The hotel's location is excellent, with direct access to Nanping Pedestrian Street, Kunming Old Street, and Jinma Biji Archway right downstairs. It's also a 5-minute walk to the subway station, and a 10-minute taxi ride to Green Lake Park and the Yunnan Military Academy. The surrounding area is packed with local snacks and long-standing eateries. The rooms are well-equipped, spacious, and bright, with clean, separate wet and dry bathrooms and automatic toilets. The breakfast buffet offers a wide variety, including freshly made Yunnan rice noodles, *rubing* (a type of cheese), flower pastries, and other local specialties, as well as Western options like cheese, coffee, and pastries, providing a great blend of Chinese and Western choices. The service was warm and courteous; staff even proactively recommended local delicacies, and the concierge kindly helped with our luggage. We also received complimentary fruit.

Highly recommend the InterContinental Xishuangbanna Resort! The entire hotel is a massive tropical garden, with lush greenery and traditional Dai-style architecture everywhere. Every step is a scenic view, and it's incredibly pleasant for walks and photos. It's a perfect experience for families with kids, with excellent child-friendly facilities. There's a water park, kids' club, peacock feeding, and numerous rice paddy activities. The children played from morning till night and didn't want to leave. The dining options are extensive, with a wide variety at breakfast, including special kids' meals, which made the little ones very happy and satisfied. The service is thoughtful and attentive. It's truly the top choice for a family vacation with kids. We'll definitely stay here again next time we visit Xishuangbanna!

This hotel is a hidden gem! I booked a special offer room, and they assigned us a cave-themed room. My girlfriend absolutely loved it, and it was perfect for photos. The service was excellent, with free airport pickup and complimentary breakfast. The room even had coffee and Pu'er tea, and it was immaculately clean. The only minor thing is that there's no window, but with the air conditioning and fresh air system, it wasn't an issue at all. The room was very quiet. Downstairs, there are electric scooter rentals, a supermarket, and all sorts of local eateries. Highly recommend!

Stayed two nights at this Wanda hotel in Kunming and had a pleasant overall experience. Convenient location: roughly a 10-minute taxi ride from Kunming Railway Station. Adjacent to Wanda Shopping Mall with full dining, shopping and daily amenities; a newly opened large supermarket nearby with abundant goods, which we visited twice. Booking messages via the travel platform were initially replied to slowly, yet issues got resolved promptly after contacting the front office manager. The subsequent service was excellent. The hotel helped receive our parcels shipped via Taobao, letting us collect items before departing for Singapore. Staff at the executive lounge were warm and informative, with decent complimentary drinks and snacks available. Rooms are well-equipped, featuring a wet-dry separated bathroom and walk-in closet. Comfortable bedding plus a choice of pillow types further boosted our stay. Would recommend.

The location is unbeatable, directly facing Cuihu Park. Open the French windows and you're greeted with lake views and weeping willows. In autumn and winter, you can even spot red-billed gulls. Yunnan University and the Yunnan Military Academy are within walking distance, making it convenient for exploring the old city without much travel. The hotel's design was partly conceived by I.M. Pei, blending new Chinese style with retro Art Deco. The lobby's gilded lotus sculpture, rosewood carvings, and vintage staircase create an incredible ambiance. The gardens are tranquil and elegant, and every photo you take captures the unique, understated elegance of a historic five-star hotel. Service is gentle, understated, and perfectly balanced, never intrusive. Upon check-in, guests receive fresh flowers and welcome fruits, and the room is refreshed daily with Yunnan-style floral arrangements. Turndown service includes peach gum and white fungus soup, along with seagull-shaped cookies – thoughtful details that truly shine. The 24-hour butler service is on-call, and staff members politely greet guests, always professional and sincere. The room comfort exceeded expectations. The bedding is soft and plush, and the soundproofing is excellent. During the dry season, the whole-house humidity control system is a lifesaver, especially for those with allergies. The bathroom features a built-in TV in the bathtub and electric privacy glass. All mini-bar drinks are complimentary, and there's even freshly ground Yunnan small-grain coffee, adding a distinct local touch. Breakfast is served in the lake-view restaurant, offering a rich variety of authentic dishes, including freshly prepared Crossing-the-Bridge Noodles, 'posu bao' (flaky steamed buns), and rose 'naiba Jiu' (a local milky wine). Dining by the lake creates an exceptional atmosphere. The accompanying heated pool is clean and uncrowded, perfect for relaxation. Whether for business or leisure, this hotel is perfectly suited. As a hotel boasting views, it would be great if the room windows could be cleaned more thoroughly with an automatic window cleaner, especially since the scenery is the main selling point. Also, it seems the hotel just opened and hasn't decided whether to be pet-friendly yet. I highly recommend they do! Dog owners who travel with their small dogs and are willing to spend more on good hotels usually have well-behaved pets, and are often very considerate. The views are, without a doubt, amazing, and the staff offers service with a smile. Afternoon tea can be delivered to your room, and you can enjoy the golden sunrise over the mountains right from your room. I hope the hotel continues to improve!

My stay at the Sofitel Kunming with a Dianchi Lake view room was absolutely perfect! The high-floor, panoramic French windows offered stunning views – during the day, I could see Dianchi Lake and the Western Hills in the distance, and in the evening, the sunset painted the lake beautifully. The nighttime city lights were incredibly soothing. The room's French-style soft furnishings were elegant, and the MyBed bedding was so soft and comfortable for sleeping. The bathtub with a view, paired with Lanvin toiletries, created a fantastic atmosphere for a relaxing soak while enjoying the scenery. Young at the front desk provided thoughtful service and handled check-in efficiently. The room was clean and odor-free. The hotel's location is convenient, and it has excellent facilities including a heated swimming pool and a high-altitude restaurant. The French design blended with Yunnan characteristics makes this view room the top choice for a vacation in Kunming. Highly recommended!

The room was clean and tidy, and the smart assistant Xiaodu was very convenient. Every staff member I encountered, from the front desk to the housekeeping auntie, was very polite and enthusiastic. The location is super convenient, with a night market downstairs, making it easy to eat, live, and get around! 👍🏻
