Good stay at Jazz Hotel Penang 👍
Really satisfied with my trip here. The room was clean, spacious and comfortable, with a bathtub and even a complimentary bath bomb which made the stay extra relaxing. Love the rooftop pool and the overall modern vibe.
Location is convenient — walking distance to Straits Quay and easy access to Gurney area for food. Staff were friendly and helpful throughout the stay.
Overall a pleasant experience, will definitely come back again!
Everything is good..the room is clean and comfortable, the view is beautiful. The beach is behind the resort. Only the elevator had a big problem. It was too slow, and we waited 20 minutes but still couldn't go down. Full of people. We had to use the stairs to go down to the 15th floor.
Five stars all around! Big shout-out to the friendly front desk staff. I was torn between JEN Hotel and Wembley, but ultimately chose Wembley because I saw reviews mentioning early check-in, which was a huge draw for me. It's also Chinese-friendly, and the front desk staff can communicate in Chinese. Even though rooms were very tight during Chinese New Year, the hotel still allowed me to check in quite a bit earlier. This gave me a precious three-hour nap, helping me avoid the hottest part of the day and making my first day of sightseeing rich and energetic. Wembley and JEN are just across the street from each other, but Wembley is on higher floors, offering a more expansive view. It's only about 700-800 meters to both Mural Street and the Clan Jetties. There are also plenty of shopping and food courts nearby. The hotel itself is well-maintained, and soundproofing is decent. My only minor complaint: For two adults and one child, we requested an extra comforter, but they brought a blanket instead. Using just a blanket requires quite some courage!
Overall, a very pleasant stay at this hotel. The room was comfortable and well maintained. The only minor issues were that the door was a bit difficult to push open and there was a small amount of dust in the corner of the room.
The food was good, although the variety could be improved slightly. The gym and pool facilities were both very good and well kept. Aside from these small details, everything else was perfect. I would happily recommend this hotel.
The hotel is quite large and very close to the airport, a Grab taxi ride cost less than 10 MYR. The room cleanliness and facilities were average. However, the breakfast was good, and the service was excellent and very welcoming. The hotel has a swimming pool, and there are many convenient dining options nearby. Grab transportation also worked very well.
1. The hotel's location is excellent, right in the heart of George Town, just across the street from the famous The George hotel. There's a bus stop diagonally opposite the entrance, conveniently named 'CITITEL HOTEL'. Plus, convenience stores are abundant in every direction.
2. The bus stop offers the free CAT bus, which can take you to many famous spots in George Town.
3. The service was exceptional, from the front desk to the housekeeping staff. On my first day, I asked the front desk for a lighter, and the staff member just gave me one! 👍
4. The breakfast is definitely four-star quality. I've included four days' worth of breakfast photos. The egg pancake with sauce in the third picture was incredibly delicious – they had three different curry sauce flavors.
5. There's a water dispenser on each floor where you can refill water, and the room has a kettle, as shown in picture five.
6. The pool is quite small, and the gym isn't very large either, but they're functional enough.
7. The bathroom facilities are just so-so, and the toilet made some strange noises, but it didn't really affect its use.
8. There are many great eateries within a 500-meter walk of the hotel.
9. The Blue Mansion is just on the street next to the hotel, with tickets going on sale at 9 AM every morning. You can buy your tickets in the morning when you head out (e.g., for the afternoon) and then visit other attractions while it's still cool, avoiding the possibility of tickets selling out in the afternoon.
Stayed here with family for a wedding weekend. We booked the 3-bedroom unit and it was fantastic. The rooms were clean, the beds were comfortable, and the living area was a great spot for us to hang out between events.
Being so close to the action was a huge plus, especially since we stayed out late for the after-party. It felt very secure, and the facilities are top-notch. It’s a stylish, hassle-free spot that’s perfect for hosting families. We’ll definitely be back for our next family gathering in Penang!
The quality of services provided is unsatisfactory. The toothbrush was not replaced after the second day, and creamer was not supplied on the subsequent day. Furthermore, the in-room telephone is inoperable. Dirty window.
Absolutely fantastic! The bellhop who handles luggage storage recognized us from a distance and helped us retrieve our bags. The room was spacious, the bathroom was huge, and the view was incredible, overlooking the entire Old Town. Great value for money. The Old Town is just a short walk away. There's also a school downstairs, so we got to see the kids during their classes every day. And the Blue House is just a few meters away – amazing!
Really liked the hotel environment. The location is super convenient, right below Komtar. We came to watch the New Year's Eve fireworks, and after it was over, we could go straight upstairs to rest, no need to deal with crowds. The staff were also great, and the room was very clean.

RRayTFirst of all the hotel rented out the rooms for individual operator.
So there will be different check in counter.
Upon check in, been told that the room card not functioning as they are doing upgrading, so every time u come back will need to call the house keeping to unlock the door.
Most importantly they charge RM 17 per night for car parking. So a lot of car parking outside which make the entrance a bit difficult

GGuest UserThe hotel's location is great! It's within walking distance to the street art murals, and there are plenty of restaurants nearby, plus a local supermarket. I heard you can get good deals there on spices and bak kut teh essential oils.
The hotel restaurant is on the smaller side and you'll likely have to queue after 8:30 AM. The food was just okay, and the juice wasn't freshly squeezed. However, the service was very attentive, the facilities are quite new, and housekeeping is efficient.
It's about a 20-minute taxi ride to Penang Hill or other attractions, and only 30 minutes to the airport, which is super convenient.
AAnningjinThe hotel's location is superb, making it incredibly convenient for getting around; many attractions are within walking distance. The staff are enthusiastic, friendly, smart, and considerate—for example, they promptly refilled our water whenever it ran low. Check-in times are as flexible as possible to accommodate guests. Furthermore, the hotel's pool area is impressive; it's clean and safe, perfect for kids to play in.
GGuest UserNewish hotel, we have been here before. The first thing you will notice is the lack of furniture and that all your cases will be out on the floor in front of you. There is a ridiculous looking small wash basin that's hard to wash your face in without getting the floor wet or hitting your head on the tap. No slippers, tissues, or hand towels, just one big towel. Only one bedside thing with the phone taking up most of the space, they could fix the phone to the wall. A very small table available had to be used as a bedside table.
Good enclosed shower. Breakfast never changed noticeably but good to see steamed buns available as well as cereal. This meant there was milk for tea/coffee instead of the powdered cream available. I suggested a jug of milk would be nice next to hot drinks but it never happened. I would stay again but not for as long next time.
XXiaotuzijiadexiaopangmiaoFacilities: The hotel has complete facilities, everything you need is there.
Hygiene: The hygiene is good, no obvious oversights.
Environment: Facing the Strait of Malacca.
Service: They helped with our luggage.
As an antique hotel, its value for money is truly excellent. You can stay for just over 1000 [currency unit]. Online, the Heritage Wing is more recommended, but because of its age, we chose the newer Victory Annexe. Before checking in, I saw some online reviews and was a bit worried, but after experiencing it firsthand, I found it to be quite good. First, upon arrival, the staff at the entrance were very attentive. When our car pulled up, they helped with our luggage, and the luggage was even delivered to our room. When checking in, there was a Chinese-speaking person at the front desk, but it seemed most could only speak English. However, simple English was fine, and they also used gestures, making the process very smooth. The room assignment was also quick. After checking in, the hotel balcony faced the sea. This hotel is quite popular, with all kinds of nationalities, but there was no obvious favoritism towards Caucasians or discrimination against Chinese. Perhaps because I'm someone with strong boundaries, every staff member I encountered smiled and nodded in greeting, which even made me feel a bit shy; there was no coldness. The hotel's location is excellent, very close to the Blue Mansion. You can go for a city walk when you step out – still highly recommended!
GGuest UserThis hotel is quite a distance from the city center, even further than the Shangri-La by a few kilometers, located on the beach. There are no convenient facilities nearby, so you'll need to take a taxi to get around. However, a 2km taxi ride will take you to Dadong Seafood Restaurant. All the hotel rooms face west, offering sunset views. The gym is small and lacks equipment. There are two pools, but they are quite shallow. Housekeeping cleans twice a day, but I still noticed some stains on the bed linen. There were also small ants, which is to be expected in a beachfront hotel. During peak breakfast hours, you might have to wait. If you're looking for a quiet escape in Penang, this is the place. At least it's relatively new and offers decent value for money. During the Chinese New Year, they even had fireworks and a weekly 'iron flower' performance. It really made a great impression.

Llqs0420The room was clean and tidy. We were able to wait in the lobby before check-in and enjoyed welcome drinks. We could also head to the beach or the pool.
There are two pools, including a kids' pool with two slides, which the children loved. Free iced lemonade was available in the pool area, which was very convenient. Just a heads-up, there were small lizards around the pool area, so be aware if you're not a fan.
Breakfast was quite substantial. Even though it was crowded, it was well-organized and didn't really affect our meal.
Overall, I'd recommend it for family leisure stays.
AAnonymous UserIt was the last hotel at the end of a two week trip in Malaysia. I chose it seeing it was closer to the airport.
It was perfect! A spacious room in a boutique hotel, and some pampering and rest before a long flight home.
Positives:
- Pool, was cool and busy.
- Complimentary drinks, were appreciated.
- Spacious room and bathroom.
- Loved the ‘Say No to Plastic’ environmental initiatives.
- Cafe space, food was tasty and reasonably priced.
- Staff were friendly and efficient.
- Convenient Store down stairs for snack and drinks.
- I asked for an extra hour for check out.
It’s in a residential area, next to a busy road. So it’s not a place to explore the local area and a GRAB is needed to get around.
However, a perfect STAY for the last day of holidays and it’s closer to the airport.
