5-Star Hotels in Shan, Myanmar

One of the most incredible hotels I’ve stayed at! I absolutely loved my stay at Sanctum Inle Resort. I had high expectations going in, but somehow this place managed to exceed every single one of them. I honestly wish I had stayed longer! First, the property itself is just spectacular. It’s situated right on Inle Lake, with beautiful views, gorgeous grounds, and a wonderful sense of peace and privacy. The pool is stunning, and everything about the property feels luxurious without being over the top. It’s the kind of place where you could happily spend an entire day just enjoying the surroundings. The hotel was also kind enough to give me a complimentary upgrade to a beautiful lake-facing room, which was such a lovely surprise. The views were incredible, especially around sunset when the light reflected off the water. It was one of my favorite moments from my time in Myanmar. Beyond the property, what really stood out was the hospitality. The staff were genuinely wonderful — incredibly attentive, thoughtful, and always eager to help. The food was also absolutely delicious. I enjoyed everything I ate! And perhaps the most surprising part is the value. I’ve stayed at luxury hotels around the world, and I genuinely think a property of this caliber could easily cost several times as much in the United States. The combination of the setting, accommodations, food, amenities, and service is really hard to beat. I don’t write reviews this enthusiastic very often, but Sanctum Inle absolutely deserves it. It was one of the highlights of my trip to Myanmar, and I would go back in a heartbeat. If you’re visiting Inle Lake, I can’t recommend this place enough!
