Clarion Hotel the Colony - Plano West

Yes, the room is large, clean enough, noisy, and sleeps very well. Western breakfast is almost the same, eat a few more fried eggs. In addition to the city center, wherever the distance is far away, you can park, but charge.

This Hyatt Place Hotel went above and beyond the normal overnight stay. It is clean, beautiful, and comfortable. The staff were so accommodating and helpful, in every department - check-in, breakfast, and the house keeping team. I HIGHLY recommend this hotel.

This is clearly where locals go to party. While it's clear that the place has been recently remodeled, it's still just trashy as heck. On our first night there we were woken up at 12:45am when our neighbors decided it was time to start blasting some music. I went over to ask them to knock it off... which they did for exactly five minutes. I complained to the front desk but the sole desk attendant was too busy checking people in to do anything about it. We gave up and packed our belongings to head to a different hotel - but we were talked into switching rooms and I was too tired to argue. Apparently the noisy guest was allowed to continue his party as I saw him glaring at me the next day. New room was indeed quieter - but I immediately regretted my decision when we passed a used dirty diaper that someone had thrown out of their room and into the hallway. The breakfast was disgusting, and there was trash everywhere. The stairwells smelled strongly of pot - and the same Whataburger cup was sitting on the railing the entire time we were there. Never again!

Almost our entire baseball team stayed at this hotel for our tournament a couple of weeks ago, and it was a great stay according to everyone, even the most picky (me). We travel often and stay in hotels often, and you just never know! Ample space, clean hotel and rooms, friendly front desk staff. Plenty of towels, nice amenities and a great breakfast that stayed on later than most hotels. I think it was until 9, and it was unique both mornings I went down. The only complaint I have is that the vanity is open to the bedroom, if that makes sense, so when I got up early to get ready the light bothered others that wanted to sleep in. It was easy to overlook since everything else was perfect. It's rare! Lots of places to eat nearby. Highly recommend.

Best front desk staff ever! Interactive with mu kids. Remembering why we were there and checking on how things were going. Gracious with other guests. We spent a lot of time in lobby hanging out with friends and saw first hand how great they were. Shout out Divy, Troy, and West! Very clean facility. Would totally recommend this hotel with no complaints. However if you’re claustrophobic, I would not choose the 1 kind bed room you’re gonna need more space.
Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Dallas Plano/The Colony

I booked a room through a Travelocity at Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Dallas Plano/The Colony on Saturday May 18, 2024. When I arrived at the hotel, I checked in with the front desk rep Jennifer. I said to her “every time I check into a hotel my room is always by the elevator”. Jennifer stated yeah that is because you booked with a third party and we do not like third parties. I looked up at her and said I do not always use a third party to book my hotel rooms. Can you please make sure I am not next to the elevator. Jennifer stated your room is not next to the elevator and if it is come back down to the front desk and I will move you. I was in a rush to get to my family and friends so I did not have time to go back and forth with Jennifer and the way she was talking to me as if because I am getting the room and a cheaper rate I should accept whatever room I get. When I got off the elevator, I immediately notice my room was in fact next to the elevator. Again I was too busy and didn’t want to be labeled as the angry black woman that booked on a third party app, because I can’t afford the rate without going through a third party. The next day when I checked out of the room, I explained to Alisha at the front desk what happen. She apologized for Jennifer’s behavior. Alisha stated that it should not matter how the guest booked their rooms. If we request not to be put in a room they can look in the computer to ensure that they are not in a room near the elevator or etc. if the rooms are available. I always stay at a Marriott hotel branch but after this experience. I need to look in to other options if I am going to be treated a certain way if I book through a third party. It should not be offered if the guest are going to be treated different. I hope that I do not have to deal with this ever again and if that is the true case. Marriott should look into other options to book their rooms to the public.
