The hotel's location is great, about a 15-minute walk from Cardiff train station, and very close to Cardiff Castle. I asked the staff and learned that the hotel is over 400 years old. It used to have an underground tunnel connecting to Cardiff Castle, but it was sealed off after the 2014 NATO Castle Gala. The hotel itself has a castle-like style, and the mini-elevator feels like a step back in time. Breakfast was delicious, and they offer free luggage storage.
Everything was excellent. Great welcome by Karl. Useful local tips. Spacious room. Quiet neighbourhood. Great parking. Superb breakfast.
This hotel offers has an uniqueness, which we thoroughly enjoyed including the lounge / library area. Nice broad selection of books available as well.
Well located, next to Cardiff Central train station close to everything. Not located in Cardiff centre but short walk only about 10mins or so. Super clean n comfy AC room. Clean n new towels. Shampoo, conditioner n body wash provided. A safe deposit box but without a mini fridge. spacious family room as per website pics. Located at G floor n have to go down n also climb a few stairs before reaching room.Laminated floor which is a plus point which is more hygienic. Toiletries provided upon requested. Friendly n helpful staff and able to assist more than expected. Truly Satisfied stay. Wil stay agsin in the future.
Very satisfied with a stay.
Hotel location is very good, five minutes walk from the train station and bus terminal, and 15 minutes to Cardiff Castle. There are several supermarkets and restaurants nearby, which is very convenient. Although there are not many reviews on Trip.com , I saw that the hotel business was very good when I checked in, and there were many foreign tourists staying in the store.
The hotel room is very spacious, enough to spread out two trolley boxes, the bed is also big enough for two people to sleep. Although the hotel is located close to the street and train tracks, the room is quiet: carpets are laid in the corridor to avoid noise, windows and walls are soundproofed, and no train or street noise is heard for two nights. The room window has a good view and you can see Cardiff Bay. There is air conditioning in the room, and cooling and heating are fine. There is no drinking water in the room, but you can pick up lemonade for free on the first floor of the hotel.
The front desk that helped me check in was very warm and friendly, and took the initiative to introduce the activities held on the day of Cardiff Castle and explain the route in the past. I regret that I forgot his name. I remember that he was a young white male without glasses. I have traveled in several cities in the UK this time, and the front desk of this hotel is definitely the most welcoming of the hotels I have stayed in.
The fly in the ointment is that there are two employees on the first floor of the hotel at the same time, and there are hotels on the first floor, restaurants, bars, vending machines and luggage storage. I feel that the employees are very busy, whether it is the restaurant ordering, checkout or check-in, luggage, It takes three or five minutes for them to come over. The staff are friendly and conscientious, but really busy. It would be nice if the hotel could arrange more staff on the first floor.
I’m a female solo traveller who had an absolutely wonderful stay. I read some reviews that complained about the noise, but to be honest if the window is closed it would only be a muffled sound. This is in the heart of the city so it was to be expected. A group was singing donation karaoke outside which was funny to listen to.
Cleanliness-wise, it’s fine. There were a few stray hairs from the previous guest and a few areas were dusty, but you could tell they just focused on the main areas. So not incredibly clean but good enough.
The front desk folks were very friendly and I felt secure in this hotel. You had to buzz in after it was a later hour, which was good so the drinks don’t wander in. Also I am happy that this room had air con. Would love to return here again, everything I wanted to do was within walking distance!
The hotel is situation opposite the castle and convenient to the Town Centre
Rooms are big and clean. Wifi was intermittent
Breakfast was good and all Staff helpful
Great location
Decent hotel, centrally located close to the train station making it a very convenient place to stay. Staff very welcoming and took into account my special request and booked me a quiet room which was appreciated.
Breakfast, nothing special, just like any other hotel breakfast in the uk. Good views at the breakfast area, staff on hand to help and often going out of their way to help.
Service was 10/10.
Rooms themselves felt a little old and could do with a touch up but comfy enough for a short stay! Coffee machine too!
Great location, convenient for sites. Good rate which included breakfast. Difficult to get to by car. Using Waze is much better.
Didn’t get the room type booked but managed for 2 nights.
Agent at checkin took several minutes before acknowledging me in the queue. I would have been happy being told ”I’ll be with you in a few minutes” instead of being ignored whilst he chatted with his colleague about what seemed to be an issue. I believe because he was distracted, we weren’t given any hotel information - i.e. location of lifts, breakfast time etc. which is standard.
Breakfast service wasn’t great the first morning. Second morning was much better. I think it’s because we arrived at approx. 10:30 on the first day and the team was ready to go as I could hear them counting down the minutes to the end of their shift. No hot drinks offered; told drinks were on the buffet when in fact they needed to be ordered. Drinks eventually brought on asking again, but no cups. Had to ask for them.
Quite noisy at night because of all the bars and restaurants outside, which meant the window couldn’t be left open, as the room was quite warm, despite adjusting the temperature of the HVAC system.
Very nice, modern hotel, could improve with better staff training.
I stayed here for a business trip for one week. The room seemed to be clean but it is so dark that you can’t really tell if it is clean or not. That’s actually an issue - the lightening is bad. I couldn’t really work in the room since it had only a yellow ambient lightening and not a normal main source of light. The bathroom can be slightly cold if you don’t leave the door open so that warm air from the A/C can enter. It is shameful that they don’t have a breakfast included, especially for long stays in the hotel which is not so cheap and out of the center… at least one small sandwich would make things better, but nop 👎🏼. Another thing is that the area is not very nice. Unless you have to do something in that area, i don’t recommend you to stay. I was even told by taxi drivers to not walk around alone after it gets dark. Before I knew that, I did take a walk and it really felt a bit unsafe. The staff was ok, I didn’t have much contact with them. Only had an incident when I arrived - they couldn’t find me in their system (it was booked under other name by mistake but I actually changed it a week before arrival so I don’t know why they didn’t have updated information). There is a small gym, but almost all machines, except one, are for cardio exercises. Almost no restaurants or shops in the area.
It was a pleasant stay in Future Inn. Staff are very approachable and reliable. The hotel serves delicious food, in huge proportions as well. The hotel is always clean and has a welcoming vibe. Will definitely come back when I visit Cardiff again.

Great
GGuest UserThe only reasons I gave 4/5 stars for service was the self service hot beverage station and making your own toast. Order their specials better, however, this time my poached eggs were not soft. Excellent wine and excellent bar lunch which they allowed us to eat in the restaurant which was a bonus. I love this location. Walks through the wetlands and to Penarth and easy links to Barry Island. Spa brilliant and the quiet area next to the gym brilliant for reading
DDivyaCThe hotel is conveniently located and close to everything, which is a big plus. However, the overall condition of the property feels quite dated. The taps weren't functioning properly, and the washroom could definitely use better maintenance.

GGuest UserCheck in was a little slow, our room wasnt ready at check in time however they gave us complimentary drinks as an apology so we had a drink while we waited am extra 30minutes or so. The ladies at reception were very polite and helpful, rooms were clean however the only downside was our shower drain was blocked and that took an army to solve. We ended up switching rooms in the end but the communication was terrible. Breakfast was good although their coffee machines seemed not to work properly for most part of the morning. Overally a good hotel, excellent location, pool was warm, sauna was good, gym was a bonus. A relaxing stay
NNickRZWe arrived just before check-in time and were allowed to go into a room, but the room had opaque windows. We booked over 3 months ago, just expected what we asked for, not first come put them in there. We then waited for another room, to then get a double bed and a fold away bed instead of two twin beds. Lots of old furniture nonsense which was now in our way as not enough space due to two beds. Beds were comfy but arrangement was not.
The breakfast was very nice, could choose kippers if you wanted.

GGuest UserIt's pretty good in Wales. It's very close to the train station. The restaurant on the first floor of the hotel is very popular. The bar at night is also good.
