The butler and proprietress here are incredibly warm and welcoming. When the butler heard we were going to the scenic area, he immediately offered to drive us there without a second thought. In the evening, the proprietress saw we hadn't eaten yet and invited us to join them for a home-cooked meal. That pot of cured beef was absolutely divine, with an authentic Hunan flavor. Breakfast wasn't limited to just a few items; you could order whatever you wanted. The toasted bread deserves special mention – crispy on the outside, soft on the inside. Paired with a cup of their signature berry tea, that's what a peaceful morning in the mountains feels like. Stepping through the door, you can tell a lot of thought went into the design: solid wood complementing marble, high ceilings, floor-to-ceiling windows, rattan furniture, and a splash of red chair, all harmonizing perfectly. The dried lotus pods in the hallway and the photos of peaks on the wall are all Zhangjiajie through the proprietress's lens – stone peaks in the mist, terraced fields in the morning. Wang Wei's line, ”White clouds turn back and gather, green mist enters and disappears,” suddenly made sense. Treehouses are built along the mountain slope; stepping out, you're enveloped by mist, leaves, and the scent of the mountains. This place feels more like a mountain retreat lovingly nurtured. There are also thoughtful details that make you feel well taken care of: both a washing machine and a dryer are available, which is great because it's humid in the mountains, so you don't have to save clothes to wash at home. Toiletries, a first-aid kit, smart home features, and rattan diffusers in the room are all provided. The most remarkable thing is how clean it is – corners, crevices, bedding, everything looks spotless at first glance, and it remained that way even on our third day. Our experience at Cloudland Garden during our stay in Zhangjiajie completely exceeded expectations. The scenery itself is free, but the feeling of being genuinely cared for is what this place provides. Next time we visit, we'll definitely stay here again.

The hotel fully lived up to our expectations! The view from the room was absolutely breathtaking. The smart room controls were very convenient and easy to use. The hotel grounds are lovely, with scenic walking paths and swings that create a very relaxing atmosphere. Breakfast was not extremely varied, but everything was delicious — be sure to try the shaomai! In the evenings, you can order local Chinese dishes prepared by the chef. The food is excellent, although many dishes are designed for sharing and the portions are quite large. There are also snacks available at the reception desk. The weather in the park can change quickly, but the hotel sells both raincoats and shoe covers for rainy days (surprisingly useful!). The hotel also provides a shuttle to the park entrance, which is only a short distance away. I would also like to give special thanks to the hotel staff for the airport transfers and for their invaluable assistance throughout our stay. They helped us plan our sightseeing itinerary, purchase tickets, and were incredibly responsive to any questions we had — whether about the room or even our travel plans during the day. Their support made our trip much easier and more enjoyable. Thank you so much ❤️ When planning the trip, I recommend allowing at least two full days for the park itself, plus another one or two days for Tianmen Mountain and the Glass Bridge. Keep in mind that these attractions are about an hour’s drive from the main park and the hotel. I would also highly recommend visiting the 72 Wonder Tower in Zhangjiajie City in the evening. The atmosphere there is incredible, with live performances, actors in costume, and beautiful light installations that make the whole place feel magical.

Plus, the hotel offers a 7-seater shuttle service, so transportation is a breeze for families. The room isn't huge but is exquisite in every detail. The bedding is comfortable, and a relaxing soak in the tub at night washes away all the day's fatigue. Manxin was the third boutique hotel I chose for my trip to Hunan. It's located in a village nestled in the mountains. The owner leased nearly a hundred acres of land to create the idyllic farm he envisioned. Several two-story buildings are artfully scattered amidst rice paddies and lotus ponds. An infinity pool offers unparalleled views of the distant mountains. The rice seedlings have just been planted, and in a few months, one can truly experience the scene described by Xin Qiji: 'A bountiful harvest is spoken of amidst the fragrance of rice flowers, as the croaking of frogs fills the air.' **Environment:** The hotel's environment is exceptional. Surrounded by distant mountains, perched on a gentle slope, every room offers expansive views of lush greenery. The rice fields are close by, and at night, the sound of frogs fills the air. Each room boasts a large balcony. Sitting there, breathing in the fresh mountain air, sipping a cup of tea or coffee, time seems to slow down. **Hygiene:** The hotel's hygiene is top-notch. Despite being surrounded by farmland, there are surprisingly no mosquitoes or other insects in the rooms, which is quite rare. **Facilities:** As a meticulously crafted guesthouse, it offers all the amenities of a high-end hotel, especially the infinity pool with its unbeatable mountain views – truly an inspired touch. Of course, as a 'wild luxury' (my own definition) hotel, to encourage guests to truly reconnect with nature, the rooms intentionally lack televisions. This thoughtful decision is commendable! **Service:** Being far from the city, service is particularly important for guests. The hotel provides dedicated butlers who promptly address guests' questions and requests. Their efficiency is high, usually responding to guests almost immediately. The hotel offers complimentary airport/train station transfers, as well as unlimited complimentary transfers to the Zimu Pass (middle gate) of Zhangjiajie National Forest Park, which is incredibly helpful for guests. **In summary:** This is a uniquely positioned hotel. For travelers who love nature, appreciate peace and a slower pace, and have high standards for hotel quality, this hotel is definitely worth a short stay. **Final Suggestion:** Given its rural location, its own farmland, and the fact that it raises poultry and bees, the hotel should further leverage its unique advantages in terms of ingredients and cuisine. It could also appropriately guide local farmers to cultivate organic vegetables, fruits, and various eco-friendly produce, making a beneficial contribution to rural revitalization. I believe some guests would appreciate this.

The environment is fantastic, with mountain views right outside the room. You can tell a lot of effort went into the landscaping—kudos to the owner. The B&B is an 8-minute drive from the East Gate, and the complimentary shuttle service makes getting around super convenient. The service was excellent too. The rooms were spotless, and they offer laundry and drying services. They also provide pick-up and drop-off at the train station (the vehicles are all very new!). The on-site restaurant serves delicious food with very fresh ingredients. There are quite a few international travelers staying here. It has a genuinely authentic Chinese style, beautifully designed, and is perfect for a relaxing vacation.

The standard room I booked was the largest I've ever stayed in at a Ji Hotel. It had a separate dressing area, a work area large enough for three people to sit in, a large TV, and was quiet, clean, and new – a very comfortable stay. It's only a 10-minute walk to the East Gate of Yuelu Mountain, perfect for those taking the route of entering from the South Gate and exiting from the East Gate. Exiting from the East Gate allows you to easily return to the hotel.

The hotel is right next to the Xiangjiang Middle Road Station on Metro Line 2, with Juzizhou just across the river (one stop away). Walking to Taiping Street, Pozishi, Chaozong Street, and Fengying Xili is very convenient. I booked a 5th-floor river-view room, but Xiao Liu at the front desk kindly upgraded me to the 28th floor, offering a fantastic, unobstructed view. The room is spacious and beautifully decorated. There are charging cables provided in the room, and the charging speed is much faster than the slow chargers you usually find in hotels. Breakfast at the restaurant has a decent variety of food, and the taste is quite good. The housekeeping staff in the hallway were very warm and welcoming. Areas for improvement: 1. There are three passenger elevators and one service elevator, but during the busy morning peak hours, a cleaner pushed a large cart of supplies into the passenger elevator. 2. There are very few two-seater tables in the restaurant; most are large four-seater tables or even round banquet tables. When it gets slightly crowded, you are forced to share a table with strangers, which is quite awkward. 3. The biggest issue is that the room is super noisy during the day—not the hotel's fault, as I suppose most riverside hotels are like this. I ”investigated” a long stretch of the riverfront ”Waitan” area, which was packed with powerful speakers and people belting out songs at the top of their lungs. Does Changsha actually consider this ear-splitting noise a scenic highlight?! Absolutely incomprehensible! Totally unacceptable!!! Fortunately, most of these people go back to bed at night, but on one night, someone was still practicing their vocals past midnight!

[Parks info below] I'm glad that I checked out this hostel, good value for money. Room was nice and tidy, lots of electricity sources in bed and common area, curtains, hot shower. I shared the 6 beds dorm with just another girl, and you make your own bed. No toilet paper, no free water refill, no light in bed. It's worth the price. If you extend your stay directly in the hostel it's cheaper than the app. The reception area is more cramped but you can socialize there. Most of the people are Chinese but I also met some foreigners. The guy in the reception speaks English and can give you information, in addition to that I recommend you to do your own research. There are two baby cats playing around, and an adult one. You can get to the hostel from the west railway station by bus line 17 for 2 yuan - last bus at 8:40pm + 15 minutes walk. Location is close to the main avenue where there's a lot of restaurants, and a 24-hour convenience store close to the corner with this same avenue. There are two night markets in the city, one on the avenue like 10 min distance walking to downtown direction, more local, and another one on the street in front of the tianmen mountain cable car, more touristy. The hostel is 15 minutes walking to the central bus station where you can get the bus to zhangjiajie park and 15-20 to the tianmen mountain cable car station. [ATTRACTIONS] Zhangjiajie (avatar), tianmen (heaven's gate) and canyon (glass bridge) are 3 different parks in different locations. The entrance to zhangjiajie gives you access for 4 days. I went the 4 days and enjoyed it very properly. If you're short on time, 2 days will do, but plan it wisely based on your priorities. Gates are 1 hour trip distance from the central bus station - 1h30 at weekends. Also, note that before entering the park with passport and face scan, you need to do an APPOINTMENT for that hour. You usually do it there at the gate, but for a saturday all appointments for that hour were sold out in advance and I had to wait for 45 minutes to go in. Recommended to check in advance especially on weekends. There are 2 types of tickets you can get: including all cable cars and elevator for unlimited time for 450 yuan; or just the entrance (including only free shuttles) for 215 yuan - you still have the option of buying each transport at the park (75 yuan cablecar one-way, 65 elevator one-way). At first, I had understood that to see the avatar mountains, the ONLY way was through the elevator, so I bought the all-inclusive. Turns out you CAN go by free shuttle + hike + free shuttle if you start in the east gate. My favorite part was the huangshi village. For tianmen, the entrance is 260 yuan. Choose the route in advance because some sell out fast. Gold advice: go at least one hour or more BEFORE the hour that you have the tickets for. The hour of your ticket just matters before the very last point before boarding the cable car. The line was MASSIVE and it took me 2h30 waiting on a Monday - ended up getting in 2 hours late than my ticket time and couldn't finish the whole loop: took only the red trail and went down to the heaven's gate. About the Canyon, I can't say much because I decided to skip it and save the 210 yuan ticket - note that this price DOESN'T include the activities, you must pay separately. The package that includes almost* everything is 360 yuan. Last but not least, if you go to the 72 Wonders, there's also an entrance of 88 yuan. You can go/come back with the bus 17 - same line that serves to the west railway station, last bus 8:40pm.

A very unique and memorable stay in Zhangjiajie! We stayed 2 nights in the Morning Glow King Suite Bedroom. The highlight of this homestay is its cave concept. The reception area is huge, impressive, and beautifully designed, creating a real wow factor upon arrival. The property also features a cave restaurant where breakfast is served, and dinner can be arranged with advance booking. There is also a cosy cave lounge for guests to relax. Our room was large, comfortable, and very clean. The facilities were well maintained and the overall atmosphere was peaceful and relaxing. Location is excellent. The homestay is hidden behind the famous theatre performance venue but only a short walk to the main street, making it convenient while remaining quiet. Highly recommended for travellers looking for a unique accommodation experience in Zhangjiajie. The cave setting alone makes it worth staying here.

Cangshan Shadow Villa is truly a hidden gem in Zhangjiajie! Its location is a major advantage—very close to the East Gate of Zhangjiajie National Forest Park and just a short drive to Baofeng Lake Scenic Area, making getting around and sightseeing extremely convenient. Tucked away in a quiet spot amidst the hustle and bustle, the guesthouse features its own vegetable garden in the courtyard. You can see rolling distant mountains the moment you open the window, creating an immersive, rustic mountain atmosphere. The guest rooms are spotlessly clean, with meticulous attention paid to hygiene details. The room amenities are thoughtfully chosen, featuring De Rucci mattresses paired with goose-down bedding that is soft and comfortable. There is also Evian bottled water and high-end toiletries, making it a wonderful experience to come back and rest after a tiring day of hiking. The owner and their family are warm and attentive, offering free pick-up and drop-off services throughout the area. They also helped us customize a complete Zhangjiajie travel itinerary based on our schedule, patiently explaining the attractions and ticketing details, which saved us a huge amount of hassle in planning. The guesthouse is packed with facilities, including a mountain-view swimming pool, a calligraphy room, a KTV, and a tea room. During downtime, you can sip tea in the courtyard, practice calligraphy, and quietly take in the mountain views. The restaurant is headed by a professional chef; breakfast can be customized upon request, using fresh ingredients and delivering outstanding flavors. From the hardware, cleanliness, service, and dining to the facilities, everything is exceptional. Whether you are entering through the East Gate of the Forest Park or visiting Baofeng Lake, Huanglong Cave, or the Grand Canyon, it makes the whole trip worry-free. Highly recommended! The next time we visit Zhangjiajie, we will definitely choose to stay at Cangshan Shadow Villa again!
