We were two people staying 3 nights.
We had breakfast and we were very happy with it (6:30-10:00, L.O 9:30). It didn’t change much during the stay, but it had a lot of options and it tasted good.
The room was small. If you have suitcase it will be hard to open it up. We didn’t have suitcases, so for us it was no problem. The bed and pillows were comfortable.
They have a manga library and coffe machine (15:00-22:00), and space with tables and chairs where you can e.g eat.
They have laundry as well (10:00-22:00). It was cheep (washing 400 yen 30 min, dryer 100 yen 10 min). It was a standing washing machine (which I don’t really like) and we had a lot of laundry, so we went to another coin laundry 1 min walk from the hotel, which was good (washing 15 kg 30 min 800 yen, drying 10 min 100 yen).
We didn’t use room cleaning, but every day we got a bag of towels on our door knob.
It is around 10-15 min walk to the station. But it’s close to shopping streets and Iwaki park. It has a lot of restaurants close by. If you like all-you-can-drink there’s a lot of options close by as well.
After check out we left our baggage for a couple of hours. It was no problem.
The people at the hotel were very nice and polite.
Overall we had a very nice stay at this hotel.
This was my first trip to Japan's Tohoku region. The Richmond Hotel Morioka is visible right after exiting the JR station. When traveling in Japan, I generally choose hotels near JR stations for their unparalleled convenience in dining, accommodation, transportation, and shopping. I'm especially pleased with the Richmond Morioka. The rooms are slightly larger than hotels in other cities, and the floor-to-ceiling windows make them feel bright and airy. The cleanliness and facilities were satisfactory, and the front desk staff provided excellent service. The check-in/check-out times were better than in other areas. The bedding was very comfortable, and the hotel's soundproofing was excellent, ensuring a peaceful night's sleep. If I visit the Tohoku region again, I'll definitely use Morioka as my base, and the Richmond will undoubtedly be my top choice.
This hotel is incredibly convenient, being so close to the station. It's a standard business hotel, but the brand chain is reliable, and the location is excellent. The bed was also very comfortable, just the right firmness.
As usual. We enjoyed our stay. Hotel is conveniently near the train station with shopping and lots of restaurants. Will stay with them again when we are in Morioka.
The check-in staff introduced the hotel attentively and cleaned the room attentively. The ski rental staff are very patient.
But the quality of the food in the restaurant is average, and all the shrimps in the seafood are rotten. And some of the waiters are not polite to the guests.

The hotel's location is excellent, just a 3-minute walk to Kaiun Bridge. Parking is mechanical and costs 1100 JPY per day. The in-room toiletries are from DHC, which is a nice touch! What truly stands out, however, is the hotel's breakfast on the top floor. The view is absolutely stunning, with clear sights of Mount Iwate. The restaurant staff are incredibly energetic and friendly – they truly deserve praise! The cleaning staff were also very polite.
I stayed in a moderate single room. It was beautifully renovated and very cute. It was directly connected to the station, so it was very convenient to be able to buy various souvenirs in the station building.
We had a pleasant stay in general. However, room ceaning service needs to be improved. Our group of people have a few bad experiences.
1) after returning to room after the day, there was a used mask left in the bathroom. There’s also a day without providing onsen towels and we had to bring over the mid size ones
2) the door of my friend’s room remained open after the cleaning service (a 3M sticker with なすし2 sticked on wall). Glad there’s no missing items
3) another room, there was blood and urine stint left on the toilet cover!
I hope the hotel can take it seriously as it indeed ruins the brand of IHG and bad customer experience.
The hotel is conveniently located about a 15-minute walk from Morioka Station, but it can be a bit tiring to walk if you have a lot of luggage or luggage, or if it rains.
There are many 24-hour convenience stores, restaurants, and coffee shops nearby, making it very convenient.
As a major brand hotel, the facilities are a bit dated, but they are well-maintained, ensuring a comfortable stay.
For business travelers, the hotel offers great value for money when discounts are available, resulting in a high level of satisfaction.
On the downside, there are many bars and entertainment venues nearby, resulting in significant noise at night from drunken patrons.
This can make for a difficult night's sleep for business travelers who prefer a quiet environment.
The shower and toilet facilities are a bit dated, but the shower water pressure is good and well-maintained.

GGuest UserThe location is beautiful and the views from the car park assured us we had chosen well. Check in was helpful and all facilities were fully explained at this time, allowing us to book our dining time.
The room was comfortable and traditional; the view, amazing! With an afternoon of sunshine, time was taken to enjoy the view in a temperature controlled setting. There was a beautiful tea set and tea provided along with some complementary snacks and water. The toiletries provided were lovely and I shall certainly be looking to purchase these for my home.
Dinner was a Chinese style buffet, with an excellent selection of dishes. Barbecues for the table and delicious sashimi and hand prepared sushi. Soups, stews, salad and more! To follow was an assortment of cakes and ice creams. Staff were very helpful and polite and the food was filling and delicious. We then retired to the hotel bar where we were again greeted by a lovely member of staff.
Upon return to our room, futons had been prepared and the room made ready for sleep. These were surprisingly comfortable.
Breakfast was also delicious with a huge array of dishes to choose from. Check out was simple and staff were helpful and polite.
I will definitely be returning!

GGuest UserThis Toyoko Inn is a bit far from JR Morioka Station, requiring a walk through an underpass, so it's not the most convenient. Unlike other Toyoko Inns, there are no welcome drinks or ramen offered in the evenings. Breakfast is also very standard, and the rooms are quite small. Overall, it's an average experience.
GGuest UserI was looking for a hotel for my trip to Morioka when I found out this hotel was opening that day, so I booked it right away.
The lobby, guest rooms, and lounge were all beautiful, stylish, and wonderful.
The large public bath had a sauna, which was very relaxing.
The breakfast, which I had been looking forward to, was even more delicious than I expected, and I ate a lot. I definitely want to stay here again the next time I travel to Morioka.
LLanie KirklandA group of four of us booked a cabin on a whim, and I’m so happy we did!! We did a two-day ski trip to Geto Kogen, and I cannot stress enough how convenient these cabins were to the resort itself. We stayed overnight in between two days at the resort. The drive up to the resort was less than 20 minutes. The cabin itself was super cozy, so comfortable, had great amenities for the short time we were there, and the staff were so kind and helpful. Everything was very clean, the heater was already on when we arrived, which was a very thoughtful touch, and we were able to hang all our snow gear to dry thanks to the copious amounts of hangars available. We felt it was a crazy good deal based on the price, location, and availability to book it just a few days in advance. We will definitely be back in the summer to use the grill and go golfing at the country club!
DDevIdeal place to rest after hiking to Kurasakiso. The Japanese style room is clean, neat and faces the ocean. Light house and ocean can be seen from the room window. The light house, 40deg North symbolic monument, the Kurosaki bay view point are all at a walking distance. The in house restaurant provides dinner and breakfast. I do not eat meat or other seafood except fish, therefore it was a bit difficult for them to manage my needs. But the breakfast compensated for my dinner challenges. I liked the breakfast as there were plenty of varieties of items to choose from. The onsen also faces the ocean and is quite good. After a demanding hiking, onsen dinner and cold beer made my night enjoyable and relaxing. This is a very good place to stay, I highly recommend it.

AAnonymous UserThe hotel is just a short walk across the JR station. To reach the hotel, you need to use the underpass. You can use the B1 lift to enter or exit the underpass so it’s very convenient for those with luggages. The room is small but functional. The only complaint is that the kettle provided cannot be dismantled from the plug. In order to fill water you need to carry the kettle together with the plug. Otherwise, everything is just perfect.
