I didn't expect the Mitsui Garden Hotel Kanazawa to be so good! First off, the location is excellent; it's convenient for getting anywhere. The room itself felt stylish and comfortable, and the service was great. But the real highlight was the hotel breakfast – it's the best hotel breakfast I've ever had, absolutely delicious! If I ever have the chance to visit Kanazawa again, I'll definitely stay at the Mitsui Garden Hotel.

This hotel is excellent! It's super close to JR Kanazawa Station, making it easy to walk to Omicho Market, the castle town area, and the Samurai District. Plus, public transport is conveniently nearby. The hotel staff were wonderful, and they even offered free drip coffee and access to a large public bath. If I visit Kanazawa again, I'd definitely choose this hotel.

One of my favorite hotels during this trip! **Ambiance:** Even though it's an older hotel built in the last century, both the hard furnishings and soft decor are incredibly well-maintained. While the style might be a bit retro, it's tastefully done. The room was over 30 square meters, which is quite spacious for Japan. **Cleanliness:** Virtually spotless. **Facilities:** Didn't have time to visit the lounge or bar to enjoy the city views. I wish there was a gym, or at least I didn't see one available. **Breakfast:** Excellent! They offer both Japanese and buffet options. The buffet included sashimi and seafood rice bowls, freshly made omelets, and French toast. If you stay here, you absolutely *must* experience the breakfast. I had three full plates! **Service:** Outstanding. After check-in, we were rushing to go eat, and they took care of putting our luggage in the room for us. When getting a taxi, a doorman opened the door and assisted us. My time in Kanazawa was a bit short this trip, so I definitely need to stay at this Nikko hotel again.

This place is just a 5-6 minute walk to Kanazawa jr station and the bus terminal. The location is fantastic. There is all the amenities you need like coin laundry, and ice machine. The staff are wonderful and helped me to correctly fill out the forms to mail a package to my teacher staying in japan. This is my second stay with the hotel franchise in kanazawa- i stayed in their other hotel more in the town centre previously. They both smelled amazing. I don’t know what they use, but they have a specific scent that they make for their hotels. Apparently Kanazawa also has a tradition of incense and so they’ve incorporated a signature scent based on it. I wish I could buy it tbh- so Koko staff- if you see this, please make it an item you sell! The rooms are a good size, for Japan, and the bathtub in the room is MASSIVE. Sadly I dont have photos as I forgot to take them. They have a lovely outdoor on the top floor as well, where you can sip a drink and enjoy the view which i do have photos of.

This hotel located exactly beside JR Kanazawa Sta. So if you want to go to Shirakawago by bus ( of course u have to reserved before ) it is easy to reach the bus station behind Kanazawa Sta. I choose this hotel also because I used Hokuriku pass which is passed by Kanazawa Sta. The room is like other 3 star hotel in Japan, not too big but enough if you bring top loading luggage.

The hotel's overall design is stunning, and the traditional Japanese ambiance envelops you from the moment you step through the door. The use of gold, red, and black makes the entire hotel feel elegant, dignified, and luxurious. The products in the on-site gift shop are also very unique and beautiful, making you want to buy them, and they aren't even particularly expensive.

The room was a bit small, but everything I needed was compact. The locker in the changing room in the large communal bath was small and it was difficult to change clothes when it was crowded. The hot water was a good bath with a thickness

Great location, very close to the station and surprisingly quiet. However, there was a strong BBQ smell in the hotel hallway, likely from the yakiniku restaurant downstairs. It actually smelled quite good! We even ended up eating there. My clothes definitely smelled of grilled meat afterward. I didn't take any photos of the hotel itself, but it had a rather artistic vibe to it.

Comfortable stay at a well located hotel in Kanazawa. The rooms were clean and functional, and the overall stay was smooth. The onsen was a nice touch and perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring the city. There is also a laundry room available, which was very convenient during the trip. A good option if you are looking for a simple and comfortable base in Kanazawa.

YYuduotianPatThis was my first time visiting Kanazawa and staying at this onsen ryokan, and it offered excellent value for money. The breakfast was absolutely delicious, with very fresh sashimi, fruits, and milk. The room was comfortable and cozy, and the onsen was fantastic, very relaxing. They even offered complimentary late-night ramen after 9:30 PM, which was also tasty. I would definitely choose to stay at this onsen ryokan again on my next visit to Kanazawa.

AAnonymous UserI stayed for one nights. The front desk staff and the restaurant staff were all very friendly and made for a very comfortable stay. They also gave me detailed information about recommended restaurants in the area. The large public bath was also very spacious, and from the open-air bath I could see the mountain stream through the trees. The sound of the water and the clear air were truly soothing. I expect the cold weather will continue in Yamanaka Onsen for the foreseeable future, so please take care of yourselves, and I hope all the staff members take good care of themselves.

GGuest UserThe room facilities are complete. It's not very big, but it's enough for a comfortable stay. The hotel's location is excellent; it's within walking distance of major attractions like Oyama Shrine, Kanazawa Castle Park, Kenrokuen Garden, Ishiura Shrine, and the 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art, which is very convenient.

MMiaowuThis hotel is super convenient, right next to JR Kanazawa Station. The rooms are large, neat, and clean, and even come with a small kitchen. The service is excellent, and they offer free coffee, Ichiban Shibori beer, and other drinks in the lobby every day – I especially loved the apple sparkling water! It's an outstanding hotel that I highly recommend.

AAnonymous UserThis hotel is clearly showing its age and may not meet expectations for those looking for a more modern or well-maintained stay. While it carries the IHG branding, the overall experience feels dated. One of the main challenges was communication. The front desk staff had very limited English proficiency, making it difficult to get clear directions—especially regarding parking. Guests are required to go to the front desk to ask about parking arrangements, which is not very convenient. The signage outside is also misleading, and it’s easy to mistakenly park at a nearby open-air lot that charges ¥100 per 15 minutes or ¥1000 for 12 hours. The hotel’s designated parking is actually located in a shopping mall, which is not immediately obvious. The rooms themselves are quite old, with worn facilities. The bathroom had a noticeable musty smell, suggesting poor ventilation or maintenance. Amenities were basic—Dove toiletries were provided instead of the more commonly seen Pola brand in Japanese hotels. The air conditioning was also ineffective, which made the stay less comfortable. That said, the hotel does have one strong advantage: location. It is directly opposite Ōmichō Market, making it very convenient for exploring the market and enjoying a great local breakfast. Overall, this hotel may be suitable for travelers who prioritize location over comfort, but those expecting a smoother and more modern stay might want to consider other options.
