desk staff spoke Japanese and English and were very friendly. The view was also great, with the ocean right outside the window. You could hear the sound of the waves with the window open, but it was well soundproofed when closed. It had two beds and a large tatami mat, which could fit two people, making it a room for four in total. There's free parking, and the hotel was clean. The shower and bedroom were separated, which was a nice touch. Very satisfied.

Amazing place to stay, aesthetic view and a great amazing dinner and breakfast ambience. I choose and booked the private villa with pool and which is good,I enjoyed the dinner foods they served us,so classy and elegant presentation. So I ordered the bottle of botega champagne which is fit for the foods they offered. Lovely it was and amazing wonderful evening. After we had a night pool with my partner and we bring our own foods and drinks champagne for the long night to celebrate our stay. I’m very satisfied for my stay at this place. Conveniently located near Shimoda Port and Black Ship Museum, it's also an easy walk from Shimoda Station and other local attractions. Our room had a lovely sea view. The service was excellent, very polite and welcoming. The facilities were great; we booked a room with a private open-air onsen, which was very convenient, and there's also a public large bathhouse and a kids' play room. The cleanliness was top-notch.
