I booked this place based on good reviews, but I was extremely disappointed. The toilet hygiene needs serious improvement. The bidet on the smart toilet was incredibly dirty. After I peed and used the bidet, as soon as I pressed the button, I immediately smelled feces. At first, I thought it was the drain, but my gut told me otherwise. I shifted my body forward, turned around, and looked at the bidet behind and below me. It was truly disgusting – a bunch of fecal stains stuck all over the bidet nozzle. I was shocked and immediately used the shower and soap to clean myself. Then I told my boyfriend. He didn't quite believe me at first. He tried to trigger the toilet sensor with his hand, pressed the bidet, and then stopped it. We both felt nauseous looking at that bidet. My boyfriend then went to the front desk to see if we could change rooms or have someone clean it. But the front desk staff said all rooms were full and the cleaner wasn't available; they could only clean it tomorrow. The staff didn't show any apology, just a look of helplessness. Finally, they asked if it would be convenient for them to enter our room tomorrow morning to clean the toilet. We agreed for them to clean it at 9 AM the next morning. The following day, we were out all day. When we returned in the evening, new towels had been placed, but when we checked the bidet, it still hadn't been cleaned, and the strange smell was still there. We were too tired to complain again because we had to get up at 4 AM for our flight. Luckily, I only chose to stay for two nights. Also, the water heater was very unstable. When showering, after about 1-2 minutes, the water would turn cold for a second, then immediately go back to hot, repeating like that. It was barely acceptable. Other aspects were fine. They provide free toiletries and coffee, and there are free umbrellas for rent in the lobby.

Booked this place based on an ad, and I seriously regret it! It's quite a walk from both the JR and subway stations, so getting around is inconvenient. Front desk staff seemed to treat us differently. White guests and locals were able to check in directly at the counter, but they insisted we use the self-service machine. We tried several times, but couldn't find our reservation information. The staff offered no help whatsoever, just watched us struggle with all our luggage without offering any porter service. It was incredibly, incredibly disappointing. This is the first time I've ever felt so angry in Japan. Also, the hotel facilities are pretty old, and the breakfast, which costs 150 per person, was truly awful! During our four-day stay, housekeeping missed cleaning our room for two days. We only realized it when we returned in the afternoon and had to call them to come. All in all, a very frustrating experience!

This hotel is super convenient! It's right across from JR Hakodate Station, just a 3-minute walk and two crosswalks away. Plus, the tram station is only 200 meters to the left of the hotel entrance. From there, it's a quick 10-minute ride to Jujigai Station, and then a 200-meter walk up a slope to the Hakodateyama Ropeway – perfect for catching the night view, which is a must-see in Hakodate. There's even a bus stop across from the hotel with buses to Goryokaku. The rooms are spacious, and the breakfast spread is fantastic. For the price, this hotel offers incredible value for money!

This is definitely not your average overnight hotel. Everything, from the upscale and elegant environment, to the complete and brand-new facilities, the spacious and bright room types, and the thoughtful and enthusiastic service, was incredibly impressive. The floor-to-ceiling windows offer a view of New Chitose Airport. Spending the first night of our Hokkaido trip at this hotel was an absolutely wonderful experience!

I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel. It looked like it wasn't far from the JR station, but we arrived on a day with a heavy blizzard – something I, as someone from the south, had never experienced before. Just those few traffic lights left us utterly exhausted by the time we reached the hotel. Before checking out, we specifically called taxis. The minimum fare was 700 yen, and since we had a lot of luggage, we needed two cars. This was the only taxi company in Hakodate, Donan Taxi, that didn't charge a service fee for calling a cab, and the front desk was very helpful in arranging it for us. Upon check-in, you definitely need to read the instructions. Used towels and bath towels can be exchanged at the front desk, but there's an additional charge of 200 yen for each extra towel. The hotel's only ice machine is in the convenience store on the first floor. The hotel breakfast was fantastic! The seafood changed daily – sweet shrimp on the first day, salmon on the second, plus fresh shrimp tempura every day. The miso soup was delicious too. The room even had a washing machine, which is incredibly convenient for families on long trips. We stayed on the 13th floor, and the ocean view was incredibly soothing. There's a beach not far from the hotel, and even in such cold weather, people were out surfing. The hotel's large public bath is also great; the women's bath is on the basement floor, and the men's is on the first floor. They use POLA toiletries. For this price, and with such a spacious room, you really can't go wrong!

The room was a bit small, but the facilities and services were excellent, especially the front desk staff who were incredibly friendly and helpful. The hotel is super easy to find; just go straight from Exit 11 of the subway station. There's a Lawson convenience store downstairs, and it's close to many attractions in Sapporo. The hotel's breakfast is a buffet and it's quite delicious, especially the generous portions of salmon – I really enjoyed it. I would definitely choose this hotel again next time I'm in Sapporo.

This hotel's location is excellent. We visited in late December, and it had already snowed, so the ground was icy. It was incredibly convenient that the hotel connects directly to an underground mall, saving us from walking outside. Plus, there are plenty of restaurants right below the hotel, offering many dining options. Getting around by subway to different areas was also very easy for sightseeing. The hotel's design is quite distinctive, especially the common areas. However, I felt the breakfast, priced at over 100 RMB per person, wasn't really worth it, as there are more choices available outside.

Perfect location for one night stay, just a little bit confuse when check it, i went to the 2nd floor (beside domestic departure) and found entrance for a lift to 3rd floor lobby. Breakfast is provided and if extra time, u can visit the onsen on 4th floor which are quite far away from the hotel. Pls take note that the domestic terminal will close after 11:30pm and u cannot walk around in the terminal.

This hotel offers great value for money. Both the breakfast buffet and the room comfort exceeded my expectations. If you're planning to visit Mount Hakodate and the Kanemori Red Brick Warehouses, especially in snowy weather, this is definitely the top choice because of its close proximity. Having lived in Tokyo for a long time, I've become somewhat jaded by bustling city centers and their dining scenes, which is why I didn't choose to stay near Hakodate Station. I preferred to spend more time quietly appreciating the tranquility of the rain, snow, and mountain pine forests. Many people mention long queues for the ropeway and tickets at Mount Hakodate, and that the Genova restaurant up there requires booking two weeks in advance and even then a window seat isn't guaranteed. However, I didn't encounter any of these issues because I traveled during off-peak times. I experienced zero wait times for everything, no advance booking or reservations needed. Therefore, staying at this hotel was incredibly convenient for me, and I was able to enjoy the beautiful daytime views of Mount Hakodate, which I found much more refreshing than the 'million dollar night view' that's become cliché on social media platforms like Xiaohongshu.

We had a great stay at Smile Hotel Sapporo. The location is excellent. It is close to entertainment areas, with easy access to the bus stop and subway station. The airport bus stop is also very close, just about a 3-minute walk from the hotel. The staff were nice and helpful, and the free amenities for guests were a nice bonus. The only thing I’d suggest is having a free water refill available. Overall, I love Japan, and you really can’t go wrong staying here.

CChoy SumBecause I had to return the car at Hakodate Airport the next day, I chose to stay in Yunokawa, which only takes about 10 minutes by car. The hotel has free parking and also provides a buffet breakfast, which is really chill to eat breakfast against the unparalleled sea view. Friendly staff, willing to help, excellent service. Definitely bring my family again.

GGuest UserThe room was decent, no bathtub but the hotel has a public bath, which is standard for a business hotel. It's near Nakajima-Koen subway station, just across the street. A heads-up for everyone, it's in Nakajima Park, so if you're not near Susukino or Odori, it's a bit of a walk. It's not out of the way, but you do have to walk. Sapporo's subway isn't as frequent as Tokyo's, so sometimes walking might get you there just as fast. It's quite a hassle to drag luggage and parents through the snow when you can't use the underground walkway.

BB_BI chose this hotel for my family because the room was spacious, which was very important to us as we wanted our child to have enough space to move around comfortably. The hotel is new and very clean, exactly as we expected. The complimentary drinks for all guests were a lovely touch. There was a good variety of both alcoholic and non-alcoholic options, along with popcorn, which made us feel very welcomed. What impressed me the most, however, was how considerate and helpful the staff were. We checked out very early at 6:00 am during a snowstorm. In the middle of our journey, I realized that I had left one of my bags behind—the one containing my passport and valuable items. I immediately called the hotel and asked if it would be possible to send the bag to the airport, as returning to the hotel ourselves would definitely cause us to miss our flight. The receptionist (I’m very sorry that I can’t remember her name) took my situation very seriously and contacted her manager to request authorization to delegate a staff member to bring my passport to the airport, since they could not leave an unattended bag in a taxi. I had offered to cover all expenses, but what truly stood out was their willingness to help without hesitation. Ms. Wu was the staff member who personally brought my passport to the airport. With her honesty, urgency, and care, I honestly don’t know how I would have made it back to my hometown. I cannot thank her and the hotel team enough for what they did for us. I truly believe I made the right choice staying here, and I will definitely stay at this hotel again on my next visit.

Rrosie_qiqiRoom is spacious with a private garden & outdoors onsen. Welcome puddings were very yummy and yet the buffet in there was very insipid. Frankly speaking, the only two good foods there are sashimi and rice, what a shame. Others: Very close to the lake, 1-2 minutes walk; a large and cozy lobby with good jazz music from an antique JBL sound system; live music performance every night; lots of books; fireplace and roasted marshmallows; lovely shop on the 3rd floor (prized reasonably). All is well except the buffet. Did not try the Japanese one (needs to book and pay a lot) hence a bit regretted.

AAnonymous UserThe room isn't huge, but there's just enough space by the bathroom door for two suitcases. To fully open them and pack, you'll need to use the bed, which is typical for Japanese hotels, so it's acceptable. It's a bit of a walk to Susukino subway station, a few blocks away, and it's even harder in the snow. I had to go to the Susukino airport bus stop, which is only a few hundred meters away, but with snow and luggage, it would have taken about 40 minutes to walk. I ended up taking a taxi from the hotel entrance, costing less than 100 RMB, and got there in just a few minutes, which was very convenient. Overall, the price was reasonable, around 400+ RMB per night.

AAI-KimiThis is *the* must-stay hotel in Shiretoko, hands down. I discovered it through a COCOGO Travel video on Bilibili, and its serene, tranquil, and natural vibe instantly captivated me, making me determined to visit. Shiretoko in summer is all about forests, hot springs, lakes, wild brown bears, and Ainu culture. Here, everything lives in elegant harmony with nature, allowing you to experience its magnificent landscapes firsthand. The hotel's decor beautifully reflects the local culture. They offer complimentary ice cream and an open bar with free-flowing drinks. Both breakfast and dinner feature carefully selected local ingredients; while portions aren't huge, they are incredibly refined and exquisite. From the hotel's onsen and authentic Finnish Löyly sauna, you can gaze out over the Shiretoko mountains and the Sea of Okhotsk. The breathtaking views are sure to lift your spirits and leave you feeling refreshed.

GGuest User🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 An Unforgettable Stay! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 This place is truly a hidden gem! From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with the warmest smiles and the most genuine hospitality. Every staff member made us feel like family—so friendly, attentive, and always ready to help with anything we needed. The stay itself was beyond amazing. The room was spotless, cozy, and incredibly comfortable—but the highlight was definitely the private onsen in the room. Soaking in the hot spring after a long day was pure bliss. Calm, relaxing, and absolutely luxurious. And the food… WOW. Every meal felt like a masterpiece. Beautifully presented, fresh, flavorful, and full of local character. Each dish was a delight, and we looked forward to every single meal. Perfect service, perfect stay, perfect food, perfect onsen. I would come back in a heartbeat—and recommend this place to anyone looking for a truly special experience. 💖
