Beach Hotels in Jeju Province, South Korea

I've been back home for a week, and I finally have time to write a detailed review of this hotel, named after the ancient Silla kingdom. First, the good points, which are the only things I found worthwhile. The hotel is built into a cliff, boasting unique natural scenery. It cleverly integrates lush vegetation into one side of the hotel, creating a rich and layered temperate island characteristic. Strolling through it is incredibly relaxing. In the distance is the surging sea, and nearby are cliffs and a sandy beach – being there is truly enjoyable. Now that I've covered the good, here are the things I found intolerable and unacceptable: 1. The room the hotel provided was not the one I booked. I had reserved a mountain-view room with a balcony, but they gave me a room without a balcony, and the window overlooked a parking lot. 2. After I requested a change, the hotel moved me to another room. It did have a balcony, but it was still near the parking lot. 3. What made me even angrier was that the hotel clearly hadn't cleaned thoroughly. In the new room, I found uncleaned hair in the sink and water stains in the bathroom. The picture shows hair in the basin. 4. After communicating with the hotel again through Trip.com, the hotel staff at the front desk was expressionless throughout, with dull eyes and mechanical service, showing no apology whatsoever. They showed me another room that was even worse than the current one. I had no choice but to ask the hotel staff to clean it again, and I ended up waiting for nearly two extra hours because of this. 5. The hotel breakfast was terrible. The local specialty food was extremely unappetizing and hard to swallow. The coffee used low-quality beans. There was an area that seemed to be for Chinese food, which was completely unrecognizable. The fruit selection was basic, truly basic. The only edible options were the Western food and ice cream, which were actually good. Perhaps you might think my review is harsh, but given the room rate I paid, I feel I have the right to be this critical. And for breakfast, at nearly 300 RMB per person, honestly, 'basic' is the only word I can use, especially for the fruit. The entire staff at the Shilla Hotel seemed to have a grim, tense, and deliberately distant demeanor, which was genuinely off-putting. Overall, I'd say this hotel completely fails to meet expectations. Many areas need significant improvement. If I had to choose again, I definitely wouldn't stay here.

Old hotel, needs renovating however we enjoyed our stay. Relatively close to the beach. We stayed here for 5 nights. Overall we enjoyed our stay but there are some issues we faced. Firstly they began to tell us they couldn’t accept my Korean issued ID and needed to take a 200,000 won damage deposit (this sign was written in English and showed to us at check in). Once they realised I was using my Korean ID card and bank card they suddenly didn’t need to do this which we found this confusing and wondered if the policy is only applied to some guests. We were also given an information sheet that said we had to “use the room cleanly or we will be charged” meaning we were always conscious leaving in the morning due to thinking we will be charged so we couldn’t fully relax. The room is big but old. The floor wasn’t hoovered for 2 days so sand was still on the floor. The room overall wasn’t well cleaned…we found spiders on the head board and we couldn’t walk on the terrace due to the board lifting. On our final evening, we found sand from night one still on the shower floor. Every night there was so much noise from the room above making it hard to sleep. However there are some positives. The staff are friendly and answered our questions in a polite manner, it’s a great location close to the beach and the room is a good size. Overall, we enjoyed our stay despite there being some things that need to be improved. For the price we paid, it was an okay stay, however we won’t be staying here again and if we paid more than we did we would be disappointed.

Oh my goodness, this Ocean Hotel seriously exceeded my expectations! I only booked a twin room, but to my surprise, there was another small room inside! You could even put down a floor mattress! It could easily accommodate 4-5 people! The price was also quite reasonable (I hope they don't hike up the prices in the future!). Plus, it was exceptionally clean. Although the front desk lady didn't speak Chinese, she was incredibly patient and used a translation app to answer all our questions. And it's right across from the ocean, so the views are fantastic! Behind the hotel is Chilseong-ro Street, and there's even an Aesop store! Stussy is right downstairs! The location is truly excellent for getting great photos. I'll definitely stay here again next time I'm in Jeju Island, it's really great! Too bad I forgot to take photos inside the hotel!

The room was spacious and bright, with excellent facilities. Both the pool and gym were quite good. Breakfast was plentiful, mainly Western-style, and truly top-tier for a 'Western-style meal'. The croissant was the best I've had in any Asian hotel. The hotel is right by the sea, and an evening stroll along the coast was delightful.

We stayed at Lotte Hotel Jeju in Seogwipo with our two kids for a family trip. The location is absolutely amazing, right in the heart of the Jungmun Tourist Complex. It's just a few minutes' walk to the beach, and taking the kids for a stroll along the coastline in the evening was incredibly pleasant. The Teddy Bear Museum is right next door, so the little ones could visit it easily. Cheonjeyeon Falls is also just a short taxi ride away. The hotel's family-friendly amenities are excellent, the grounds are beautiful, and the room was clean and comfortable, making it a very reassuring stay with kids. A quick chat about dining – what to avoid and what to recommend: The BHC fried chicken downstairs was just average and a bit overpriced, so I wouldn't recommend it. Definitely seek out Woonchi for authentic Jeju black pork; the meat is firm and tender, making for a fantastic BBQ experience. Also, try the long-standing Snail Noodle Soup; the broth is fresh and delicious, the snails are plentiful, and it's a dish that everyone, young and old, will enjoy.

Staying at ShinShin Hotel Jeju Ocean and honestly… location is 💯 Just minutes away from iconic spots like Eodolgae Rock, Cheonjiyeon Waterfall, scenic trails, and the lively Jeju Olle Market—everything is so accessible. The food? Surprisingly good. The room? Huge, spotless linens, and a wow factor with a massive smart TV—perfect for Netflix & YouTube nights after long walks. Comfortable, clean, convenient… definitely a great base for exploring Jeju 🖤🌊

Absolutely loved this hotel! 1. The staff were all incredibly friendly and went above and beyond to help, even with a slight language barrier. 2. The hotel facilities are excellent, especially the large and safe swimming pool. 3. It's within walking distance to Pyo Seon Beach, which was clean and not too crowded. I'll definitely be back and will recommend it to all my friends!

We had such a warm and memorable stay as a mum travelling with my adult daughter, all thanks to our wonderful host, Mr Doldam and his lovely wife, Sue. Communication was so easy as they speak English well, and they thoughtfully shared helpful tips on places to visit around Jeju, which made our trip even more enjoyable. We accidentally stayed out past 9pm and missed our bus, and our host kindly came to pick us up from the village stop about 10 minutes away—something we truly appreciated. They also helped send us off to the bus stop for our airport transfer, making everything feel smooth and well taken care of. Breakfast was a real treat too—simple and wholesome, especially the homemade bread and tangerine jam 🍊 It truly felt like being welcomed into a home, not just a place to stay. Thank you!

Spent 3 nights at this lovely hotel in the Dongmun area in Jeju. It is an established hotel at a convenient location. The airport limousine makes its stop there. You can have your dinner there at affordable rates. A special shout out to one of the staff (a middle aged bespectacled guy who spoke excellent English) helped to arrange for a cab from Hallasan trail back to the hotel as we missed the last bus back to the city. Thank you so much for your hospitality and kindness.

Facilities: Quite ordinary. Hygiene: Excellent. Environment: Very good, typical of a resort hotel. There's an indoor and outdoor swimming pool, a large lawn, a beach, and forest trails. It's on Olle Trail Route 7. Service: Decent. Recommended.
