Hotel was easily accessible (5 minutes walk) from the nearest tram stop next to Sakuramachi mall.
Staff hospitality was exceptional. Check in and out process was very smooth too. Some of the staff could also converse well in English.
Hotel has coin laundromats which was really helpful for our four nights stay.
The hotel breakfast was really good too with wide spread of Japanese and western options.
Also wonderful that the hotel lounge is open daily after 2pm with free drinks and hot tea/coffee provided.
This was my favorite hotel during my Kyushu trip. It's directly connected to Kumamoto Station and Amu Plaza, making it incredibly convenient for getting around, dining, and shopping. The rooms are spacious, and there's even a triangular chapel in the hotel's inner courtyard. During Christmas, there was a Christmas market in the plaza outside on the first floor, creating a very romantic atmosphere. Breakfast was also excellent. Unfortunately, I visited during a three-day holiday in Japan, so the room rates increased significantly, and I could only stay one night. I'll definitely be back next time!
This hotel in Kumamoto offers great value for money, much more affordable than Fukuoka. It's a new hotel located right in Kumamoto city center, making it an excellent choice. We took the Fukuoka Airport bus to the Kumamoto Bus Terminal, and it was less than a 10-minute walk from there. The hotel is also very close to the shopping street, which we walked through several times a day – super convenient for dining and shopping.
**Facilities:**
The building is prominent and easy to find. The lobby offers a variety of tea bags, and toiletries are available for self-service. The in-room facilities are relatively new, convenient, and easy to use.
**Hygiene:**
The room was clean and tidy, and the linens were comfortable.
**Environment:**
The location is superb, just a short walk to the shopping street and the city's central area.
**Service:**
The staff were efficient and friendly.
The breakfast was quite unique, offering various local horse meat options. The taste was decent, nothing extraordinary. I was particularly impressed by the local transparent soy sauce and even bought some to take home.
The hotel is very accessible. It is inside the mall. The bus terminal going to airport is just underneath.
So many restaurants and there is a family mart too.
The hotel is new and as expected is not so spacious but the breakfast is good and staff are really accommodating.
Highly recommended this hotel if you are traveling to Kumamoto. Kumamoto castle is just 15mins walked while Shimotori Shopping Center is just 5-10mins away. We are also very lucky to witness their festival since the parade happened around the area.
The Great Festival of Fujisaki Hachimangu Shrine (or Zuibyo Festival), held every September. Its so fun🥰🥰
Stayed one night at Nest Hotel Kumamoto. The room was quite tight, but workable for a short stay. Location was convenient, it was walking distance to plenty of eateries and a nearby mall and supermarket, though we didn’t get to explore much since we moved on the next morning. Parking was the tricky part: it uses one of those mechanical garage systems that only fits smaller cars, and getting in and out wasn’t the easiest. Overall fine for a quick stop with a small luggage.
Staff were nice, a couple of them speaks English well. Our twin room with sofa bed was adequate. Sofa bed has seen better times n can feel the springs, not for someone who is on heavy side. Location of hotel is good. We love the hair dryer, Refa brand, top notch. Parking cost ¥1000 per night. Just behind is the shopping street and ard 15 mins walk is a big shopping mall, Sakura Machi. Kumamoto Castle can be seen opposite the hotel but if walking is still not so near. We decided to check out of hotel and drove to the castle. There are a few parking lots near to the castle but some need to walk longer.
We had a great stay at Kamenoi Hotel Aso Park. We booked a room in the South Building, which was spacious, clean, and had a large, comfortable bed. The hotel provides yukata robes in various colors, which was a lovely touch for guests to enjoy the onsen experience.
♨️ The onsen was large and relaxing — perfect after a day of exploring Aso.
🚗 Parking was very convenient, located right next to the hotel. Just across the parking area, there’s a 24-hour convenience store called Obentou Hirai offering ready-made bentos, hot meals, ramen, and udon — extremely convenient for late-night snacks or quick meals.
🍱 We chose a room-only package without meals, and in the morning, we visited the local souvenir and food center at Aso Station. It had a great selection of local foods and breakfast options, plus plenty of gifts and souvenirs to bring home.
Overall, a comfortable stay with everything we needed nearby. Highly recommended if you’re exploring the Aso area!
This hotel is, without a doubt, the most satisfying I've stayed at during my solo trips to Japan over the past few years! 👍5☆☆☆☆☆
1. The hotel is conveniently located right next to Kumamoto Station, just a 3-4 minute walk to the left after exiting (Photo 3). The rooms are spacious, and the bathrooms are large. They provide complimentary bottled water. It's quiet at night. Photos 5 & 6 show the view from room 714. The front desk staff are patient, professional, and attentive. 👍
2. There are many dining options inside the train station, making meals very convenient.
3. There are bus and tram stops right outside the hotel. You can use IC credit cards (UnionPay, VISA) and Alipay directly on all Kumamoto city buses and trams for payment, which is incredibly convenient! We walked to Kumamoto Castle, stopping at Kitaoka Shrine ⛩ along the way. We took Tram Line A back. It's very close to Kumamoto Castle and the city center.
4. The next morning, we headed to Mount Aso. We bought tickets to Aso Station at Kumamoto Station, and there were several train times to choose from. Very convenient!
If you're planning a city walk in Kumamoto and a visit to Mount Aso, I highly recommend this hotel.
Newly opened so all amenities are in good condition. Shower is perfect 👌
Only got 2 pools for hot spring; can’t compare with the one in Kyoto. Overall excellent experience 😄😙
Great stay at this clean, conveniently located hotel. It’s right inside a covered shopping arcade that connects to many food options, and also just across the street from the tram stop and a large mall housing the bus terminal. Room was comfortable and of a good size. Free drinks are available at a quiet lounge area for guests, and there’s also a nice public bath to relax at too. Would recommend.

GGuest UserMy recent stay at Hotel Kadoman left me thoroughly impressed. The generously sized rooms provided ample space to unwind and relax, adding an extra level of comfort to my stay. What truly stood out, however, were the culinary offerings. Both dinner and breakfast were a culinary delight, with each dish crafted to perfection and bursting with flavor. The service was equally commendable, with the staff going above and beyond to ensure a pleasant and memorable experience. If you're looking for a hotel that offers spacious accommodations, delicious dining options, and excellent service, look no further than Hotel Kadoman.
AAnonymous UserWe booked two rooms for our family of four as each room is rather small. We stayed three nights and enjoyed ourselves. Car park is round the corner so its convenient. Hotel gave us a voucher for discounted parking. The hotel is very central and convenient with a MacDonalds right downstairs.
11381646****Great location! It's just a 5-stop tram ride from Kumamoto Station. The front desk is on the 12th floor, and they even have a public bath. It's really convenient for getting around, being near the Sakuramachi Bus Terminal, and also right in the middle of a shopping district with plenty of dining and entertainment options.
AAlbina LiubitskaiaAn absolutely wonderful experience. The staff at the ryokan were incredibly polite and always ready to help with anything we needed. Upon check-in, we were provided with traditional attire, pajamas, tabi slippers, bath amenities, and a small welcome treat with matcha and coffee. We also asked at the front desk if they could give us a ride to the bus stop after check-out, and they kindly said yes, of course.
Our room was spacious, clean, and beautifully decorated. At first, we were planning to explore several other local onsens, but after experiencing the ones at the ryokan, we felt completely satisfied.
There are separate baths for hotel guests (men’s and women’s), baths open to both guests and visitors (also divided by gender), as well as a private onsen. One of the onsens also has a sauna. The traditional dinner and breakfast were both impressive—delicious and very generous in portion. The surrounding grounds are stunning, perfect for peaceful walks. This ryokan is a bit further from the main cluster of inns, but that was exactly what we wanted—to enjoy quiet walking. At night, our futons were laid out for us, adding to the authentic experience.
The only reason I deducted one star is the very bright green light on the ceiling that stays on all night and can’t be turned off or covered. I didn’t have a sleep mask with me, and the ryokan didn’t provide one, so I had a sleepless night. It was quite unpleasant. That said, I still highly recommend this ryokan—it’s an unforgettable place to stay.

LLei,taoOverall, a fantastic stay! I really appreciated the complimentary drinks and the spacious bathtub in the room. The service was excellent, and I'll definitely be returning for another visit. My only minor critique is that the location isn't the most convenient, but despite that, I found the overall experience to be very satisfactory.
TTraveller CI stayed at this hotel twice. The second time (this booking) we had a room on the older (?) wing and it was almost twice the size of the first one. So for this review I will only share feedback on this “older” room.
This room was big and thus good for us as we had 2 large luggage and more space in the room allowed us to open and pack our luggages with ease.
The bathroom was large with the large traditional bathtub. Toilet had bidet and etc but lacked heating which made it very cold in the winter. Basin tap was still the old turn types which was not eco friendly as it’s more difficult to shut it off.
Location was just opposite the train station which was excellent. But the nearest convenience store is also only at the train station which is about a 5-7mins walk away.
Breakfast was curated to suit the Japanese palette more and ends at 9a.m which is really way too early!!
We left something behind in the hotel but they managed to send the item back to us at our new hotel (still in Japan) which was highly appreciated.
Despite a few minor shortcomings listed above, the pros still outweigh the cons and I’ll definitely be happy to stay here again.
