5-Star Hotels in Guangxi, China

We stayed at this hotel from August 12–17, 2026. It was the best hotel of our entire trip. 1. Location: The hotel is a 30‑minute walk from West Street. However, from 3:30 PM to 11:30 PM, a free shuttle bus runs between the hotel and West Street in both directions – very convenient! The area around the hotel isn't very touristy – there aren't many cafés or shops nearby, so for everything we had to go to West Street. 2. Hotel grounds: The crown jewel of the hotel is certainly its huge swimming pool surrounded by mountains. We had an absolutely unforgettable time swimming in the pool with that view. Unlike most Chinese hotels, the pool is deep (up to 1.7 m) and very large – even with many guests around, nobody got in anyone's way, and we could swim freely. A small downside is that there aren't many chairs or benches around the pool to put your things on, but we always found a spot. Besides the pool, the grounds include a lake (unfortunately the fountains weren't working), a tennis court, and a small walking area with swings. As a suggestion to the hotel: we missed evening lighting. It would be wonderful if the trees, the lake, or the mountains were illuminated, so that after sunset we could take an evening stroll. 3. Service: Deserves the highest praise! The day before our arrival, the manager contacted me on WeChat. When booking the room, I had left a request for a quiet room with a nice view. Since we had a room for three people, all such rooms faced the street and had no balcony. The manager took my request into account and gave us a free upgrade to a room with a balcony (with a stunning mountain view) and added a third bed. The manager, Xiuxiu, is absolutely incredible – she made our stay truly comfortable and took care of us throughout our entire visit. First, she spoke excellent English. Second, she was always available on WeChat and answered all our questions. Third, when we were checking out, my mum left her pendant in the pocket of the bathrobe and was very upset. I wrote to the hotel on WeChat asking them to look for it. Not only was the pendant found, but they also arranged express delivery to my Chinese friend on the very same day. That is professionalism at its best – thank you! Other requests during our stay were also handled promptly, such as changing the bathrobes to ones we preferred or bringing a third set of tableware. We also bought tickets for the Impression Liu Sanjie show at the reception. It was very convenient and cheaper than buying through the show's official WeChat account. The hotel offers many amenities: water, juice, and candies in the lobby, plenty of lounge areas, a shop, a free laundry room, and a gym. Breakfast at the hotel was very convenient. For European tastes, it wasn't extremely varied, but there was enough to choose from. It would be great if the café remained open during the day as well (for an extra charge). 4. Room: As I mentioned, we were upgraded to a room with a balcony. It was very quiet and the view was breathtaking. The room itself was large, with big, comfortable beds. There was a split‑system air conditioner (not a standard wall unit), but it was surprisingly tricky to adjust despite its seemingly simple controls – sometimes it would cool the room too much, and sometimes even when set to 23°C, the temperature would keep rising to 26°C, and so on. A slight inconvenience: the shower is right in the room (as in many Chinese hotels), and there's nowhere to hang a towel without it getting wet. But this wasn't a major issue. The room was cleaned daily: fresh water, tea bags, various kinds of coffee, towel changes, floor mopping! Upon check‑in, we were also greeted with a welcome fruit platter and even some instant noodles (which came in very handy after our journey). The room had a refrigerator and even a dish steriliser. It was quiet inside – we couldn't hear the neighbours, and there was no smell of cigarette smoke.

Amazing hotel with brilliant staff. The view surrounding the hotel is breathtaking. The hotel has everything (including big garden and swimming pool) and provides a 24 hour butler service via Wechat which meant someone was always answering our questions within seconds. They helped arranging food delivery into our room, booking attractions, arranging a driver to take us to Yangshuo (for free in a big air conditioned car), arranging room cleaning time when it's most convinient for us, and so much more. Thank you Kaysen and Mayling! The room was spacious with a big round bed (which turns 360 degrees and very comfortable) and a big bathtub overlooking the beautiful karst mountains. There was also a seperate big shower room, with excellent water pressure. The room and bathrooms are equipped with everything you need. The hotel provided free fruits, water to our room every day and filled up the minibar for free. We also received free afternoon tea (tea, coffee, cakes, fruits, nuts etc) each afternoon. They have also incuded a free professional photo shoot which I loved. We also received an evening dessert delivered into our room to taste the local flavours. The breakfast had great variety, excellent coffee and tea, everything I wanted and more, while enjoying the view from the restaurant. The breakfast, the lunch and dinner were all delicious so we kept having all our meals at the hotel (ordering the food several times to our room which was very convenient). They have free laundry service which can be done all by the hotel or by self service, based on the guest's requirement. I highly recommend the place.

The hotel is right next to the scenic area, with a small gate for easy access. The night view of Rong Lake is beautiful; you don't even need to take a boat, you can just stroll around and visit all the sights. The hotel itself has a lot of historical character and is a great spot for photos, offering a wonderful experience. A special thanks to the hotel for upgrading us to a balcony room. The balcony was huge and offered direct views, making it feel very luxurious. The only regret is that, probably because it was on the first floor, there was a slight musty smell due to dampness. The breakfast was also good, slightly exceeding expectations with everything you'd need. Overall, it was really great value for money.

Staying at the Xi Shi Jin She Hotel was an incredibly healing experience amidst the beautiful landscapes of Yangshuo. The hotel is located right by the Yulong River, and with the panoramic floor-to-ceiling windows, you're greeted by stunning karst peaks, with bamboo rafts slowly gliding by on the river – it feels like living inside a traditional Chinese ink painting. The room was clean and tidy, the toiletries were of excellent quality, and the facilities were exquisite and comprehensive. The butler service was attentive and thoughtful, and the authentic Guilin rice noodles for breakfast were fresh and delicious. The rooftop infinity pool offered amazing photo opportunities. It's also super convenient for visiting the Ten-Mile Gallery. This is definitely my top choice for a stay in Yangshuo, a perfect experience!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ This Might Be the Best Hotel in Guilin – Highly Recommended! If you’re planning a trip to Guilin, look no further. This hotel exceeded every expectation and became one of the biggest highlights of our trip. From the incredible location and breathtaking views to the outstanding service and unforgettable experiences, everything was simply perfect. 📍 The Perfect Location The hotel is perfectly located next to Fubo Hill, with beautiful views of the Li River and Guilin’s iconic karst mountains. The Two Rivers & Four Lakes Scenic Area, restaurants, cafés, shopping streets, and many of the city’s top attractions are all within easy walking distance. We couldn’t have chosen a better location. 🏊 Stunning Rooftop Infinity Pool The rooftop infinity pool is absolutely breathtaking. Swimming while enjoying panoramic views of the Li River and Guilin’s spectacular mountain landscape was one of the most memorable moments of our stay. It’s truly one of the most beautiful hotel pools we’ve ever experienced. 🍜 Breakfast with an Incredible View Every morning began with a delicious breakfast overlooking the Li River and the surrounding karst mountains. The food was excellent, offering both Chinese and Western options, and the beautiful scenery made every breakfast feel special. 🛏️ Beautiful Rooms The room was spacious, spotless, stylish, and equipped with everything we needed. Every detail was thoughtfully designed, making our stay incredibly comfortable. ❤️ Exceptional Hospitality The staff were among the friendliest we’ve met during our travels. Everyone was genuinely kind, attentive, and always happy to help. Their warmth and professionalism made us feel at home from the moment we arrived. 🎣 Authentic Local Experiences This hotel offers so much more than just a place to stay. One of our favorite experiences was traditional riverside fishing with cormorants, which was both relaxing and uniquely local. We also loved the Chinese calligraphy class, children’s craft activities, and the complimentary traditional costume photoshoot with three beautifully edited photos included. 👨👩👧👦 Perfect for Families Our children loved the spacious indoor playroom and all the activities prepared by the hotel. It is an excellent choice for families traveling with kids. 🍽️ Excellent Restaurant We also had dinner at the hotel’s restaurant and were genuinely impressed. The food was delicious, beautifully presented, and the atmosphere was wonderful. 🧺 Thoughtful Extras Free self-service laundry, complimentary cultural activities, lovely farewell gifts, and so many thoughtful little touches made our stay even more memorable. ✨ Final Thoughts This hotel offers far more than just a beautiful place to stay—it creates unforgettable memories. Every detail, from the stunning views and panoramic rooftop pool to the warm hospitality and unique cultural experiences, made our visit truly special. We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Guilin. It truly might be the best hotel in the city!

Yangshuo Shixi Tianyue Hotel boasts an excellent location, within walking distance to West Street and the Li River pier. It's a peaceful retreat, away from the hustle and bustle. The rooms are spacious and clean, with floor-to-ceiling windows offering scenic mountain and river views, and the bedding is very comfortable. The rooftop Sky Mirror is perfect for photos. The hotel also features a swimming pool, a kids' playground, and a rich breakfast selection. The service is attentive and thoughtful, and parking is convenient for those driving. It's easy to get around and explore, offering great value for money.

Yangshuo Sugarhouse has always been a hotel I've wanted to visit, and a serendipitous opportunity finally brought me here, marking my first trip to Yangshuo. True to its pictures, it's exactly as you've seen it. Admittedly, it's no longer a new hotel, and I had some reservations beforehand, as similar-priced hotels in the same category might offer larger, more luxurious options. However, for design enthusiasts, Sugarhouse is special; it's a destination in itself. My first impression was that the hotel is reasonably well-maintained, and the service is always pleasant and attentive. I always assumed these were standard expectations in such hotels, not worth mentioning. Yet, it wasn't until I truly experienced the various facets of Yangshuo that I realized Sugarhouse is an oasis in this bustling, chaotic, and often less-than-pleasant destination. Yangshuo is beautiful, but its natural charm isn't always enough to offset some disappointing tourist experiences. You might exert a lot of effort trying to soak in the legendary landscapes, only to be left unsatisfied, perhaps due to early mornings or overwhelming crowds. But at Sugarhouse, you can intimately connect with Yangshuo's mountains and rivers, as they are right outside your room, beyond the iconic pool view. During the day, you can fully immerse yourself in nature undisturbed, and as dusk falls, the lights of Impression Liu Sanjie illuminate them, making you a part of the landscape. Finding such tranquility in this destination is incredibly precious, a realization I only had after switching to other hotels. The service here carries a hint of genuine, endearing awkwardness, and you can sense that achieving this level of service isn't easy. The bartender at 1969 Bar recommended a special concoction when I was indecisive, allowing me to savor the last season's season of loquat gin, which was unforgettable. Lucy at the front desk was incredibly helpful in resolving my issues, and when I pointed out some minor flaws in the room, they were already being addressed – truly tiny details that not everyone would notice, demonstrating their genuine care for guests. I met a gentleman at breakfast who enthusiastically and meticulously introduced me to oil tea and proactively helped me carry it to my upstairs seat when my hands were full. On my departure day, I even saw him standing at the lobby entrance at 36 degrees Celsius, assisting guests. Later, I learned he was the hotel's general manager. The people here are sincere and responsible, and what initially felt like minor imperfections transformed into a stark difference after comparison. I can give the experience here full marks. Some friends might find it too boring, with too many cars on the highway outside the rooms. But if you've experienced the endless swarm of electric scooters, the ubiquitous paid parking lots, and the so-called villas that cost 3,000 yuan with no view whatsoever, you'll realize that not only is the pricing here quite fair, but it's also almost the only viable accommodation option in Yangshuo. Of course, this is just for reference if you don't plan on venturing out, but Sugarhouse still offers many interesting services that make it a highly recommendable choice.

Bringing my family to Nanning, I chose the family two-bedroom connecting room at this hotel, and the experience was absolutely flawless. Regarding the room: The design of the connecting room is excellent. Close the two doors, and it's a private world; open them, and it's a joyful family space. The room is extremely spacious, with no cramped feeling for three adults. The tea table in the living room was our favorite spot for tea and chats every evening. Regarding the service: A special thanks to the hotel for their thoughtful arrangements. Knowing we had an evening flight, they allowed us to check out late at 4 PM. This humane consideration made our trip very relaxed. We could even go back to the room for a comfortable nap in the afternoon, and there was no 'rushed' feeling like we were fighting a battle when checking out. Regarding the dining: The cloud-top view at breakfast is superb, and the Laoyou noodles and five-colored glutinous rice were a big hit with my family. Dinner at the Nalian Chinese restaurant was also a first-class experience, especially the braised pork belly – it was fatty but not greasy, melted in your mouth, and incredibly delicious with rice. In Nanning, Nalian will always be our top choice. I highly recommend it to all families traveling!

Our trip to Yangshuo was quite an unexpected encounter. We had originally booked another guesthouse with the same name, but by a stroke of fate, we ended up at 'Poetry & Distance,' which was twice the price. At first, I was worried about the hassle of changing, so we decided to stay, and it turned out to be full of pleasant surprises. The hotel's location is excellent, making travel along the Yulong River incredibly convenient. You can take a taxi to Jima Pier for a bamboo raft ride, float downstream to the comprehensive pier, and then it's just a short walk back to the hotel after disembarking. No need for transfers or extra travel, making the experience very smooth. The interior design is elegant, facilities are comprehensive, and the staff service is attentive and thoughtful. The bedding in the room was what impressed me most; the memory foam pillows provided excellent support for my neck and shoulders, truly alleviating the fatigue from a day of sightseeing. The breakfast selection was rich, offering not only standard dishes but also rare delicacies like douhua (tofu pudding) and fresh mushrooms. The hotel's amenities are extensive, including a swimming pool, singing bowl healing sessions, and craft workshops. In the evening, I experienced the singing bowl sound therapy led by a young man; the clear and lingering bowl sounds soothed the restlessness of travel. Listening to it before bed was calming and helped with sleep. The only minor drawback was a slight odor from the tatami mat in the room. After my child's clothes were left on it overnight, his skin became itchy after he put them on the next day. I suspect the mat might be damp or harbor small insects. If they could improve ventilation, mite removal, and deep cleaning of the mat, the experience would be almost perfect. Overall, this is a beautiful guesthouse full of poetic charm, with warm service and a convenient location. Highly recommended.

Better maintained than I expected! I was initially hesitant to book, fearing the hotel might be old, but a 5-star is a 5-star. The service is excellent, and the rooms are clean and hygienic. Parking is convenient, and the location is great with everything you need nearby. The hotel's front desk is even a popular spot for photos! I'd definitely stay here again if I have the chance; it offers great value for money. Plus, the best Thai milk tea is right nearby—it couldn't be more perfect!
