Stayed in Room 201, Level 2 King Bed. Avoid this room.
The bathroom isn't practical - you have to step into the bathtub to shower. AC takes 2+ hours to cool the room. Furniture is old and the wardrobe door slams loudly.
Worst part: It's right across from the staff engineering room. Lots of noise from staff going in and out. Also found a large gecko on the wardrobe door.
Not recommended.

Came here specifically for the 'Hilton' name, haha. When traveling, it's always better to stick with brands you're familiar with. The room was decent, nothing spectacular but perfectly fine. Breakfast had a good variety of options, and there was even a server who showed you to your table. As for the location, it's right next to a famous internet-famous restaurant, but as an introvert, I didn't bother waiting in line. Guess I'll save that for my next visit, haha.

Stayed here for a few nights and had a great experience. The hotel is well designed, and staff were friendly, greeting you in the hallways when passing by. Check-in and check-out were smooth and quick. Also appreciated the good coffee in the room. Would stay again.

This is our 3rd stay at Sky Hotel. We booked a 2-bedroom suite and checked in at night, but unfortunately the room was not clean. There was dust and powder on the sofa, the floor was sticky and dusty, some flooring was chipped, and there was an unpleasant smell.
We called reception to request a room change but were told the hotel was full. Housekeeping came to check and confirmed the room condition. We took some photos and went down to the reception counter, after discussingabout 10 minutes, the reception offered us an upgrade to a bigger suite, which was clean and much better.
Appreciate the staff for resolving the issue quickly, but the room cleanliness should be improved.

Stayed at Le Méridien Kota Kinabalu recently and had a really enjoyable experience. The location is excellent — right opposite the waterfront and within walking distance to the seafood market, malls, and many food spots. The sea view from the room was amazing, especially during sunset.
The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. Breakfast spread was good with plenty of choices, and the staff were friendly and helpful throughout the stay. The pool and rooftop area were also very relaxing after a long day out.
Overall, a great hotel for both leisure and short getaway trips in Kota Kinabalu. Would definitely stay here again!

I booked the Executive Room with 2 Double Beds and access to the M Club Lounge at Kota Kinabalu Marriott Hotel. The room was very spacious with a modern urban style. I was lucky to get a room with both city and sea views, which made the stay even more enjoyable.
The breakfast selection was excellent, with a wide variety of dishes including Malay, Chinese, and Indian cuisine. There were also live stalls for fried dishes and noodle soup. The beverage choices were impressive too, including coffee, teh tarik, and various juices.
I also enjoyed the hi-tea experience at the Club Lounge on the 15th floor. The lounge offers a beautiful view, especially during sunset, which created a very relaxing atmosphere.
What made the stay even better was the friendly and helpful staff. They were very welcoming, attentive, and always ready to assist throughout my stay.
Overall, I had a wonderful experience staying at Marriott Hotel Kota Kinabalu. Thank you!

The room was really clean, I forgot to take pictures. It was quiet at night and felt very safe. There are many restaurants and convenience stores downstairs. It's very close to Gaya Street and the DBKK jetty, about a 5-minute taxi ride. Every room has a floor-to-ceiling window with direct views of the jetty and the sea, as shown in the pictures – both the daytime views and the sunset are beautiful. Kota Kinabalu is the most convenient and comfortable city I've visited so far; it's very beautiful and chill. The host was also very nice and patient in answering my questions. This is the best and most worthwhile hotel I've ever picked, the value for money is truly unbeatable!

This hotel is conveniently located with restaurants and convenience stores nearby! The room was spacious, allowing me to relax comfortably. I booked an ocean view room, so I could see the sea from the window, but it wasn't directly in front of the ocean; rather, the sea was visible beyond some buildings and a road. The breakfast buffet offered a wide variety of high-quality dishes, and I wanted to eat everything, but of course, I couldn't finish it all. I wished I had another stomach!

AAnonymous UserIf you are in the area to visit the KKIP industrial zone, the Klagen Regency is perfectly positioned. It is located quite a distance from the main town center, which may seem remote at first, but it is a strategic advantage if you want to avoid a long daily commute to your work sites.
The hotel itself is impressively well-kept. It’s clear that management prioritizes maintenance, as the rooms and common areas feel fresh and clean. The service is equally commendable; the staff are helpful and ensure a smooth, professional experience from check-in to check-out.
Sorry I does not have the photo of the room because I am there for a business meeting but the room is okay to stay. Buffet Breakfast is good, also you can find very nice local food with walking distance .
CChanger YipI chose this hotel because it's the closest to the beach with the best views, perfect for sunset watching, and indeed, the sunsets were spectacular! It's also very close to the airport. The room had a fantastic view. While the facilities felt a bit dated, it didn't detract from the overall vacation vibe. There's an ice machine on every floor, which was great for drinks. The heated pool was a nice touch, and the breakfast restaurant was huge with a wide variety of options. Because it's so large, getting from the Tanjung wing to the lobby was a bit of a walk. Also, on the fourth floor, the roof can slightly obstruct wide-angle photos. Overall, it offered a wonderful resort experience, and finding the hotel for Grab pickups was easy.
MM58361****I think the hotel, though a bit old, is very well-managed. The breakfast is delicious, and for the price, it offers great value for money. My stay felt clean and comfortable.
LLove CoffeeMy first stay here and I think would be my last too. Was actually requested a quiet room but still giving the room which facing the contrustion site. Noise of the construction site was up to 10pm+ and 5am+ the prayer from the nearby mosque will make you jump!
Impressive with the location but not the room. Furnitures in room quite old but still acceptable, but cleanliness and maintenance was terrible.
1) Water leaks out from shower room to walkway via the wall.
2) Old and dirty toilet with mold
3) Malfunctioning light bulb
4) Stains on the towel ( sticky like chocolate, like unwashed)
5) Ants on table & bed!
6) Loosen door lock
7) Dirty chair

RReeseDI only realized after checking in that this wasn't the ”most beautiful sunset” Shangri-La that's so famous online. This one is outside the city, but it's still a great resort. While the hotel is overall quite dated, the staff are very warm and friendly, and they have a heated pool. You can go to the mountains in the morning to see animals, but remember to book in advance due to limited spots. Most guests are Westerners and Chinese. It's not as photogenic as the other Shangri-La, but it's perfect for a relaxed, leisurely vacation.

RReeseDThis hotel is located right by the seaside, with Arabic and Indian souks (markets) just downstairs. I stayed in an apartment with a beautiful ocean view; though the space is a bit compact, it's perfect for solo travelers or couples. The facilities are brand new and clean, and the staff is professional.
Cons:
1. Check-in time is at 3:00 PM, so plan accordingly.
2. Since it’s located above a market, there are loud loudspeaker noises at 5:00 AM, which can disrupt your sleep.
这个酒店在海滨边上,楼下是阿拉伯和印度集市。
我住的房子可以看到海,很漂亮的。房子是公寓,有点小。适合一个人或者情侣入住。
整体设施很新,干净,服务人员专业。
不好的点;
1. 入住时间是3点,注意时间。
2. 由于楼下是集市,凌晨5点会有很吵的喇叭。影响睡眠。

AAnonymous UserWe booked a renovated room, supposedly from 2 years ago, but when we arrived at 6 PM, they told us there were no rooms on the second floor, only on the first. They assured us it was the 'best room,' but as soon as we entered, there was a strong musty smell, and the hairdryer sounded like it was about to explode. After watching the sunset and having dinner, we returned to find the room getting hotter and hotter. We then realized the air conditioning was broken. It took three calls to finally get through to the front desk. The maintenance worker spent half an hour trying to fix it with no progress, and then told us we'd have to switch rooms. During all this, the room was incredibly stuffy and hot, almost unbearable. The front desk kept apologizing but only offered an extended checkout or a ride to the city the next day, and we had to decide on the spot what time we wanted to leave. This 'sorry' attitude was really disappointing and quite unbelievable.
The funniest part was that the room they moved us to was on the second floor – the very floor they said had no availability earlier. It was clean, no musty smell, and not hot at all. It makes you wonder who they were saving those rooms for, or if they were discriminating against us.
The hotel environment itself is beautiful and very photogenic, with lots of free and paid activities. Feeding the monitor lizards was fun. However, the front desk's attitude and their handling of issues were consistently poor. Exercise caution if you decide to stay here.
Also, we heard the hotel restaurants aren't great. We ate at the sunset bar, which was enough to fill us up, but you can't order takeout.
