Hotel room was sufficient for a solo traveler. Hotel is also situated in a very convenient location with loads of food choices around the area. There is also a Lawson directly below the hotel for those midnight snack runs. However the Tv was a little soft couldn’t really hear the Tv clearly but overall great stay!

The most satisfying hotel during my trip to Northeast Japan!!! Comfortable, clean and good service! Pudding and water are provided in the room! There is free special apple juice and coffee on the first floor. A very detailed and practical introduction to the Nebuta Festival is posted, which is very helpful! There is free ramen at night. I was hungry and thirsty after watching the Nebuta Festival!! The public bath is also very enjoyable. There are apples in the outdoor pool and a sauna room to experience. The location is just a short walk from Yanagimachi by bus from the airport. There are also plenty of Japanese, Western and Chinese + Tony Rome restaurants (you can buy a great meal ticket at the hotel) in the hotel building, and there are bakery and Lawson, so it is really convenient. There is a popular soba restaurant called Kakizaki next door, but unfortunately it was reserved. There seems to be a lot of restaurants in the area, so I don't think you will have any trouble eating without going to the station.

Can’t fault the hotel at all on anything, super clean, really comfortable beds.. western breakfast was great and a block from the downtown area.. many places to choose, all super tasty and very well priced.. Aomori city deserves a visit if you’re looking for something special and the authentic cultural experience..

We spent a couple of nights at the Hotel Towadaso on our latest trip to Japan and found it to be a decent base for visiting the area. It is quite a big hotel and caters to the numerous bus tours that roll through the area, so it has a bit of a mass tourism feel to it which we didn’t like. The location is OK, just a 5-minute walk to the lake front, however not a very inspiring location. The hotel was clean and well-presented, ****s under control, but with an air of faded grandeur. The reception staff were all good, very helpful and spoke a little bit of English. Our Japanese style room was lovely, very large and airy, with plenty of areas for storage and room to spread out (but drastically lacking hooks to hang things on. Our futon bed was comfortable and we had a good night’s sleep. The room was clean and well-maintained. The walls however are a bit thin, so you are able to hear your neighbors engaged in conversation, and also a bit of noise from the hallway. There is a number of restaurants on site. The one we ate our dinners at wasn’t all that great. The food was quite bland and tasteless and not much that was even recognizable. Luckily we had some extra food with us to supplement with. The breakfast, on the other hand, was quite good, but you eat it in this massive industrial type cafeteria that is obviously geared up for the mass bus tours. Good food, zero ambience. The hotel wifi was intermittent, almost unusable in the evenings, so we just switched to 4G data. So overall, not a bad experience, but we’d probably look for something else if we were to stay in the area again.

I cannot see any CCTV in the corridor of guest room. This really worries me. Lights were too dim, very depressing. Rooms are small with odd spaces. We are able to make use of the odd spaces to put our luggage. Bath/toilets are even smaller. And usually we can smell a sewage smell in the bath room. What impress us is that though it is an old dated inn, Hotel has facilities for washing machine at 300 yen and dryer at 100 yen per 30 minutes. Japanese breakfast included was delicious and nutritious. Staff are always humble and friendly and informative. We can go to the lobby for coffee and bread (on the house) between 3 to 10pm. Rooms are clean and as days passed we forgot about the old property as staff are all cheerful and makes us happy. If hotel did not provide free breakfast, then the rate paid may not be worth for this hotel. I would only recommend this hotel to someone who needs breakfast and has a male companion and vigilant person.
