I have planned my trips to go back to NZ on end of March for 2 weeks. I initiated my booking on October 2022 via an online platform subsequently i emailed to hotel directly due to group bookings (some got different arrival and departure dates). All seems very smooth. Confirmation and deposit made. But 2 days ago, hotel sent an email claimed reservation clashed and would require us to check in and check out on the weekend of April 7th to 9th, they said if i am not happy with that, they can cancel without penalty. This left me less than 2 weeks to rush to look for alternatives. Very bad experience on this booking experience given the review of the hotel seems very positive. (I felt they found a group which offered higher prices so we were kicked out.). This is very unprofessional.

Great vibe, great space. A nice oasis that is close enough to walk to piha beaches but is also close enough to walk to several nice hikes inland, including one to the very pretty Kitekite falls. Big kitchen and lounge and lots of outdoor seating and eating space to take advantage of their idyllic private garden. Geoff is a laid back and unobtrusive host but he's right there if you need anything. The tips input box is far too short so I'll include my tip here: Mind if you're driving to Piha from Auckland close to sunset. There's a place about 5-10 minutes East of piha where the road heads directly towards the sun and if the sun is low in the sky, about 1/2 hour before sunset, you come around a corner and can be absolutely blinded due to the low angle of the sun. You can't see anything at all and if you're not expecting it and traveling at speed you must stop dead in your tracks to avoid straying into oncoming traffic or going off the road. And if you're going the other way at this time of day watch for this spot because oncoming traffic could easily veer into your lane with the Sun right in their eyes.

PphoebeThis house seems to have been a B&B for a long time. Everything is arranged very well. Everyday guests are in a constant stream. Breakfast is also good. The only problem is that I have two children with me to collect the cost of a child. My heart is a bit uncomfortable. Others are OK.
First off, Shareen, the owner is very kind. The house is well-kept and clean. There is some cat hair, but we weren't there long enough for it to get on our clothes and such. There is a community kitchen, which is very convenient. The continental breakfast is completely serve yourself, but Shareen does show you what's available upon check-in. We did not have a key to our room, so it was slightly odd to leave for the evening to go eat dinner and leave the room unlocked. We did not ask, as we weren't quite sure where Shareen was. There may have been a room key available, but we weren't given one. The location is lovely- perfectly distanced from Mission Bay, one of my favorite places in Auckland. Another quirk is that shoes need to be removed upon entrance, which is totally fine since it's her house. But it's inconvenient when you're walking up and down stairs and outside to unload and load luggage. Otherwise, it's no big deal.
KKiki夏雪斐Very nice place, the room was clean, comfortable and very warm, the host ROB was very nice, we stayed at the end of the day, he has been waiting for us and arranged for us, it is a beautiful place, the location is also good, pleasant Check-in experience
GGuest UserThis is a lovely lodge with great character. It's a great place to stay if you have a blended family and can't fit in a typical motel room, as the rooms are accessesed internally inside the main building. The hosts are wonderful, Michelle the Manager was so helpful and really worked with me to find a solution for some very last minute accoommodation we booked. Some rooms have their own kitchens, others share internal kitched and lounge facilities, which are are gorgeous, spacious and well looked after. There is a pool, spa and BBQ area. This location is a very convenient location to so many nearby tourist spots. There are great restaurants and shops in Warkworth, and the town has a lot of history and is beautiful by the river.
CCarmkolWe were almost put off when we arrived to check in. It was the WORST check in experience I’ve ever had. I was made to feel as if I was putting the person (Nick?) out. There was No welcome, No smile and the registration form was thrown across the counter at me. When I asked for a room on the ground floor I was made to feel as if it was a Huge inconvenience. However our room was lovely and the bed was super comfortable. After our checkin experience we looked for somewhere else to eat, however nothing elsewhere appealed and we returned to the hotel to check out the menu. Thankfully more Welcoming staff had come on to work and they were great.
PpuppyschoolThere are often no staff in the office, so if you are not there, you will have to make a mobile phone at the door. The room is not large, but it has the worst ones. It was good that the bathroom was large. Speaking of which, is there a place where the towels are stiff and the light bulbs in the room are out? After that, the internet was slow and the time 々 was interrupted. The heated pool in the room was wider than I expected, so I was able to enjoy it slowly. This is recommended for people if you care about the details. There is a supermarket right next to it, and the parking lot can be stayed by the room, so I think it is good for families.
GGuest UserWarning!!!! Rooms have NO washrooms! One public Washroom for men and women. Walls are thin an noise travels, so it is noisy at night. Area of town has lots of loud cars and street action. On the good side, everything was very clean and well kept. Very nice people run the lodge.
I found this hotel on *********** under the name of Albert Accommodation but it turned out to be named Bliss Accommodation. I chose to pay a bit more, NZ$106, for a Deluxe Queen room with a kitchenette. On arrival there is no reception but a person in the laundry hub pointed out a paper note on the Bliss Accommodation door giving a pen scrawled mobile phone number to phone. This resulted in a request to go back up the driveway to the adjoining cafe/bar. There I had to wait 10 minutes until someone arrived to photo my ID [driving licence] and take my money [Surcharge for using a credit card]. Back down the drive and using an entry card I was in. No lift and 3 flights of steps to my room. Into the room. The kitchenette was a kettle, crockery, cutlery, a tea towel, tea, coffee and sugar and a fridge. No microwave as seen on the photo and no milk, no dish wash liquid. The room ws clean though the whole hotel had an aroma of perfume/incense which I found mildly unpleasant. The bed was very comfortable and the linen very clean. the off switch to turn off the light from the bed was a very long stretch but saved walking back to the light switch at the entry door. I slept well that night. Good TV and air heat pump heater/AC which I did not have to use. Clean towels in the small bathroom, toilet paper incredibly thin. Nice shower cubicle but after initially setting the temperature there was a fluctuation from scalding hot to cold - surely a safety hazard. Next morning I needed to hand back the entry cards. Back to the Cafe/bar up the drive. I was told to go to the Indian pastry/sweet shop where I handed in the cards after a long wait on customers buying pastries. It was OK for 1 night at a reasonable price but I would not return.
