The hostel had a really nice vibe overall. The common areas were clean and comfortable, great for hanging out or relaxing. The pool area looked nice, the water was very hot. The kitchen was being renovated, though there were fridges available (but no other kitchenware, unfortunately). The staff were kind and accommodating.
The staff is very nice. I told her my room is facing to the train station which makes me hard to fall asleep. The staff was nice enough to change to another room.
However, be mindful that the toilet facilities are old.
Slightly rustic by North American standards, but clean and comfortable. Elevators were very small and very slow based on the capacity of the hotel. A bit isolated from shopping and other amenities. You definitely need a car or arrange your transportation if staying there. Nice beach nearby within walking distance. Good breakfast and facilities like pool, spa and massage. Staff were polite, but when we complained about a noisy heater fan in our room, their solution was to simply turn if off instead of fixing it. Not a bad experience overall. It is a very quiet and relaxing area.
The hotel was clean and the service was nice.
However, I leave two recommendations that could improve the experience considerably: the application of blackout curtains in the rooms, because those currently in place leave a lot of light; and the addition of more channels in TV, Because it has only the normal channels at this moment.

Very poor service. During booking, we were offered a choice between two separate beds or a large single bed. Despite being a couple, we were given a room with three separate single beds. We had specifically requested a large bed (for two people) when making our reservation. Upon arrival, we brought this up again, but were informed that no rooms with that bed type were available. What's worse, this was never communicated to us after booking. Absolutely terrible service. Additionally, the door opening system was incredibly difficult to use; it's a very flawed design.

We weren’t there long, so it’s hard to make a judgment. Staff were nice enough. No issues, no complaints. The hotel, however is like a museum of the 1980s. First generation flat screen TV and old clunky phone by the bed and a glass sink surround. It needs a 2025 upgrade.

Good hotel with great breakfast, a bit far from touristic area, but close to several metro lines.
Room is decent size and quiet, but you can hear your neighbors sometimes.

LLily&lacyIt is not soundproof at all... I am a good sleeper. I have been in Europe for more than a month. The wall of this house is like cardboard. The normal speech next door is clear, just like in the ear... day, but breakfast is delicious. Location is generally cheap after all, Lisbon taxi
AAnonymous UserThe room with bathroom inside the room with balcony.
No curtains on the beds, the light can bother, no privacy.
There is elevator, no problems with luggage.
There is a kitchen, but is closed in the night time.
The staff was very friendly and helpful.
GGuest UserMy husband and I loved it. I was a little apprehensive because I saw a lot of comments about the area where the apartments are located and I didn't see anything wrong with the ”men on the stairs”. They were just drinking and having fun. They didn't even look at us or intimidate us. And we arrived very late because we went out to enjoy ourselves a bit.
The apartment is excellent, super clean, smells impeccable.
WWodetianxianneMy most satisfying stay ever!
The hotel is relatively new, located north of Avenida da Liberdade. There's a metro station right outside, and if you walk down the avenue, you'll reach the old town – easily walkable if you're up for it.
The room was huge, and the 2.2-meter bed was incredibly spacious, which is a rare find in Europe! The staff were super friendly and helpful; whenever I called for water or extra blankets, they were very prompt. One day, we weren't feeling well outside the hotel, and a staff member quickly brought us tissues.
There's also a cool light show at 10 PM.
AAihechadeyangguangmaoThe location of the hotel is excellent and the facilities are very good. But the service is really bad. First, the friend's room can't be done. Find the service staff to wait for a long time! It is very troublesome to check in.
AAnonymous UserThe hotel is not located in the city, but there is a subway station that takes ten minutes' walk to the old city. It is also very convenient because there is no taxi in the city to go to the airport. The breakfast in the hotel is very good, the variety is rich and the quality is good, and the service is particularly good. SANA is a local hotel chain in Portugal, and its quality and service are quite guaranteed. The hotel is located on the flight network where planes land and take off, but the soundproofing in the room is good, which is perfect if you want to watch and take pictures of planes.
GGuest UserTop-notch hotel, excellent services, cleanliness, courtesy, and helpfulness. I always have a wonderful stay when I manage to find availability at Hotel Roma.
SSefy LevyThis hostel is located about 3km walk from the center city, but does have some close by attractions (such as the Jeronimo's Monetary)
The room is extremely small, if you seat on the edge of the bed and try to stretch your legs, you'll most likely hit the wall.
We had our room replaced, as the first room had zero privacy for the toilet and the second room gave the illusion of privacy (as you can see in photos)
We've not seen any of the management, as everything is done thru WhatsApp to contact them and they will respond.
Breakfast was OK, it had a bit of choices but there was more cakes and cookies then actual food.
GGuest UserI spent a 5 nights at My Story Rossio and here are some of my thoughts:
PROS:
- Excellent location. Hard to beat this prime location. It's at the heart of the city with lots of things to do in proximity. There's also a Metro station across from it so you can take the subway directly from the airport.
- Nice decors and overall pretty clean.
CONS:
- The biggest issue I had during my stay was the poor structure of the building leading to disturbing loud noises. During housekeeping hours, the door to the cleaning supplies kept being slammed. Every time it was slammed, my whole room shook and I jumped up. I called the front desk asking if they could be more gentle with the doors. I was told that that was the way housekeeping was and to call back only if it still happened after 5pm (after housekeeping hours). It was impossible to get any rest during the day. I understand that housekeepers need to do their job but I wonder if this issue could be fixed simply by changing the door hinge to a slow close hinge. Also, in the middle of the night, I would wake up by the creaking noises of people above me when they walked across the room.
- Second issue was the thermostat. It was not adjustable and could only be controlled by the front desk. For some reason, the hotel decided that all the rooms needed to be in heating mode during the night. It was so hot and stuffy that I was not able to sleep for many nights. I had to call the front desk in the middle of the night to turn it off but sometimes it would automatically switch back on. Then I requested to have the cooling instead of heating on but it would be too cold at night and there was no way to dial it myself. So throughout my stay, it would feel like being inside either a sauna or a freezer.
NNuannuanIt's been a while, but the memory is still vivid. The room was spacious, and breakfast was excellent – unlimited egg tarts! The capsule coffee was surprisingly good, comparable to freshly ground. Maybe I was just exhausted, but this last stop was pretty good. It started raining heavily as we left, marking the beginning of the rainy season, yet the taxi drivers didn't overcharge, which felt like a perfect ending!
I must have a soft spot for Portugal; even after 10 days, I still wanted more. So, I'm happy to express my gratitude to the places I stayed and the people who helped and served me! Wishing you all the best!
