The Park Front Hotel at Universal Studios Japan

9.2/10
Great
Posted on Aug 27, 2026|Standard Floor City View Twin Room
CNYuping
We chose this hotel for our trip to Universal Studios, and it's conveniently located not far from the park entrance, making coming and going very easy. There are plenty of dining options nearby, as well as Universal Studios merchandise stores. The day we arrived happened to be a Japanese holiday, so it was incredibly crowded. Check-in started at 3 PM, and we had to wait in line for a long time. The hotel is quite large and even has a Family Mart convenience store inside, which was great since we didn't book breakfast. We booked a city view room, but the front desk gave us a room on the 4th floor, so there was basically no view outside the window. For Japan, the room was quite spacious. Overall, it was convenient for accessing Universal Studios.

Excellent value for money! The hotel organizes various activities to liven things up. At breakfast, you can enjoy the scenery while savoring your meal. The location is incredibly convenient, whether you're heading to Shinsaibashi or the subway station, and there's a great variety of restaurants nearby. We had a very comfortable and relaxing night at Tokyu Stay Osaka Honmachi. We would definitely choose this hotel again next time we visit Osaka.

The room is small but can open two suitcases. The public bath and spa are excellent. Close to JR station and donki. But the staff and hotel policy are terrible and I could only rate it woth adverse comment. First, at checkin the staff did not tell us the spa world could be used even after checkout, so we had no idea we could still stay to play the spa world the next day until we learnt it from other residents in the hotel. If we have learnt it earlier at checkin we might adjust our travelling plan as we checkin late at night from landing. Second, upon checkout we asked for luggage storage service, which is very basic services of hotel, but the staff said if we were leaving and not staying for the spa, they would not keep our luggage. I am not meaning leaving Japan but I just go out from breakfast or some shopping. I have visited Japan multiple times and stayed in many hotels or residence, and this is the first one not offering luggage storage service. Please do not call this a hotel if you refuse to offer luggage storage service. Third, the hotel prohibited any slipper and every one had to walk back to rooms in bare feet after public bath, this sounds dirty while the staff was wearing slipper. Hotel could provide slippers and require resident to wear hotel slippers only. Bad experience and poor service.

Mercure Tokyu Stay Osaka Namba

This hotel is great! The location is perfect, right in the heart of Shinsaibashi and Namba, the most bustling areas. There's a convenience store right outside. You can smoke on the 2nd floor. It's not far from the subway station, and there are plenty of dining options nearby. I was really happy with the hotel's location. There were always two police officers on duty outside, which made me feel very safe. There was no tax collected upon check-in. Overall, everything was good, and I'd choose this hotel again next time. The only downside is that the room is a bit too dark, and the light by the sink seems to be always on – I couldn't find a way to turn it off during my six-day stay.

Hotel Hankyu Respire Osaka

9.2/10
Great

I booked the largest triple room, but it was still a bit cramped and hard to open our luggage. Plus, the bathroom and toilet doors are sliding doors that face the head of the bed. If you get up at night, opening them makes a lot of noise, which could wake someone up. Also, the cleaning staff only emptied the trash cans. The extra trash I left next to the overflowing bin wasn't taken for two days. However, the location is absolutely unbeatable. It's centrally located for both Hankyu and Lucua, and easily accessible whether you use the underground passages or the skywalks. The only minor drawback is that the shops in this area don't open until 11 AM and start closing around 8 PM.

I always opt for five-star hotels when I travel, but summer prices were just too high this year. So, I took a friend's recommendation and booked this place instead. 👍 It's about an hour from Kansai Airport, and Exit 13 is the closest to the hotel. The downside is there's no elevator there, so if you have a lot of luggage, I'd suggest Exit 16, which has one. The hotel's service and facilities are excellent. The room was quite spacious by Japanese hotel standards, and the bedding was incredibly comfortable – we slept soundly every night. The location is also fantastic, about a 15-minute walk to Shinsaibashi. We stayed for five nights this time and visited Kobe and Kyoto. The Chuo and Midosuji subway lines right downstairs were super convenient. I have to mention one particular incident. Check-out was at 11 AM, and our flight wasn't until 5 PM on the last day. Thinking we had plenty of time, my child and I went to Nipponbashi that morning. It wasn't until we got there that I remembered check-out was at 11! Luckily, my mother wasn't with us; she was having coffee at a cafe across from the hotel. I immediately contacted her and asked her to rush back to check out. But to our surprise, her Huawei phone couldn't connect to the hotel's Wi-Fi when she got back, and the only Pocket Wi-Fi device was with me! 😵💫 Since the reservation was under my name, the front desk needed to confirm check-out with me personally. But there was a language barrier, and my mom had no internet. She was incredibly flustered at that moment. Just then, a Chinese-speaking staff member appeared. He first calmed her down, telling her not to worry and that he would find a way to contact me, also explaining that the hotel's network was often unstable. He then took out a device and tried to connect her phone to the Wi-Fi in the lobby, but after many attempts, it didn't work. So, he took my mother back to the room and tried many more times until it finally connected, and he was able to reach me... His professionalism and meticulous work attitude deeply touched our entire family. We'd like to express our gratitude once again! I will definitely choose Tokyu Stay Osaka Hommachi again next time I visit Osaka. 👍

Porta Inn Bentencho

8.8/10
Very Good

Location: Next to Bentencho station so easy access to Osaka loop line and Chuo Line for Subway and Rail. Really good location even though it's not central Osaka. The advantage is that you can still get everywhere within 10-20mins and the surrounding area is clean and safe and quiet. There is a 7-11 next door and a commercial gym (charged at 1650 per day) Negatives are there is not much to do in the evenings. But this leads to the quietness of the area and is an advantage Hotel Room: We stayed in double room and it was large. Nice comfortable bed with good pillows. The AC was modern and good and did not make noise even while we were asleep. The room is cleaned daily (tidy and new towels) with new sheets every 3 days. Shower gel, shampoo and conditioner provided. The room was also very clean. The bed has USB and chargers on either side of it. There is space to hang clothes But the room is really nice. We always were glad to come back to a very clean and tidy place. The TV has English menus but we never watched anything. Negatives are the fridge could be colder and the bathroom sink has a tiny slope on it so you cannot place product on the sink but you have a shelf above the sink for this. Very slight negatives for what is a great place to stay Hotel features: Excellent. Great laundry room with several washers & dryers. Trouser presses, vending machine and ice machine. A rooftop terrace with good views. The breakfast is free and is underwhelming, just different bread and pastries with choices of juice, soups, water and yogurt. It's acceptable and I guess it's free. The hotel lobby has little items you can take if needed, such as hair bands, toothbrushes, razor kits but something nice was that they give you bath bombs for free too. Different ones each day. Staff: Very friendly and helpful, even after midnight when I made requests they were very fast and helpful Overview: 100% would stay here again. The price-to-quality ratio and the large room size make this an easy choice. Do not worry about location, I stayed it Dontonburi area before and alothgh its close to everything, its loud, dirty and feels unsafe. But the location of Porta Inn is really good and super easy to get to central areas (around 10-20mins) and easy to get to the airport (direct line) and easy to get to Universal Studios too.

Courtyard Osaka Honmachi

This hotel offers a truly great experience, it's my favorite in the city center, and the value for money is exceptional. The rooms are a spacious 25 square meters – a huge improvement from previous stays where I've paid more for tiny rooms where I couldn't even open my suitcase! No such worries here. The room was brand new and spotless, with daily housekeeping and water refills. Just a short walk away, there's a 7-Eleven, and on the way back, you'll find plenty of restaurants like Yoshinoya, Torikizoku, and Sukiya. Plus, there's a free hot spring bath on the 2nd floor. It's really relaxing, not huge but perfectly adequate. After a long day, a soak in the tub is pure bliss. Being a Marriott property, the quality is, as expected, top-notch!

This hotel exceeded my expectations in every way! They offer free ramen from 9 PM to 10 PM, which was perfect for a late-night snack. I ended up having a different flavor of ramen for dinner every night! The onsen was fantastic for unwinding and relieving stress. Plus, the all-you-can-drink beer and soft drinks (beer, coke, cider, and sparkling juices like orange, grape, and melon) made the trip incredibly convenient. It was also great that a Family Mart was close by and I had a fantastic view of Tsutenkaku from my room, so I took lots of photos! This has been my review of Hot Spring Osaka Hinode Hotel. Thank you! ❤️❤️❤️

Stepping into this hotel felt like going back in time to The Great Gatsby. It's probably the most luxurious hotel I've stayed at in Osaka. They really made good use of the public spaces, and the Peacock Alley is simply stunning – I could admire it all day. The front desk staff spoke fluent English, which made communication quite easy. Contrary to what I read online, the standard room was perfectly fine. I was given a high floor, and the room was spacious, well-divided, with plenty of space for luggage. The twin room had two queen-sized beds (1.5 meters each), making it very family-friendly. The downsides were the low water pressure in the bathroom and the water not getting hot enough. They provided Aesop amenities, and the ginger scent was lovely. The breakfast was a bit disappointing. It was semi-buffet style with limited variety, and the main courses were quite uninspired, not really matching the room rate. I do recommend the French toast among the main dishes, it was excellent. The biggest issue was the long queues, which really detracted from the experience. The hotel's location is quite good. Directly downstairs is Green Place with a wide variety of dining options, and Ushigoro is on the third floor. You can walk to department stores like Hanshin, but taking a taxi is more convenient for Hankyu.
