GGuest UserAll of the staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly during my stay which added to the experience. The hotel is truly lovely and the setting is beautiful. The rooms are well appointed and the views from the rooms and bar were amazing but it’s the high level of customer service that makes me want to return and recommend this hotel as a place to stay in Wakefield.
GGuest UserIt was a lovely hotel very clean rooms, comfy bed.
However remember to book your breakfast the night before otherwise it cost £17 per person instead of £14 ( was a bit of a kick in the teeth) buffet style breakfast so food wasn’t particularly hot and we were waiting around for lots of items to be replenished even though it wasn’t to busy.
Big queue for the coffee machine as one was broken so only one working.
Upon check out don’t forget to enter your car Reg if you had parked in the Docklands car park where you get a discount.
All in all a pleasant stay in a great location
GGuest UserThis was mine & my daughter’s second visit to the hotel, the first time was excellent on all counts. This time sadly the breakfast wasn’t very good, the sausages, eggs & hash browns were luke warm & tasted like they had been sat there for quite a while, so we ended up leaving that food. Also, sadly, the two coffee machines were out of order so we just had to have instant coffee.
Our room was lovely & spacious though & the reception staff were nice & friendly. The hotel is in a good location for walking into the city centre.
GGuest UserPoor customer service.
There is an info in the room that taxi can be booked at reception desk. We went to reception and the staff member only pointed at the phone numbers and told us we could book it ourselves. She didn’t even get up from her chair or come over to assist us .
Room only ok, lots of dust in the bathroom ventilation vent
GGuest UserRoom by reception, very very noisy.
No soap and shower gel in the bathroom.
No hair dryer. Hotel wasn’t busy and there was plenty of rooms of the same one we booked but, they chose to stick us there. That room should oy be used when hotel is at capacity. Think the receptionist was only interested in upgrading us for an extra fee. She sort of blackmailed us, she said this is your room if you don’t upgrade, like wth
AAnonymous UserThe room is a normal-sized one, equipped with 2 British twin bed (Width: 130~140cm), and it was prepared in an acceptable condition. Air-conditioner is available, but you may find that it need to be turned on for 2~3 times a day, as the system had been set in an economic mode by the hotel. The breakfast is a typically British one, whilst baked mushroom is not provided. Nevertheless, the breakfast tastes good, and you could serve yourself with chocolate croissants, cheese, hot tomato mush, vegetarian-friendly sausages, honey, tinned peaches and coconut yoghurt. Toothpastes and toothbrushes could be ordered with a fee (£2), thereby you'd better rake your own's. The location is reasonable, since the hotel adjoins the John Lewis shopping mall, and there's only 10-min walk way between the hotel and Leeds coach station. Meanwhile, you may walk to the Victoria and Trinity shopping centres in 15~20 minutes from the hotel, though it might be a bit inconvenient to travel to the nearby downtown by bus, given the lack of bus stops next to the gate of this hotel. Overall, it's a foolproof option for someone who anticipate a lodging experience surpassing the average level there.
GGuest UserI made the reservation at 12-07 arriving at about 3-15 - 3-30 and had requested an extra blanket but was told this was not possible because I had made the booking late and reception did not have any!! These are woodland cabins and I should have thought this would have been a common request and extra blankets readily available.
The cabin was heated by a movable electric heater that took hours to warm the cabin.
The doors closed with difficulty possibly because of repeated painting and there was paint over the metal handles. The outer door did not close from teh inside. There was no where to sit in the cabin and no free surface to set things as the only suitable surface, a desk, had a free standing TV on it. There was a wardrobe but it smelt fusty.
The food was good but the service was slow because the restaurant seemed understaffed with teh barman helping as a waiter.
The setting is beautiful and the staff are very pleasant. There is ample tea and coffee in teh room and a kettle.
RRealerTheGreatMy 3rd time here. Always the best budget place to stay! Easy access to motorways, huge amount of parking spots! And not to mention, easy access to the service station next to it with Starbucks, McDonald’s, KFC.
Will come again!
AAlanAsoundAmazing hotel, perfect location, very clean. I wish I had more time to have a bath, etc!
The staff was friendly too.
A couple of hiccups: my card didn’t work, and another customer had the same issue at the same time, so it must be common. Also my shampoo pump didn’t work so I couldn’t shampoo.
