5-Star Hotels in Gifu Prefecture, Japan

The service was excellent. I especially want to praise the front desk lady that day, because we lost something at the previous hotel the night before, and the hotel's telephone customer service could only speak Japanese, so we couldn't communicate. The front desk lady of this hotel was very patient in helping us. It took up a lot of his time, but she was always very enthusiastic. The hotel also offers indoor and outdoor hot springs, and the restaurant in the hotel also serves good food. The breakfast in the morning was also delicious with a lot of variety. It was a very pleasant stay experience.

The rooms arranged by the hotel are quiet and comfortable, with a nice view outside the window, with a close view of the Nagara River and a distant view of Gifu Castle. It takes about 15 minutes to walk to Gifu Park, and there is a cable car directly to Gifu Castle. The scenery is nice and worth a visit. The hotel is far from the station and you need to take a taxi. The breakfast tastes good, but it is sometimes out of stock.

The location is superb, the old town is just opposite the hotel. Easy to navigate around the area with 2 morning markets nearby. We were also satisfied with the dinner and breakfast served, good variety and delicious.The only thing I hope could be improved is the female bath as there is only 1 bath which is not big, can get crowded when there are many guests.

We chose Hanajoan for this trip to Takayama. The environment, service and food were far beyond our expectations. The bathroom in the room was relatively small, but the room had its own hot spring bath which was very good. The hotel provided free pick-up service from the station. When we arrived at Takayama Station, the hotel staff was already waiting at the exit with a sign. We were picked up by an old luxury car.
