Cheolwon Hyesung Pension

I found the accommodation to participate in the Cheolwon DMZ Marathon, but the location was better than I thought. There is a Milky Way Bridge across the hostel, so it's good to see I'm close to a seat.
Cheorwon Kerensia Pension

It was a friendly and clean home atmosphere. Unfortunately, it was an old building, so the floor on the upper floor was creaking, and all the single window sills had a bad wind. Six people enter the room, but there is one bathroom and it is a room, so I had to line up to change clothes. The Hantan River stem view from the window in the morning was good
Hantan River Spa Hotel

The most recent one here on TA is apparently from November 2017, so I'd like to add a kind of update. My wife and I stayed in a ”Deluxe Double” room, during a weekend staycation with her side of the family in early April. I'm with all the top tiers of IHG, Marriott, and Hilton, and I can say that this place is still quite good for what it is, or at least 'decent'. The overall look and feel are both a bit dated. The hotel looks like it may be better located in the 1980's or maybe 1990's. However, the hotel is very clean. :-) The cleanliness of the hotel extends into the bedrooms, which are comfortable. The walls are surprisingly able to keep out noises from adjacent rooms. Our room faced the parking lot but we didn't care. The screen door was great and there was a small balcony in case you needed fresh air. The bed itself was not very mattress-like but rather felt hard. (Nonetheless, I did have a very nice night's sleep.) The refrigerator was very cold and contained a couple free bottles of water. Coffee mix (i.e. a small packet containing both instant coffee and creamer) and tea bags were both provided in the room, with a kettle. No Nespresso machines here. The bathroom is also dated, but nice enough for a 1-2 night stay. Towels, handsoap, shampoo, and body wash were all provided. The shower booth is spacious for one, no matter your size. The toilet comes with an electronic bidet. The only disappointment was that our toilet didn't flush when we checked out, but anyways it didn't affect our 1-night stay and so it doesn't figure into the final score I'll give. There's a 7-11 just a 30-seconds-walk away from the front door, which is convenient if you want some cold simple breakfast foods instead of the Korean breakfast set served by the hotel in the mornings. We had dinner in the restaurant the night before check-out, and the food was fine. I'm American. We got the mushroom salad, the Margherita pizza, the mushroom truffle risotto, and the fried pork donkatsu, and it was all very tasty. We paid 150k KRW for our room (incl. tax) in April and I'd have no problem paying that again if I were back in this district. It's likely true that this is the best hotel in the area. 8.5/10

First of all, the boss was very friendly and the facilities inside and outside the glamping were very clean and nice. I'm going to go again next time. Highly recommended.

It was so kind and the candle was lit so well that I ate it deliciously. Next time I go to Cheolwon, I want to make a reservation!
