I love this place! The beds are very comfy, and the bathroom is very spacious and clean. It’s great that the hotel can arrange parking for you at Wilson Car Park, which is just beside the hotel this makes everything so much more convenient.
The location is within walking distance of most tourist destinations such as Cuba Street, Willis Lane, the Waterfront, Beehive,Wellington cable car,and Te Papa Museum so u dont need much driving around the town just to explore as u can do all of it by just walking from the hotel.
It’s also close to many restaurants and convenience stores.
The staff are amazing and very helpful! I also love the Nespresso machine in the room. I will definitely come back and book here again next time!
Easy to locate and is inside the airport. Handy for those late night arrivals and early morning departures. Have booked to stay again on my return home to Australia

We enjoyed a couple of nights' stay at this centrally located hotel. The self service check-in and check-out process was relatively seamless and staff were responsive when we requested fresh towels and sheets. The room was comfortable and spacious enough for us, although there is no window (other than a small skylight).

I was very satisfied with the hotel's location; I liked that it was a quiet and clean area. It's also very close to the old St. Peter's Church, which is entirely made of wood. There's a New World supermarket nearby, which was very convenient for buying water, fruits, and chocolates. Public transport was also easily accessible from the hotel. Overall, I was pleased with the hotel. The breakfast was decent; it had all the basics and was satisfying and nutritious. The room looked exactly like the pictures I saw when booking, no differences there. The front desk staff were all Indian, and a young lady checked us in, she was quite good, no complaints. The cleanliness was also acceptable; all visible areas were pretty clean. The only downside was the shower water pressure; it was too low, which made showering uncomfortable. Also, the design of the shower base was quite terrible, made of metal material like the old train squat toilets in China, very strange. I would still choose this hotel if I came to Wellington again. Overall, it's very good.

My daughter and I stayed for four nights during our five-day trip to Wellington, and the hotel met all my expectations. First, its central location is incredibly convenient, right across from the Old Bank. There's a bus stop downstairs, making it easy to get to the airport and train station, and most attractions are within walking distance. Second, it was clean, spacious, and quiet. Being on the 21st floor, the air and sunlight were lovely, and we slept very well. Third, the room was equipped with a fridge, microwave, coffee maker, kettle, and basic tableware, allowing us to prepare simple meals. All in all, I highly recommend it.

The room is located in a renovated old street, with a very bold use of color. It's the most 'Cuban-colored' hotel on Cuban Street. Very distinctive. All the toiletries are New Zealand's Antipodes brand, known for being fragrance-free, dye-free, and natural. The breakfast juice is also from the New Zealand national juice brand, Home... It's great overall. I'll definitely come again. It's great for photos. Each floor has a different color scheme. The room might not have been occupied for a while, as the cups and hairdryer were a bit dusty. However, for this price point, it's totally acceptable. No complaints.

This was a short stopover in Wellington to board the early morning ferry to Picton as the hotel location was perfect for the city and ferry.. However we were very pleasantly surprised with the quality of the Movenpick. The rooms were clean and comfortable with all of the amenities you would expect and more. We were delighted with the complimentary chocolate buffet at 4pm most unexpected but delicious. The staff were also very helpful and friendly.

The hotel is very good, there is nothing to be picky, and the late check-out is until 12 noon. The room is large and the small kitchen is ok, but the hotel room is not air-conditioned and has a fan. Because the weather is cold at check-in, it is not bad. In addition, although we live in a high-rise, there may be some bars nearby. From night to late night, it is clear that a lot of loud noises will be heard frequently and continuously, and there are police cars, so it will be better to sleep and close the windows. We were woken up a few times. .

Stayed one night at James Cook Hotel Grand Chancellor for a conference held onsite.
Check-in staff were friendly and efficient. The hotel has three separate lift banks servicing different areas — if you’re unfamiliar with Wellington, definitely ask staff to explain the easiest exit route to the city. It makes a big difference.
Breakfast was a very large buffet with plenty of options, though I’ve experienced better quality elsewhere.
The hotel itself is older but has solid bones. Perfectly adequate for a work overnight stay. For personal travel I’d probably choose somewhere with more atmosphere, however it felt safe and comfortable.
One odd feature: some rooms face an internal terrace/window area — remember to close your curtains as people can see straight in.
Bed was clean and well made, the room was tidy, though the carpet is showing its age. The shower had excellent pressure and plenty of hot water — a highlight.
Overall: reliable, practical conference accommodation rather than a destination stay.

The room is very tidy and big, even there is no parking available but the staff showed me a free space along the road to park overnight.
There is even washing machine which surprised me and it was working well.
The breakfast is good but price is 35 nzd not 19 mentioned in the trip site. I booked the room reading others' comment about the breakfast but to be honest the types of food is not so much and didnt meet my expectations.

Excellent location. Near to shopping district, short walk to harbourside. Breakfast spread is good. Check-in counter staff Dawson deserves a mention. We booked room with breakfast but their system shows room room. He got it sorted out promptly. Gym is a disappointment though. The main gym machine is broken. Can only work with free weights and treadmill

Great view of the Queen's wharf/ waterfront and good amenities (ie sauna room, kitchenette, ironing facility). Only gripe that I have would be that the hangers are affixed to the wardrobe and also the lack of bathroom/bedroom slippers)

I spent a week in Wellingtion to accompany my son who had his new school life here. I booked this hotel because it is close to his school. Through the days of my stay, the hotel manager and house keeping staff treated me in a more than 100% manner and attitude. This is something you could never find in the chain new brand hotel which provides you with cold service. The room equipment is very sophisticated and perfectly good function. Please browse my photos and see the view of this hotel from the room balcony. Although it is not a brand new hotel, the service and the equipment are much more humane and users friendly. You could feel the staff are considering your requirements more than merely receiving an order and solve it. Thank you Heater is well function. Hot bath is awesome. The room is very sound proofed.
Conveniently placed hotel in the city centre within walking distance of many tourist attractions. Comfortable room, friendly staff, reasonable gym and a nice breakfast.
