Convenient option if you’re arriving late or catching an early flight, as the hotel is very close to Kunming Airport and saves you the trip into the city. The airport pick-up and drop-off service is smooth and reliable, which makes arrival and departure hassle-free. Check-in was easy, and the staff were welcoming. A small but thoughtful touch was the complimentary flower cake on arrival, which added a nice local feel to the stay. Overall, a practical and comfortable choice for a short airport stopover.

The hotel's location is excellent, with direct access to Nanping Pedestrian Street, Kunming Old Street, and Jinma Biji Archway right downstairs. It's also a 5-minute walk to the subway station, and a 10-minute taxi ride to Green Lake Park and the Yunnan Military Academy. The surrounding area is packed with local snacks and long-standing eateries. The rooms are well-equipped, spacious, and bright, with clean, separate wet and dry bathrooms and automatic toilets. The breakfast buffet offers a wide variety, including freshly made Yunnan rice noodles, *rubing* (a type of cheese), flower pastries, and other local specialties, as well as Western options like cheese, coffee, and pastries, providing a great blend of Chinese and Western choices. The service was warm and courteous; staff even proactively recommended local delicacies, and the concierge kindly helped with our luggage. We also received complimentary fruit.

Unexpectedly, I got upgraded to an executive king room at the Intercontinental Xishuangbanna – what a pleasant surprise! The room was spacious and elegant, with a perfect blend of Dai-Thai style and modern amenities. The bedding was incredibly soft and comfortable, and the smart bathroom, separate bathtub, and well-stocked mini-bar were all fantastic. Opening the window revealed a beautiful tropical garden, offering peace and privacy. The service was attentive, and the facilities, from the guest rooms to the public areas, were impeccable. The location is also superb: just a 20-minute drive from the airport, and conveniently close to the Gaozhuang Starlight Night Market and Manting Park. It truly offers a tranquil retreat while being close to all the action. Overall, a truly luxurious and enjoyable holiday experience!

My stay at the Sofitel Kunming with a Dianchi Lake view room was absolutely perfect! The high-floor, panoramic French windows offered stunning views – during the day, I could see Dianchi Lake and the Western Hills in the distance, and in the evening, the sunset painted the lake beautifully. The nighttime city lights were incredibly soothing. The room's French-style soft furnishings were elegant, and the MyBed bedding was so soft and comfortable for sleeping. The bathtub with a view, paired with Lanvin toiletries, created a fantastic atmosphere for a relaxing soak while enjoying the scenery. Young at the front desk provided thoughtful service and handled check-in efficiently. The room was clean and odor-free. The hotel's location is convenient, and it has excellent facilities including a heated swimming pool and a high-altitude restaurant. The French design blended with Yunnan characteristics makes this view room the top choice for a vacation in Kunming. Highly recommended!

Our stay at Shangri-La was truly unforgettable and exceeded all expectations! Before sharing details about our stay, we would like to give special recognition to several team members whose outstanding service made such a positive impact on our experience: 麦克, 小钢, Alan, 小罗, and 小雨. Each of them demonstrated exceptional professionalism, kindness, attentiveness, and genuine care. We are writing this review in large part because we hope management is aware of their incredible efforts, as they truly represent the very best of the hotel’s hospitality. Even before we arrived, the team created a WeChat group and warmly welcomed us, making us feel cared for from the very beginning. The service throughout our stay was exceptional. Upon arrival, the staff helped carry our very heavy luggage to our room and consistently went above and beyond to ensure we were comfortable and enjoying our time at the hotel. After check-in, 麦克 gave us a detailed tour of the room and thoughtfully explained how to use the oxygen supply, which immediately put us at ease. He was also incredibly helpful in recommending places to visit and things to do in the area. His advice, including reminding us not to shower on our first night due to the high altitude, helped us acclimatize comfortably and avoid altitude-related discomfort. We also had the opportunity to make flower candles during our stay, which was a wonderful experience. A special thank you to 小钢, who patiently guided us through the activity and even carefully packed our finished candles so beautifully that all we had to do was pick them up and bring them home the next day. It was such a thoughtful gesture and a wonderful example of the attention to detail that made our stay so special. One of the highlights was the beautiful property and the adorable animals on-site. Alan even took the time to cut fresh carrots for us to feed the goats, which was such a thoughtful touch and made the experience even more enjoyable. The hospitality never stopped, no matter how late it was. We returned to the hotel around 11pm one evening after a long day of exploring, and 麦克 prepared comforting hot dessert soup for us (despite it being past the time for dessert soup). It was exactly what we needed and such a memorable gesture that made us feel truly cared for. Another moment that stood out was late one night when we realized we needed extra towels and pillows. 小罗 responded quickly and kindly helped us get everything we needed despite the late hour. His willingness to assist us so promptly made us feel incredibly well looked after and was yet another example of the outstanding service we experienced throughout our stay. We were also especially grateful to 小雨 for helping us navigate a Taobao return during our stay, which could have been quite complicated without her assistance. Several other staff members also kindly helped with collecting my package. Their teamwork and willingness to assist with something beyond the usual scope of hotel services truly impressed us. As our trip came to an end, Alan kindly drove us to the train station early in the morning and gave us a warm send-off. It was the perfect ending to an already wonderful stay and reflected the genuine care and hospitality we experienced throughout our time at the hotel. The warmth, attentiveness, and sincerity shown by every member of the team made our experience in Shangri-La truly wonderful. Every interaction reflected a level of hospitality that is increasingly rare to find, and their genuine care played a significant role in making this trip so memorable. We are incredibly grateful for the experience and would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Shangri-La. We will definitely be back!

I love the traditional decoration of the hotel, it transports you back to the ancient time. However, the car cannot go in, you have to push your luggage into the street where the hotel is located. It's very near to the big malls and walking distance to the old town. Hotel was very nice to pack our breakfast for us because we have a train to catch early in the morning and the restaurant is not open yet.

Traveling with a girlfriend, the first important thing is the hotel, the second is the food. I have been to Maitreya many times. To be honest, the hotels in Maitreya are currently online, but the mountain residence I stayed in this time was really pleasant. It is completely the reception standard of a foreign five-star hotel. Whether it is a check-in gift or an supporting facilities in the hotel, it can make people spend a very happy day in the hotel. The design of the lobby is full of collisions of Chinese and Western elements. The space is large. The hand-made coffee level in the lobby is very online! The hot spring on the first floor has a public bubble pool and a private soup. The key is that the ventilation is very good! Not stuffy at all!  Drive by yourself and stop next to the hotel, it is very convenient to go out and play.  My most pleasant surprise is actually the body milk equipped by the hotel, which smells really good! I used half a bottle, and I took the rest away. I am going to find the same model online hahaha.  The price is not cheap, but it is definitely worth the money, and the experience that is worthy of the price is the real quality price ratio in my opinion!  I didn't shoot the room because I arrived too late and slept in a mess. You can see what others took. Clean and advanced!

Lijiang Jinmao Hotel has an amazing vibe! Tucked away right next to Shuhe Old Town, its Naxi-style architecture and garden landscapes are beautiful, with a new stunning view at every turn. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, the bedding is plush, and you can even see the mountains from the lobby. Plus, they offer many hands-on craft activities. Angel provided thoughtful and attentive service, and the breakfast was abundant with local specialties. It's super convenient for exploring the old town and visiting Jade Dragon Snow Mountain. Definitely my top choice for a relaxing vacation, I'll be back!

I'm on my way to Mile right now, taking a break to write this review! This is the first time I've ever felt compelled to give a hotel a positive review, mainly because Ms. Bianca's service was absolutely amazing! The day before we arrived, she proactively contacted us to ask about our needs. When she learned we were traveling with a baby, and since the hotel couldn't provide a bed rail, she upgraded our room and arranged for two beds to be pushed together. Every evening before we returned to the hotel, there was turn-down service, with water replenished, and the room was cleaned twice a day, so it was always spotless and tidy when we got back – it truly made us feel great! For deliveries and takeout, after contacting the hotel, the concierge would bring them directly to our room; the service was incredibly attentive! They never seemed bothered and always greeted us with a smile. We rented an electric car after landing in Kunming, and there are charging stations in the underground parking at Spring City 66, very close to the hotel! The freshly baked flower pastries at breakfast were absolutely divine! Better than any I've bought elsewhere!!! The latte art in the coffee was so therapeutic! I travel frequently for business and leisure, and I've stayed in many five-star hotels, but I've only seen latte art at breakfast once before, at a hotel in Singapore! They also had freshly made Eggs Benedict! Our child loved the colorful glutinous rice – the chicken noodle soup was just so-so. When our child vomited in the middle of the night, we contacted room service, and they changed the sheets and duvet covers very quickly! At 3 AM, we took our child to the nearby Kunming Children's Hospital, where he was diagnosed with acute gastroenteritis and put on an IV drip. I contacted Bianca to ask if we could have a late checkout. The front desk had initially said 2 PM, but Bianca, considering our little one hadn't slept all night, proactively offered to extend it to 4 PM! This gave us ample time to rest and pack. Being in a different city with a sick child and experiencing such thoughtful service truly made us feel grateful! We will definitely stay at the Grand Hyatt again next time we're in Kunming! Thanks again to Ms. Bianca! 🌹

GGuest UserThis trip to Lijiang, I first stayed at the InterContinental, and then moved to the Banyan Tree. I felt that the Banyan Tree had a very strong resort vibe. Because it's near Shuhe, it's closer to the snow-capped mountains, offering better views. The hotel upgraded our room, and the snow mountain was visible right from the balcony – it was spectacular. Abby also took great care of our itinerary. We participated in a blessing ceremony organized by them, making it a truly fulfilling trip to Lijiang.

GGuest UserThe room was spotless, and I slept soundly. I was pleasantly surprised to find the hotel has three restaurants! For a quick bite, there's the buffet. If you're craving Yunnan hotpot, head to Yiduo Cloud, and for Cantonese or Sichuan cuisine, Xile is the place. They really cover all taste preferences, and the prices are very reasonable. Having hot springs, dining, and accommodation all in one place made for a super convenient and relaxing experience!

AAnonymous User1. **Check-in Area:** The check-in counter, or front desk, was quite shabby. The computer keyboard was practically caked in grime, and don't even get me started on the sofa next to it – it looked very unhygienic. 2. **Dining:** The breakfast area was a bit cramped, with just four small tables by the street. If you're a party of more than two, you'd have to sit separately, or you might even have to stand and wait for a table. The coffee, however, was good. I only had breakfast once: a cold quinoa salad (see Photo 6) served with bread that had an overpowering artificial creamer flavor. I had been looking forward to the rice noodles for the next day, but serving didn't start until 8:30 AM, which was far too late for my rumbling stomach. Early risers and those who prefer hot meals should seriously consider other options or make alternative arrangements. 3. **Room (2nd floor) - Noise Issues:** Don't even think about getting any sleep at night. After 11 PM, there was still noise along the street, along with the clanging of the garbage truck. (Seriously, I'd strongly advise against staying in the Old Town.) The next day, it started pouring before dawn, and the sound of the heavy rain kept me awake as well. 4. **Room - Facility Issues:** The room I stayed in was supposedly the quietest in the entire hotel. It featured a large bathtub and a bathroom where the toilet and shower area lacked wet/dry separation. Unable to deal with the wet floor, I decided to shower in the bathtub. That's when I discovered Problem #1: the glass partition was completely transparent, with no curtain or frosted glass. The staff member claimed this was 'design.' Then came Fatal Problem #2: the bathtub had no running water, haha! 😄 5. **Room - Odor Issues:** Upon entering, there was a strong musty smell. The staff claimed it was due to 'raw wood,' but it's been 8 years and it still smells like that? Quite amusing. 6. **Staff (Pre-Check-in):** Before I even checked in, they asked me to cancel my booking on the platform and pay them privately for a discounted rate. I have this in writing. This is definitely a huge red flag, and I'm surprised they even dared to suggest it. 7. **Staff (General):** The individuals themselves were nice enough, but I was surprised to find that all the 'Jixiashan' staff were quite young, without uniforms, and seemingly without direct supervision, which gave a very disorganized and casual impression. 8. **Housekeeping:** I was quite satisfied with the housekeeping. Seeing the clean duvet and towels gave me peace of mind (P.S. the pillows were also comfortable). The hotel's facilities are very old; no matter how clean the bathroom tiles were, they still looked run-down, compounded by the dim lighting. Therefore, I feel the housekeeping staff here really have a tough job. 9. **Building Structure:** One morning, during a heavy downpour, when I opened my 2nd-floor room door, the entrance was essentially flooded up to my heels. It was quite a feat that the water didn't spread into the room. At night, there were no lights, so I had to grope my way back to the room along the dark corridor. It would be quite difficult for someone who doesn't remember their way (see Photos 1-2). 10. **Hotel Amenities:** One night, I heard the guest next door return, unable to open their door with the key, and had to call a staff member for help. They chatted for a bit outside the door before the staff member finally told the guest a 'trick': 'The key needs to be inserted a certain way, and the lock has a particular mechanism...' That's quite a struggle – needing a special technique just to get back to your room! 11. **Minor Details:** The room key had a very large, bulky leather tag attached to it. Absolutely no consideration for travelers on long journeys with limited luggage space. Who would want to carry such a bulky thing around? I originally had high hopes for the 'Jixiashan' brand. When I was in Shangri-La, I heard their Meili store had a collaboration with Kolon, which made me think they had good taste. This Dali Ancient City location is their first store, but it turned out to be such a low standard. Given the daily rate, I guess I understand why. This particular store cannot be found on 'Jixiashan's' mini-program; it's categorized under 'Wang Shenme Chuan Qu Le'.

WWoshiyewangStayed for 2 nights from June 7-9, 2026. The special package I bought on Ctrip offered incredible value for money! The hotel staff were very attentive; they'd proactively greet guests anywhere within the hotel. The standalone villa was indeed spacious. Although the room facilities are quite old, you can still see the high standards and quality of the original setup! However, for a five-star hotel, providing purified water instead of mineral water for guests felt a bit like cutting corners. Sitting in the small courtyard, enjoying tea and conversation, was truly delightful. The landscaping design, arrangement, and maintenance throughout the villa area are all beautiful, especially the view of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain from the restaurant plaza – it's absolutely breathtaking! The hotel's breakfast selection is extensive, and the quality is excellent, with a beautiful and comfortable dining environment. As a resort hotel, it achieves a high standard and a perfect balance across all aspects, including location, environmental quality, and service level.

GGuest UserI was very satisfied with my stay at Hotel Indigo Lijiang this time. The location is excellent, right at the South Gate of Lijiang, next to the InterContinental Hotel. You can even have breakfast at the InterContinental. Hotel Indigo's breakfast is semi-buffet style with à la carte options, generous portions, and a good variety. The hotel room was very clean and well-arranged, even larger than the room we stayed in later at the InterContinental. The concierge staff were also very enthusiastic, providing pick-up and drop-off services. On the first day, we were greeted with welcome fruits. The staff escorted us to our room and meticulously explained how to use all the facilities, only leaving after ensuring we had no questions. The service felt very thorough! When we checked out, we asked the front desk staff for directions to Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, and the front desk agent was incredibly enthusiastic and patiently explained everything, which deserves a special commendation! If I had to suggest any improvement, it would be that the water pressure from the faucets isn't as strong as at the InterContinental, but everything else was excellent. Next time I visit Lijiang, Hotel Indigo will definitely be my first choice.

GGuest UserThis was the best hotel of my whole trip. I don’t speak Chinese, but communicating on WeChat worked perfectly, so everything was very easy. The staff were honestly amazing — super kind, patient, and always ready to help. You can really feel how much they care. They provided free pick-up from the station, which helped us a lot since we had big luggage. The roads in Lijiang Old Town are quite small, so this made everything much more convenient. The location is also great, easy to walk everywhere in the old town. On my last day I had to leave very early, and they even prepared a takeaway breakfast for me. At night, they also gave us warm milk, which was such a nice and thoughtful touch. I just want to say thank you to all the staff. They made my stay really special. This is actually my first time writing a hotel review, and I truly mean it. Highly recommend staying here.

GGuest UserI rarely write reviews, but I simply couldn't resist for this hotel – it's absolutely exceptional in every single aspect. The complimentary airport and train station transfers are a huge plus, and the service is incredibly warm and enthusiastic. They proactively help with all your luggage, big or small. The transfer vehicles are also very comfortable and spotless. Upon check-in, everything in the room is free except for the red wine – instant noodles, drinks, beer, water, coffee, yogurt, and Yunnan black tea are all complimentary. They bring a generous amount of fresh fruit daily, and there's 24-hour rice noodle service, which is a lifesaver for anyone not accustomed to local food; you'll never go hungry. Every evening, there's also tremella soup available. The front desk even has complimentary snacks, fruits, and flower cakes for guests to enjoy. And the room itself? Speechless. The videos and photos on their website are an exact, 1:1 representation of the actual rooms – absolutely no photo trickery. What you see is precisely what you get. The room is impeccably clean, and the array of amenities is extensive. My parents are usually quite picky about hotels, but they absolutely adored this one, praising everything from the room facilities to the balcony views and the spaciousness of the suite. They insisted that on their next trip to Dali, they must stay here again. And most importantly, the staff – from the front desk to the transfer drivers, the F&B team, the ladies who help with luggage, the gentlemen who deliver rice noodles and tremella soup at night, and the three cleaning ladies – everyone is incredibly polite, enthusiastic, and friendly. The owner of this hotel is truly fortunate to have assembled such a fantastic team. The hotel's location, combined with the suite facilities and the wonderful staff, makes for a top-tier experience. I wholeheartedly recommend that everyone visiting Dali *must* stay at this hotel at least once – it's absolutely worth every penny!

GGuest UserThis was my second time staying at this hotel, and it was just as great as my first visit. On both occasions, the staff kindly upgraded our room due to availability, which was a really pleasant surprise. We ended up with larger rooms that were even more comfortable and enjoyable to stay in. The room was clean and very comfortable, making the overall stay very relaxing. I also appreciated that the room looked almost exactly like the photos shown on the Trip.com website—no unpleasant surprises at all. What stood out the most was the staff. They were consistently friendly, welcoming, and always willing to help, which made the experience even better. Would definitely return again!

WWitidaThe hotel located near tourist attractions, making it easy to go on foot. The room was spacious and clean. The staff was friendly and helpful. Since we can't speak Chinese, they contacted us with a translation app. The breakfast was excellent with a wide variety of choices. I suggest everyone to try crossing-the-bridge noodle. They also offer tea in the afternoon and desserts in the evening. Along the way from the hotel to Kunming old street you can see local lives. We saw groups playing chess right in front of the hotel, giving a vintage atmosphere. The only thing i'd like the hotel to improve is that the water in the shower wasn't hot enough.
