Laguna Beach

Mixed feelings about this hotel. First night was a disaster. AC didn’t work, fan was very loud, Wi-Fi didn’t work. Second night they fixed the AC and the WiFi (only after I complained), which made the stay so much better. Rooms look like a cave and even during the day, you have to turn the lights on. Asked for room service and they forgot to open the bottle, so I had to break it open. Food from the restaurant is average. A window in the bathroom was not closing, which meant insects got in (saw a beetle on the first night and a cockroach on the second). That being said, installations are good, for *****dava standards, the restaurant has a variable menu, there’s a souvenir shop inside the hotel and the location is fantastic, right across the beach.
Princesse du Lagon

This restaurant is in the ”Princesse du Lagon” hotel on Mangily beach 22km north of Toliara on the RN9. The exterior appearance is welcoming and the restaurant terrace overlooks the beach with tables spaced apart in a fairly pleasant setting. The welcome is correct and the dishes offered are written on a board with a good variety between fish, shellfish, meat and regional dishes. I note that in Toliara and its surroundings, the price of dishes is always in the same order of value (22,000 Ar each dish). So it’s the quality that makes the difference. We ordered a fisherman's pot which, in fact, turns out to be grilled squid with a few pieces of fish (the notion of a pot is very vague here) and a grilled fish with fries and sautéed potatoes. The pseudo pot was of average quality, as for my fish, it was tasteless, the fries were soft and greasy, sweating dark-colored oil, and the fried apples were the same style and, what's more, lukewarm. There were a total of 4 customers in the restaurant, which should not be the cause of excessive stress for the ”cook”!! The guava and passion fruit juices had forgotten their taste at 6,000 Ar each. (1 euro = 4600 Ar)
Laguna Blu - Resort Madagascar

The cosy bungalows scattered in the area, facing the sea, are in a calm area where you won’t be disturbed by the sound of the sea tides. You have running water and thanks to solar panels, you have the light and hot water. This countryside is sunny all the year and the hurricanes don’t go there. You can quietly read or stay in your room, outside at the shade lying on a Transat, by the veranda facing the sea, but also in the very well decorated - with a few local (also recycled) materials - main area which part is also the restaurant. The meals, mostly from local products and fresh seafood, are tasty thanks to the talented Italian hotel chief. After the good meals, you can do your exercises on your own by walking, running along the seaside or swimming and enjoying the fresh air. The owners, the hotel staff and maybe other guests are happy to chat with you in the patio. If you wish, you can go to meet the villagers in Andavadoaka. And if you have any gifts, better to let them by the hotel staff who will be happy to distribute them for you, so anybody won’t feel to be forgotten. And you can be reached and reach the loved ones as wireless works well. Some hotels in the nearby countryside don’t have this possibility. Interesting for any update or for a - hopefully short - distance working. You choose your own rhythm so you can set your time for the meals. And last but not least, a good hospital - Hopitaly Vezo - with surgery unit is nearby. The 7 hours’ drive in a sandy route, sometimes along the seaside, from Toliary/Tuléar northwards in a 4 WD through scattered small villages and forests with baobab trees is worth it. I will warmly recommend Laguna Blu resort for solo traveler or small groups.

Great hotel! Very remote, but makes it just as special. 10 minutes walk to a beautiful and quiet beach. The staff was super friendly. The bungalows very proper and beautifully furnished. Heat water! Eating was magnificent! Have the best what we have got in Madagascar. Very beautiful pool and pleasant restaurant in the form of a boat. I would surely recommend this hotel!

Recommended! Write more, no him, because there are not many reviews here, I introduce it, do the best of the duty of the travel friends, first say the advantages: 1/Cost-effective, good in all aspects, low price because there is no private beach, relying on the canal, not relying on the beach, but walking five minutes is the beach 😹, 2/24 hour hot water, you can see the speed of the **, the toilet, The mattresses are good. The generators often will be ”shock 😭”, but it will be restored in five minutes. 3/Safety. Near here is the Muron Dawa Hotel area. More than a dozen hotels are on this road. The streets are full of French whites. Safety is not a problem. The local area has been hit several times. There are armed soldiers on the road to check their identities. Because the hotel industry contributes a lot to the local area, it is unpopular to steal tourists, 4/Good location, nearby restaurants and shops are all available, walk to the beach, three rounds of manpower, everything is convenient. Besides the shortcomings: guarding the canal, fishermen go to sea in the middle of the night, a bit noisy! Raiders: 1/In Murondawa, your biggest enemy is mosquitoes and bed bugs, be sure to bring mosquito repellent! 2/Here is the fishing village, which is the legendary free fishing village of lobster. The fishing boat comes back in the morning and takes ten minutes to make a boat to the fishing village. Lobster, East Star Spot, salmon, pure wild, Pippi shrimp do not need money, go to pick up the ground yourself 🤤🤤, 3/Brothers bring some gadgets that girls like in China, small jewelry or something, Taobao is too much, Madagascar is a place where goods are extremely scarce, gadgets are given to the girls here, and there is a high probability of a story.
