SHIROYAMA HOTEL kagoshima

This was my first trip to Kagoshima, Kyushu, and your hotel's setting was absolutely stunning, offering distant views of Sakurajima volcano. The hot springs within the hotel also have excellent water quality, especially the open-air bath where you can gaze at Sakurajima. If the weather is good, you can even catch the sunrise around 5:30 AM, truly experiencing the majestic power of nature! The hotel's buffet breakfast lived up to its reputation and was definitely worth the price! Plus, there's a free shuttle bus service daily from Kagoshima-Chuo Station to the hotel. All in all, it's a high-quality hotel well worth staying at for anyone visiting Kagoshima.

⭐⭐⭐½ — Pricia Resort Yoron, Japan My stay at Pricia Resort on Yoron Island was a mixed but overall pleasant experience. The location is undeniably stunning — crystal-clear turquoise waters, white sandy beaches, and the kind of tropical scenery that makes you feel completely removed from the everyday hustle. The standout of the entire trip was without a doubt the staff - Tana, Takumi, Hoshi. From check-in to check-out, every team member was warm, attentive, and genuinely eager to make my stay special. They went above and beyond with local recommendations and were always on hand with a smile. Breakfast is great with lots of choices on buffet. There is also all day lounge to get free drinks and nuts. The resort itself has real charm and a wonderful atmosphere, but it’s clear that the facilities are showing their age. Several areas would benefit significantly from renovation — from the rooms to the common areas, a refresh would bring the physical experience in line with the exceptional service and natural beauty surrounding it. That said, if you’re looking for a peaceful island escape with a welcoming team and breathtaking scenery, Pricia Resort still delivers. With some investment in the property, this could easily be one of the best resort experiences in southern Japan. Recommended for: nature lovers, snorkeling enthusiasts, and travelers seeking an off-the-beaten-path Japanese island escape. A must visit - Yurigahama Beach! Uninhabited place and this is the iconic beach of Yoron.

The hotel's location is excellent; you can reach it via an underground passage directly from Kagoshima-Chuo Station. It might be a bit tricky to find the first time, but you can also use the pedestrian bridge above ground. The hotel breakfast features many local specialties, highly recommended! There are convenience stores, Don Quijote, and various restaurants nearby, which is super convenient. I was also happy to see Sakurajima from my room! The only downside was that the room was quite dusty. I'm not sure if it was due to inadequate cleaning or if it's a common issue in Kagoshima itself. Also, there wasn't much in terms of service; both check-in and check-out were self-service.

The Japanese-style room was much better than I expected. The blankets were very warm, and there was a convenience store nearby, which was very convenient. There were several types of hot springs to choose from, and the open-air hot spring was especially amazing. It was definitely worth the price of admission.

This is a well appointed hotel and the staff were very helpful. The rooms are small but well appointed and most have a fabulous view of Sakura-Jima- you can go up to the viewing platform if not. Two things to consider - there is no parking at the hotel or anywhere to just stop unless you stop in an alley around the corner. You can park at a Centerrace parking overnight for Y1000 - go here first and walk to the hotel. Secondly, the food is ok but there are lots of places nearby to eat.

It took a long time to choose a hotel in Ibusuki, and there were very few pictures and information about Xiu Sui En. However, after seeing netizens commenting that its kaiseki cuisine is its specialty, as foodies, we decided to book this hotel with the mentality of giving it a try, and the result! Really like it! Service: Regarding the service, it is really a detail that only traditional Japanese hotels have. After we checked in, a pair of waiters came to pick us up and take us to the hot spring (private hot spring only costs about 100 yuan) and take us there. The restaurant (you must try the food, it is exquisite and delicious), the most surprising thing is that my slippers (fur slippers) were scorched and wet by the rain when I entered the door. I even jokingly asked my husband if they would see that my shoes were wet. Then help me dry it, otherwise I will have to wear wet shoes again the next day and end up going out the next morning! It was really dried (because one of them got smaller and shrunk hahaha, so it was definitely dried), and when we asked for any service, they would not ask us which room we were in, their waiters would remember us and serve us directly. We have arranged everything. Having said so much, we still have to experience it ourselves, haha.

The furniture is a bit dated and worn out but it has a million dollar view of Sakurajima. I had planned to stay only for one night on my way elsewhere but after seeing the view from my balcony, I immediately booked another night and the next day, the staff were very accommodating to allow me to stay in the same room without checking out and checking back in later. Would totally recommend this hotel to anyone.

It was our first time travelling to Kagoshima and was pleasantly surprised by the size of the room. There are no keys or cards issued for room access, and all you need is the pin code or QR code. I really like that the room has the essential items that you will need during your stay - microwave, stove, washing machine. The hotel do not do housekeeping on a daily basis but it was all good for us as they do refresh the towels everyday. They also provide a water dispenser and ice machine at Level 1. The location of the hotel is fantastic - bars and food joints are just walking distance away and there is a 7-11 at each end of the street. I would highly recommend the hotel for any travellers.

The facilities are complete, and the front desk is on the third floor. The location is great, very close to the Planetarium business district. There's a large Don Quijote right across the street from the hotel. It's about a 10-15 minute walk from the station, so not too far. The service is excellent and the staff are very friendly. Coming from Fukuoka to Kagoshima, I felt the rooms here were quite affordable! 😂

The room was very spacious and clean. The kids had fun running up and down. Got everything needed in the room from electronic stove to washing machine. The mattress and pillows were the best! We had great sleep and got recharged perfectly!
