AAe^xI highly recommend this hotel! The breakfast is incredibly lavish, and the staff are super friendly. The Echo Lounge offers amazing panoramic city views, and there's a pool too.
If your room faces the mosque at night, you can hear the call to prayer, which is quite interesting. Instead of rushing through your trip like a 'special forces' tourist, consider staying here longer. You can hire a car from here to visit Bromo, Sewu Waterfall, the mosque, and explore the fish market and old town. Enjoy a traditional local black coffee, delve into colonial history at antique shops and the Heroes Museum, and chat with the locals (I strongly advise against shopping malls, they're so boring!). That's what real travel is all about, isn't it?

The room was spacious and comfortable, and the bedding was as soft as ever, making it incredibly easy to sleep. The service was thoughtful; I felt warmth and smiles from check-in to check-out. Breakfast was abundant, offering both international cuisine and authentic Indonesian flavors. The pool had an expansive view, perfect for gazing at the city skyline. Suitable for both business and leisure.

I had a wonderful stay overall, and while there are a few areas where the hotel can step up its game, the foundation is absolutely there for this to become an exceptional property.
🏨 The Hardware & Facilities (Top-Notch!)
On the physical side of things, the hotel completely delivers. The rooms are comfortable and well-designed, the gym is well-equipped for a holiday workout, and the swimming pool area is beautiful—perfect for soaking in the quiet energy of the region.
🍳 Food & A Soothing Morning Ritual
The culinary experience was a highlight. The food quality was solid, and the local flavors were genuinely delicious. But my absolute favorite part of the morning was the outdoor breakfast area, where they offer fish feeding. Watching the fish move gracefully through the water while enjoying breakfast was incredibly calming and set a beautiful, soothing tone for the day.
🌱 Areas for Growth: Service & Sustainability
To truly elevate this hotel to a 5-star luxury standard, there are two areas I’d love to see improve:
Eco-Friendly Amenities: In a pristine destination like Banyuwangi, sustainability matters. Currently, the hotel is still using single-use plastic containers for bathroom amenities. Shifting toward refillable dispensers or biodegradable alternatives would align beautifully with the natural essence of the area.
Staff Guidance: The young team members have incredible potential and are clearly eager, but they just need a bit more structured guidance and hospitality training. With the right leadership, this passionate young staff could easily turn good service into an exceptional guest experience.

Overall, I will absolutely come back! There is so much promise here, and I have high hopes that the team will take this constructive feedback to heart and continue to polish their service. If you are looking for a peaceful getaway in Banyuwangi, this is still a highly recommended spot.

GGalih Prima Aditya FirdausThe location is a bit out of the way, and access is still limited as it's a new property and hadn't had its grand opening yet when I visited. However, the service was absolutely outstanding; the staff were very open to directly asking guests for feedback and suggestions. There will be more facilities in the future as it's still under development. But the view from the hotel room was stunning, both at night and in the morning. The restaurant's food was delicious too.

GGuest UserI had a very pleasant stay at Golden Tulip Holland Batu. The rooms are comfortable and well maintained, and there are plenty of TV channels to choose from.
A special mention to Miss Fitri, who helped me with check-in. She was very kind, professional, and welcoming, and made the arrival experience especially smooth.
The hotel staff in general are amazing and clearly do a great job. The breakfast also offers a wide variety of options, so there is something for everyone.
The spa area is excellent, especially the jacuzzi and sauna — a great place to relax after exploring Batu.
A few things could be improved:
- On Friday and Saturday evenings, the live music at the lobby restaurant can be quite loud and is clearly audible from the rooms. Thankfully, it usually ends around 10 PM.
- There is some kind of background noise in the room 24/7 that I couldn't identify. It sounds somewhat like a distant/remote vacuum cleaner and can be noticeable when the room is otherwise quiet.
- The bed blanket could be a little thicker and warmer, especially considering the cooler temperatures at night in Batu.
Overall, I really enjoyed my stay. The excellent staff, good rooms, great spa facilities, and varied breakfast made it a very positive experience. I would definitely consider staying here again.

GGuest UserThis is probably the most affordable Shangri-La hotel. Security is very strict—both cars and guests have to go through security checks upon entry. The check-in process at the hotel takes a bit too long, which easily leads to long queues. The room was quite nice, but many of the additional services come with very high fees. The swimming pool is on the ground floor, and wearing a swim trunk isn't strictly required, which is a nice touch. The pool has varying depths; the 2.4-meter section is quite dangerous and not recommended for the unprepared—it's much safer to walk over to the 1.4-meter area to get in.
