Dan Panorama Eilat

The last time I was at the Dan Panorama Eilat was in 2019, Pre Pandemic. Truthfully, I was not sure what to expect. I was not disappointed. Let's start with check-in. I arrived at the hotel at 10 PM. Due to the new App that the Dan hotel has, I was able to already be checked in. By the tie I got to the hotel, all the receptionist needed to do was hand me my key. After a long flight and long drive to the hotel, that was exactly what I needed when I got to the hotel. Also, the receptionist on duty was kind, professional and friendly. Food- The dining room breakfast is very good. They have something for everyone. Different Fishes, cheeses & vegetables. They have plenty of different types of egg, pancakes, cereals and pastries as well. Personally I loved the fruit. I also ate dinner in the hotel dinning room. They had a huge selection of foods for everyone. Personally, I thought the entrecote burgers they had were absolutely amazing. The room- I booked a terrace level room. It comes with a large terrace and jacuzzi. When the sun rose and set, the terrace was a great place to be. The room was spacious and clean. Executive lounge- Along with the terrace level room came access to the executive lounge. This is a great place to relax after a great day of touring. While the selections are not a lot, what they have is good. Also, they do have items in the kitchen they are not put out like soup and pastas. The mushroom cheese ravioli I had was out of this world. Service- There was on issue that happened during my stay. However, once the hotel heard about it, I was immateriality contacted by Ruet of Guest Services and she handled the situation with the utmost professionalism. For, that, I thank her! The one piece of advice I have is the hotel should re-evaluate certain times within the hotel. For example, the dining room opens at 7:30 AM. This is a little late if your starting your day early. The executive lounge closes at 9 PM. This seems a little early. These are just suggestions and should not be seen as any type of criticism. All in all, I had a wonderful time at the hotel and will certainly return.

Breakfast is not suitable for Chinese taste, but you can experience the Dead Sea style and local food in Israel. There are many types of buffets. I am not very suitable as a northerner. Hehe

Hotel facilities are good, belonging to the general star hotel, there is a pack of dead sea mud in the room, there is no private beach but close to the beach, walking about ** sea public beach about 5 to 10 minutes, parking at the hotel entrance But not much, stop at the open space outside the hotel, including breakfast and dinner, satisfactory food quality

Pros (many) Shiran, Vivi, Sivan reception attendants were professional ++ Price: even cheaper than Eilat youth Hostel with a full breakfast 1. Room Basic But Spacious + Kettle, coffee, tea, big fridge + Bathroom with really strong pressure and very hot water which is great 2. Parking + 25sh/day but enough free spaces not far, easy to find (I found 3 different areas very close or close enough) 3. Good/Bad (depending on your preferences) Location: right at the center of Eilat 4. Free Sunbeds 20min walk till Maman Beach, but then... free 5. Breakfast ++ very good, great diversity No tailor made espresso nor eggs but then for this price what you get is way more than expected Just look at the attached pictures Cons (many as well) Shiran, Vivi, Sivan reception attendants were just professional, not really nice nor pleasant Room: just Basic 1. Noise - one of the worst hotels ever Not soundproof at all: I even heard my neighbors' alarm clock at 4:50Workers and neighbors spoke loudly and even shouted in the very long corridor. They felt obliged to share their joy and happiness when coming back from a restaurant or nightclub at 12pm, 1am, 2am and up till 4am...awful Fortunately I had brought my earplugs with me. 2.Window and Curtain There is Always some light. No real darkness Fortunately I had brought my sleeping mask 3. TV hardly visible: less than 10 stations but worse, quality was awful) 4. Location: not really close to from the beach (10min walk when …hot) 15-20min walk till the sun beds on Maman Beach, but then again … free But then again... you'll have to cope with rap music or worse ”wailing” middle eastern music, at full volume of course. Not everyone cup of tea Bottom line: for the price and breakfast otherwise...

I stayed at the hotel between 17.5 and 21.5. The hotel is outdated, the dining room is reasonable and the pool is standard. However the customer service is very poor. We booked a room for 2 people, arrived two co-workers, got a room with a double bed. We were told to call room service and they would come and split the beds. We called, the guy who arrived said that the beds can not be changed because the base does not allow it in the room and if you want you can arrange the sofa bed as a bed - in the same breath he recommended calling the reception to change our room. I went to the reception, I mentioned the situation, the clerk could not help and referred me to the hotel manager - she just shouted at me that I should not come to her or contact her, I told her that the receptionist referred me to her so I came - it did not really interest her. Realizing that another room I was not really going to get, I asked the room service to arrange the sofa for the bed. Room service arrived again and brought us a blanket sheet and pillow. I called customer service, said I did not pay less than any guest at the hotel, why should one of us sleep on a couch ?? The employee told me she had nothing to do, I asked a principal to get back to me. To this day (after the holiday) I am waiting for the same call. We slept with two adults when one was in bed and one on a couch (that could not be opened!) For an entire vacation. Another point, you can also get- Room with a view of the garbage cans and a wake-up call at 7 a.m. with a truck coming to evacuate them.
Crowne Plaza Dead Sea

The environment and location of the hotel are very good, but the service is really bad! We arrived at the hotel around 1 pm, more than three o'clock to stay, queued for nearly two hours. The front desk service was poor. The Dead Sea floated at 5:30, and it was closed. It was equivalent to staying in the night, and it would also send flyers to the room. Let us check out at 11 o'clock. It was really uncomfortable. There are other hotels nearby, it is estimated that it is so cattle because of its location.

Maybe I should have been more suspicious of a lot of 5 star reviews with almost similar wording by reviewers with only one review, but I honestly thought we are coming to a high end hotel. In reality we received a room with a noisy aircon and had to fight with them to find us another ( smaller) room. But nothing was as expected: The excellent towels had stains Towels are taken and it's a lottery what is replaced ( they bring replacements immediately when you ask) The shower door doesn't close properly and there is no matt when you get out of the shower ( a pitty about the lovely towels who are used as alternative matt) The food is basic with only two very slow coffee machines and no veriaty, for supper it was even worse The spa is great but around noon there were no more towels to find And one day our keys just stopped working ( they were changed) with no explanation why. An important thing to know about this hotel is the layout. It is a collection of one store buildings with suits on the upper floor ( these cost duble the high price we paid) and all standard rooms on the ground floor. There are no windows in the standard rooms, only large doors opening directly outside so if you leave these open, all passerbys can see you. You can easily hear people on the outside even with everything closed To summarize, The staff was nice, but this is not a romantic or pampering hotel, some of the problems can be fixed with better maintenance and better cooks but nothing can fix the layout.
