Hotel near Shiquan Street/Pan Gate Scenic Area,Suzhou
AAnyaxiaofenhong 2026.04.30
My stay at Pan Pacific Suzhou was absolutely fantastic! The hotel beautifully recreates the aesthetics of the ancient Wu Kingdom from the Spring and Autumn period, with its pavilions, terraces, and waterside promenades showcasing classic Suzhou elegance. Every step offers a picturesque view. As a project under Singapore’s GIC and Temasek, its unique foresight in choosing a prime location in the heart of the ancient city back in 1995 is remarkable. It also boasts a rich history, having hosted numerous dignitaries. Guests can enjoy free access to Panmen Gate by using their room key, and it's incredibly convenient to visit core attractions like Canglang Pavilion, Lingering Garden, Suzhou Museum, and Xiyuan Temple. Plus, the hotel's own restaurants, like Ruigarden Noodle House, are definitely worth trying – it truly enhances the overall experience!

The hotel is right next to Dongguan Street, and across the road is the Canal Wharf. There are many restaurants nearby, making it super convenient for dining and sightseeing. However, it's quite lively, almost a bit chaotic. They do have parking. The booking stated check-in at 3 PM and check-out at 12 PM, which is a later check-in time than most hotels in China. I arrived at 2:50 PM and was told the room wouldn't be ready for another 20-30 minutes. Since I was tired, I prompted them twice, and ended up checking in at 2:57 PM, three minutes early. The front desk staff was very nice, and they even offered complimentary fruit upon arrival. The room was small, and the sink was right next to the bed. It was quite noisy outside until about 10 PM. The breakfast offered a good variety, including local specialties like fried rice, dried tofu strips, and 'yaorou' (jellied pork), and it tasted good too. However, the dining area is small, and on the first day at 8 AM, it was packed with no seats available. It might have been better to skip breakfast and eat dim sum outside. When checking out, I noticed my car had been cleaned, which was a lovely surprise. Thank you! 😊 At over 630 RMB a night (for a non-weekend/holiday stay), it felt a bit pricey.

Hotel near Xuanwu Lake Scenic Area/Jiming Temple,Nanjing

🌸 A sunny March is the perfect time for flower viewing. Carrying a slight regret from our last trip and a lingering fondness for Nanxiang, we embarked on this Nanjing journey, with the Nanjing Shangri-La, of course, as our first stop. 1. **Location**: The hotel's location is superb, right next to Xinmofan Road Metro Station, making it incredibly convenient to reach all major attractions. It's also very close to Xuanwu Lake, just a few minutes' walk away. Strolling along the lake, with willows swaying and flowers vying for attention – the dazzling tulips, the blooming crabapples (some green, some red), and especially that expansive cherry blossom grove. From a distance, it looked like a pink mist. A gentle spring breeze would bring a shower of cherry blossoms, petals fluttering down and scattering, softly carpeting the earth in pink. The peach blossoms were not to be outdone, white, pink, and crimson, blooming profusely on the branches, attracting countless busy little bees and adding vibrant color to the lakeside spring. 2. **Room**: We stayed in a lake-view suite again this time, and I'm grateful to the Horizon Club staff for arranging a high-floor room. The room was clean, tidy, spacious, and bright, with a large living room and bedroom. The floor-to-ceiling window offered a side view of Xuanwu Lake, which was a slight pity. There was no separate walk-in closet, the luggage rack was rather high and narrow, and the bathroom toilet wasn't smart and wasn't separated, all indicating the hotel's age. However, the room service was commendable. They were always responsive, not only providing a luggage rack and a drying pole but also bringing a pot of orchids, which added color to the room. When we mentioned that the welcome dessert wasn't very good, they immediately replaced it with cherry blossom cupcakes and chocolates the next day, which was very thoughtful. 3. **Dining**: The hotel's 'Jiangnan Wok' restaurant specializes in Huaiyang cuisine and is a Black Pearl two-diamond establishment. The restaurant has an elegant ambiance, and the waitstaff are all polite. The 'Clear Broth Lion's Head' was fragrant, soft, and melted in the mouth, while the 'Huaiyang Soft Wok Eel' was silky smooth and tender, our absolute favorite. The unexpected surprise was the 'Stir-fried Beef with Brisket Fat' – the beef was tender and aromatic, with excellent wok hei. Being spice lovers, we also ordered the 'Jiangnan Wok Maoxuewang,' which was also excellent. The large chunks of eel and generous shrimp balls showed no skimping on ingredients, and the flavor definitely rivaled external Sichuan and Hunan restaurants. Personally, I found the pan-fried buns just okay. The 'Xiao Xian Rou' crispy pastry reminded me of Shanghai's fresh pork mooncakes, but felt like it lacked a bit of juice. Breakfast at the ground-floor buffet used to impress me, but this time, the taste felt a bit off compared to before. The 'Jiangnan Wok' breakfast selection was rich, the duck blood vermicelli soup was very fresh and delicious, and the handmade soup dumplings were also good. The beef potstickers had a fragrant filling, but the crust wasn't crispy enough. The bread and pastry section had a variety of choices, but the taste felt average, especially my favorite caramel egg tart, whose crust was soft, almost as if it had been microwaved. The Horizon Club breakfast is semi-buffet style, with a la carte options available. The pan-fried salmon was exquisite and delicious, and the duck blood vermicelli soup was generously portioned and very fresh. The restaurant's bread station even had a small toaster, allowing guests to heat their own bread, which was a thoughtful touch. However, I felt the standard had declined compared to before; the Eggs Benedict were solid, the beef in the Nanjing beef noodles was tough, and the steamed buns in the steamer were sometimes not hot, affecting the taste. Although the happy hour offerings were quite rich, the taste was average. Even more unbelievable, we found plastic wrap in the food – this shouldn't happen at a Shangri-La brand hotel. Nevertheless, the service attitude of the staff, whether in the ground-floor restaurant or the Horizon Club, was still very attentive and enthusiastic. I also encountered an unprecedented issue at the gym. For two consecutive days, I was stopped at the entrance because the staff said my room card and room number didn't match. Later, the duty manager likely issued a new room card, but it canceled my previously noted late check-out, causing me to be unable to enter on check-out day, which was quite embarrassing. Although the gym operates 24/7 with room card access, the restroom is shared with the pool, and it's unavailable after staff leave at 11 PM, which is inconvenient for guests who come to work out late. In summary, this stay brought me both joy and sorrow. I hope the hotel can strengthen its training and management to reach new heights and become a landmark of Nanjing, a place one thinks of when Nanjing is mentioned!

Couldn't believe there was such a stylish hotel right in the popular Shantang Street scenic area. As soon as I walked in, I was drawn in by the unique design. The lobby was very spacious, and even more surprising was the complimentary minibar in the room, stocked with BaiSuiShan water, which was a nice touch. The hotel offers a free shuttle service to and from the station, which I didn't get to use since I drove, but parking was also free. That's a real rarity in the old city center where space is at a premium. The breakfast also had a great variety. Overall, a very satisfying trip.

Choosing this hotel for my Yangzhou trip was absolutely the best decision! The experience was fantastic from the moment I arrived – the security guard proactively helped open the car door and carry my luggage, and the front desk staff were gentle and efficient, getting me checked in within 3 minutes. The room features smart voice control, and it's fully equipped with a Dyson hairdryer, smart toilet, and capsule coffee machine. The bedding was so comfortable I didn't want to get out of bed! The biggest surprise was the amazing balcony view; I could see the beautiful sunset in the evening! Room service deliveries are handled by a cute and convenient robot. The location is superb, very close to Slender West Lake and Dongguan Street. For breakfast, they even offered authentic Gaoyou salted duck eggs – rich and oily, perfect with white porridge! The parking lot also has charging stations, which is a huge plus for electric vehicles. Upon checkout, the butler even gifted me some Yangzhou Niupitang (a local candy) as a souvenir. A hotel with such perfect hardware, service, and attention to detail is truly rare in Jiangsu. I'll definitely be booking this place again on my next visit to Yangzhou! 💯

This time, my family and I stayed at the Jinling Hotel, and it happened to be my birthday. I was truly touched by the thoughtful service of the fairy housekeeper – she deserves a massive shout-out! The housekeeper proactively reached out beforehand to confirm the delivery time for my birthday cake, arranging everything perfectly. The next day, we spontaneously decided to have the cake delivered earlier. After contacting her, she immediately helped coordinate the change without hesitation, responding super quickly! As a renowned five-star hotel, Jinling Hotel's service certainly lives up to its reputation. The housekeeper was enthusiastic, attentive, gentle, and patient throughout our stay. Every detail showed how much effort she put in. This stay wasn't just about accommodation; it was a birthday experience filled with surprises and warmth.

When I booked, I saw that it was a newly opened hotel, so I thought it would be pretty good. And it definitely exceeded my expectations. Several young men were there to help us as soon as we entered, and the manager helped us upstairs, opened the door, and carried our luggage. Most importantly, the room didn't have that unpleasant smell of new renovations; even the elevator smelled nice. The room was also much more spacious than other hotels in the same price range, clean and comfortable. We had a very comfortable stay, and both adults and children were very satisfied with the breakfast. In short, it was truly excellent and fantastic. There were some services we didn't get to experience this time due to time constraints, but I'll definitely stay at this hotel again next time I have the chance. The pictures were taken before check-out. I sincerely recommend it, hence this positive review. I hope it continues to be this good.

For the Qingming holiday, I chose a trip to Nanjing, and this hotel was carefully selected. Although the price was a bit high during the holiday period, the overall experience was great. Especially the room manager gave us many pleasant surprises. They were very accommodating with room changes, sent wine, and even some fruit. The overall experience was excellent. Since the scenic spots were crowded, we spent most of our time at the hotel. The breakfast selection was also extensive. However, my only suggestion is to stock more pillows during holidays. I'm particular about pillows and requested a firmer one upon check-in, but was told they were all taken by other guests. So, I think it's necessary to improve the supply for holidays! The bedding was still very comfortable though.

Extremely satisfied with this relaxing getaway! The environment is exceptionally serene, and the outdoor landscaping and water features are very elegant. You could easily stay around the hotel without feeling bored. Nearby, there's Langshan Scenic Area and Binjiang Park, both within walking distance, making it perfect for a leisurely holiday or a wellness retreat. Membership offers a lot of discounts, including on dining. When I added breakfast separately, the hotel automatically applied a discount, which was very generous. The dining prices are all very reasonable, and the food is delicious. The front desk and concierge staff, both the young men and women, provided excellent service, offering friendly reminders about various things. Elise from guest relations was also wonderful; she called a day in advance and noted a room upgrade, and when I arrived, the front desk already had it arranged. I'll definitely be coming back here for future Chinese New Year holidays.

GGuest UserThis hotel boasts a beautiful environment and an excellent location with convenient transportation. There are plenty of dining options on Shiquan Street and Fenghuang Street. It's just a five-minute walk to the Master of the Nets Garden, offering a peaceful retreat in a bustling area. It consistently provides a comfortable stay and is my go-to hotel whenever I visit Suzhou. The front desk staff provides attentive and detailed service, and the housekeeping team is warm and proactive. The hotel breakfast is quite rich, and I highly recommend the local specialties like Suzhou-style noodles, pan-fried buns, and crab roe soup dumplings. The hotel's Yanyanglou Noodle Restaurant is also worth recommending; the group purchase voucher offers great value for money! I've stayed in the duplex room multiple times, and it's perfect for family trips – highly recommended! The only minor disappointment was that during my Chinese New Year stay, L'Occitane toiletries were provided, but for this May Day holiday, they were replaced with an unknown brand. I hope the hotel continues to maintain its high-quality standards!

GGuest UserAn absolutely amazing experience! This hotel truly blew me away! It's such a hidden gem that genuinely deserves a review. I just hope the prices don't skyrocket after I share this, haha! I was incredibly satisfied with the hotel's ambiance, service, and price. You can really tell how much thought went into every design detail, perfectly blending with Suzhou's Song dynasty aesthetics – I absolutely loved it 💕 The hotel is right by Jinji Lake. I tried the crab roe noodles at Sumianfang, took some beautiful garden photos they offered, and even got to try out various pillows during my stay. I particularly enjoyed the hotel bar; its design and lighting gave me such an international vibe. The staff were all incredibly patient, responded to messages quickly, and the service was just fantastic! I was lucky enough to get a room upgrade, and I'll definitely be staying here again on my next visit to Suzhou!

__CFT010000001094****## Environment: The hotel is located right by the Qinhuai River, so you step out straight into scenic views – it's beautiful, there's great food, and a lively atmosphere. We booked a street-view room, which admittedly was a bit noisier, but we had such packed days that we slept soundly every night, so it wasn't a major issue. ## Room: The room included complimentary fruit upon check-in, two facial masks daily, and small drinks in the mini-bar. The lighting in the room was a bit dim; it would have been much better if there was a brighter main light or a desk lamp. ## Service: I really want to commend the service. Even before we checked in, the hotel called to ask if we needed to reserve a parking spot and our approximate check-in time. They proactively sent the hotel's location to ensure we wouldn't have trouble finding it in the scenic area, which was very thoughtful. After we checked out and left, we realized at the airport that I had lost my bracelet. I contacted the hotel to help check the room, and the staff were incredibly efficient and diligent in finding it. They quickly arranged for it to be couriered to my home. I am truly, truly grateful – it brought a perfect end to my Nanjing trip! 🌹

LLvzhexiaoenHuazhu She · Suzhou Moke Garden Cultural Hotel A hidden gem near Pingjiang Road, this hotel boasts a garden with a history spanning several centuries. Guests and casual visitors are separated by an electric privacy gate, which effectively safeguards privacy. Initially, I was concerned about mosquitoes, but my worries were unfounded. Aromatic mosquito repellents are placed everywhere in the garden; they are effective and not overpowering. The staff also regularly check and replace them. The hotel offers complimentary cultural performances for guests. With only 12 rooms, guests enjoy undisturbed peace. I stayed in 'Guanhua Hall', which was advertised as 45 square meters but felt more like 50+. The interior design eschews modern minimalism in favor of authentic garden-style rosewood furniture, meticulously restored from an old mansion. Every corner of the room was impeccably clean, a testament to the owner's exceptional upkeep. At my age, I truly appreciate this kind of classic ambiance. The butler service was also superb – highly responsive and incredibly attentive. A shuttle service is provided for both arrival and departure, and the breakfast, a healthy home-cooked meal, was absolutely delightful. This hotel is truly a place to slow down and quietly immerse yourself in the experience – a serene oasis in the heart of the bustling city.

BBrendayayaI originally booked another hotel, but when I arrived, there were no rooms available. Trip.com helped me switch to this hotel within 15 minutes, which was very efficient 👍. I thought the environment would be pretty similar, but I was genuinely surprised. First, the hotel is located inside the scenic area. The staff contacted me in advance to send the location and even offered to pick me up from a specific spot in the scenic area. However, it was so easy to find that I just went there myself. Check-in was incredibly quick. A chatty uncle helped me with my luggage to my room and also mentioned that the drinks in the fridge were complimentary, reminding me about breakfast times again. The suite on the second floor was very spacious. Both the room and bathroom were exceptionally clean. There were TVs in both the living room and bedroom, and the view from the balcony was also quite nice. The hotel also features small bridges and flowing water, giving it a unique Suzhou garden style. The breakfast selection wasn't extensive, but everything tasted pretty good. I heard there's also a restaurant in the hotel. I was alone this time for a concert, but I'd like to bring my mom next time.

JJeffa5Hotel location inside Fuzimiao (Confucius Temple) zone is excellent. Stepping out from the hotel entrance into the pedestrian-only street are tonnes of restaurants and stalls.( Everyday I was spoiled for food choices.) Yet, the hotel remains sheltered, calm and insulated from the outside festivities. The room I stayed for 4 nights was spacious, clean with air-conditioning. Shower water pressure and hot water was excellent. Everyday a bag of fruits (banana, orange, apple, pear, cherry tomatoes...) were dropped off. All the snacks and drinks in the room were included (free). Overall, the hotel was not luxurious (in the traditional 5-star sense) but contains a captivating charm that transport one back to Chinese antiquity. It was a pleasant stay. One minor blemish was the in-room safe not working as it should. Reception said hardly any guests use the room safe. That's understandable given the overall safe environment.

GGuest UserThe place is beautiful. The rooms/cottages of the hotel are spread around a nice area. There is a vegetable garden and kids could feed the goats and rabbit. My kids loved the hotel and the room. Front desk gave us kids slippers and toothbrushes and a bag full of treats and snacks for the kids. Beds were very comfortable and the family room was beautiful with a balcony looking to the canal. Black swans swimming in there. The private outside hot bathtub was cool. They gave us some activity tickets (kids cookies baking, two free coffee cups and free entrance to the park beside), sadly we couldn’t use them, because we came noon and went to visit a different area , then left the next day after breakfast. The outside hotel surroundings are nice and peaceful. The food was great! Breakfast buffet is delicious. I would recommend it. There was a staff speaking English, but was not necessary for us. The service is very good and friendly…I’ll return.

JJimbly168Whenever I return to Suzhou from abroad, I always choose Pingjiang Lodge. It holds a special place in my heart because I used to walk past it and Pingjiang Road every day on my way to school. Plus, the hotel boasts a 500-year-old 'Half Garden.' Though small, it's a quintessential Suzhou garden where you can sit and enjoy tea, complete with parrots that say 'hello.' It's truly a remedy for homesickness, no need to visit other gardens. The service has always been exceptional. During this stay, I mentioned that it had been 40 years since I left Suzhou, and Manager Xiao Tang at the front desk immediately upgraded my room and sent some fruit. Breakfast is decent, and the hotel's homemade toppings are authentic – I look forward to them every morning. The location is absolutely perfect; Pingjiang Road is right outside, and popular attractions like Humble Administrator's Garden, Lion Grove Garden, and Suzhou Museum are all incredibly close. There are also various specialty snacks and restaurants nearby. Aside from the crowds of tourists, it's practically flawless. Staying here makes me so happy; it truly feels like coming home.
