AangramdaniStaying here was great, it's close to many malls and food options. The only downside was the slow refilling of items. Breakfast starts at 6 AM, but by 6:30 AM, some dishes were already gone and it took a while for them to be replenished. Swimming pool is still available.
GGuest UserWe stayed during Ied Mubarak holiday for 4 days/3 nights in April 2025. We booked 2 connecting rooms for my family (4 persons). I chose this hotel because it has swimming pool and gym, we used to exercise daily. In fact, the gym was closed for long term maintenance. It should be declared and crossed out from the hotel facility so we noticed from beginning, not surprised on site. The rooms at a glance were ok but when we looked to the interior were lousy. The curtain, gordyn, and bed lamps, dirty and stained. My children room has no curtain, so direct sunshine and very hot during the day. The towel seemed already used for years. not soft, looks lousy and the color not pure white as normally hotel towel. Each room provided safety box but no function at all. if you see the direction on the safety box (see the photo), it supposed has red button inside the box but no button at all. The safety box used 4 battery. In my room has only 2 batteries out of 4 and already expired since March 2018. My children' room has 4 battery but also not functioned. the button numbers and keys cant be pressed so we cant keep important and valuable items inside it. The swimming pool were crowded and the water was dirty. the hotel supposed to overall cleaning to the pool due to holiday seasons but the water obviously dirty. The parking lot is low maintenance, dirty, and rubbish everwhere. the Horison Ultima was only 3 years old last December 2024 as I saw from the stickwerck at lobby. The hotel was Star Hotel and changed to Horison Ultima. The parking lot was narrow and limited. For location is ok, near Java Mall. good for morning walk. the hotel staffs were polite and fast response. the amenities for 4* hotel is good enough. the mini fridge in the room is ok as well as the Aircon. If I may advise the management, please take serious attention to the cleanliness and maintenance also room refurbishment to the lousy interior inside as top priority.
AAnonymous UserNice staycation at one of the 4-star hotels in the heart of Semarang, near Simpang Lima. It's a cool new hotel, clean, and has a strategic location. Right next to the hotel, there are plenty of food options, like Tegal goat satay and authentic Semarang Hapkie noodles, plus a Superindo supermarket across the street.
I often stay at this hotel chain for business trips. The breakfast menu has a good variety, including dim sum. The only downside is that the rooms don't have wardrobes, drawers, or anything like that, so there's no space to store belongings.
One more important thing: please offer more attractive big discounts so I'll always book through vendors like Trip.com.
WWilly遊印尼🌟 Rating: 4.5 / 5 | A classic, well-established hotel with an excellent location and attentive service, perfect for both business and leisure!
✍️ Review:
My stay at Novotel Semarang was very satisfying overall; it truly lives up to its international brand reputation, with all aspects performing above average.
Excellent Location: The hotel is situated in a prime location in downtown Semarang, offering incredibly convenient transportation access to the Old Town (Kota Lama), popular attractions, and shopping malls. It's a top choice for both business travelers and tourists.
High Standard of Service and Dining: The staff were exceptionally warm and professional right from check-in. I especially want to praise their breakfast – the variety was impressive, with a wide selection of local Indonesian flavors and Western dishes, all prepared with great care.
Well-Equipped Facilities, Though Showing Some Age: The room was spacious, and the bedding was very comfortable, ensuring a good night's sleep. While it's clear the hotel has been around for a while and the decor is more classic and traditional, the overall cleanliness was spotless, and maintenance was excellent. The hotel's pool and gym were also very clean, perfect for relaxing after a busy day.
LLeoni AngelaThis hotel is great and very comfortable, and super affordable! It was our go-to place to stay when my friends and I went hiking in the Dieng area. We looked around, and this hotel was definitely the best! Super satisfied!
GGuest UserThe room type was slightly on the pricier side, location not the best as well, but the hotel more than makes up for it with its comfortable beds, variety of food, and all the awesome antique vehicles in its hotel lobby.
Room service food tasted good, with the food coming within 30-45mins both times we ordered. Hotel breakfast had a variety of local food and some western options.
For the ladies, there's a popular hair and nail salon right beside the hotel, and beside it there's a shop that sells facial, hair, and beauty products.
For the gentlemen, there are quite abit of antique bicycles, cars and a vespa at the hotel lobby. If you're a fan of old cars, you're gonna love this.
There are convenience marts (Alfa Mart and Indomart) nearby. Just a word of warning, Indomart do not accept credit cards, so if you prefer using cards, please just go to Alfa Mart for your snacks and drinks
Overall, pretty good value for money
EeyecandygoThis is one of the best hotels I've stayed at in years, easily top three. Their attention to detail and dedication to service quality are absolutely incredible. I wholeheartedly and earnestly recommend this hotel to all travelers; they are truly outstanding. As for location, it's very close to Semarang's Old Town, about 500 meters away, making it a pleasant 10-15 minute walk to explore the old town's charm and vibrant atmosphere.
DdanilangginanstGreat hotel actually, nice pool and breakfast, but the building and interior is a little bit old that I’m not really into it. Many cracks at the wall and floor that not looks good. Its located in a local residences, not too close to the center of the city.
GGuest UserUpon check-in, we received a complimentary personalized welcome drink, which was a nice touch. The service overall was excellent, the room was spacious and quite clean. As it's a Marriott property, I was able to earn Marriott points, making for a very satisfying stay. The burger on the hotel's menu was also delicious. Overall, a great experience!
GGuest UserThe hotel and its facilities are so complete that you can just enjoy your stay within the hotel itself. Breakfast is comprehensive, parking is spacious, and the rooms are clean. However, the check-in process was slow, and our room wasn't ready until 3:30 PM. I booked two rooms, and one of them wasn't ready until 4:30 PM. When we finally received the keys, we found that the pillows didn't have pillowcases, with the excuse given that they weren't available yet. There was also no bath mat, even though the keys had already been handed over. Furthermore, there were still items left behind by the previous guest in the room.
