This hotel is located right in the city center, offering excellent transportation links. It's very close to attractions like He Garden, Ge Garden, Dongguan Street, Pishi Street, and Caiyi Street. Being near Maopailou makes grabbing breakfast incredibly convenient. The rooms are clean, tidy, well-laid out, and fully equipped. The bathroom has a great wet/dry separation and no unpleasant smells, and the AC works perfectly. The owner is super friendly and helpful, sending a detailed Yangzhou food and drink guide via WeChat. This guide is comprehensive, covering transportation, distances to attractions, and even categorizes restaurants with map locations, making it very practical. Overall, it was an excellent stay, and I highly recommend it!

The inn's location is fantastic, directly across from the Lion Grove Garden, and very close to the Humble Administrator's Garden and Suzhou Museum, making sightseeing incredibly convenient! I had originally booked the smallest room in the inn. When I arrived, I asked the owner if a free upgrade was possible, as many guests had mentioned being upgraded. Without a second thought, the owner immediately upgraded me to the largest room—the service was truly exceptional! The room decor was beautiful, especially the large bed, which perfectly embodies classical Chinese aesthetics. There was also a tatami tea table and a small arhat bed. The front desk even provides a sewing kit for mending clothes, all of which speaks volumes about the owner's excellent service. I'm definitely planning to stay here again on my next trip to Suzhou.

Perfect location, lovely hosts, beautiful room with vintage furniture and super soft blanket! Very authentic. During the day time it’s super loud because of the amount of tourists, but staying in this place gives you unique opportunity to explain the town in the very early morning or very late evening (the lights switch off at 23:00).
The room can seem small, but it’s old town, it can’t be different:)
Unfortunately there was no tea provided, that’s sad for tea-famous country, maybe should be improved. Other than that – my stay was amazing☺️

Facilities: Fully equipped and a great location, very close to the parking lot!
Cleanliness: Very clean, small but exquisite!
Environment: The environment is beautiful. The two rooms on the second floor have floor-to-ceiling windows, offering a very pleasant view of the pond!
Service: Both the manager and staff are very responsible. There's also a small coffee shop with a very cozy atmosphere, reminiscent of Japan's Showa era. The manager is truly outstanding, with elegant demeanor and conversation. It was my first time staying in Tongli, and I experienced five-star service!
I brought my Japanese friends here, and they also gave it high praise! Highly recommended!

I booked this B&B for Xu Liang's Suzhou concert, and although it wasn't cheap, it was worth it. The environment and facilities were good, exactly as pictured. The location is excellent, very close to Changmen City Wall, and right next to Shantang Street for strolling (though I find Shantang Street less interesting than Pingjiang Road, but both are commercial ancient streets overall). I initially thought it would be noisy near Changmen Street, but it was actually very quiet at night, making for a comfortable sleep 💤. The owner offers personalized service through a private WeChat group, providing recommended travel routes and restaurants. The only minor downsides were that I thought the river view outside the window would be charming, but the water sometimes had a slight odor (closing the window helped), and the river nearby was under renovation, which was a bit of an eyesore. However, when sitting by the window, you can't really see that area anyway.

Location:
At first, I thought the navigation was wrong, but it turns out that both the Sandi Hotel and the Tribal Hotel use the same front desk for check-in, just different actual accommodations. If you can't book a West Zone treehouse, don't worry – the Mushroom House is very close to the West Zone treehouses. Aside from not being able to feed giraffes directly from your room, everything else is within walking distance.
Amenities:
All the rooms at the Tribal Hotel are very unique. This time, I booked the Mushroom House, which has three rooms on the first floor. A delightful surprise was finding a 3-in-1 charging cable in the TV cabinet, which was very handy in a pinch. The bathroom has a child-friendly toilet seat and a step stool. The round bed is specifically designed for children, so its overall height is much lower. Very thoughtful.
Breakfast:
Absolutely delightful, this is one of the few parent-child hotels in the Jiangsu, Zhejiang, and Shanghai area that genuinely considers children's dietary needs. There's steamed egg with shrimp, unseasoned so you can add soy sauce yourself; sugar-free yogurt for younger children; and even fresh boiled shrimp.
However, due to the overall room layout, the brightness is insufficient, and the windows are very small. The air conditioning is very strong, though. If you prioritize natural light, the Mushroom House might not be the best choice.

The biggest surprise of our Tongli trip was definitely this duplex room we booked! The two-story layout was fantastic, offering both spaciousness and a layered feel. The decor was exquisite yet cozy, and the cleanliness was impeccable, making for an exceptionally comfortable stay. The facilities were incredibly complete; everything we needed was provided, with thoughtful touches evident in every detail. We didn't have to worry about bringing any extra items. But the absolute best part was the view – opening the window revealed the beautiful scenery of Jiangnan's small bridges, flowing water, and local houses. We enjoyed the river view by day and the city lights by night; every photo we took looked stunning. Just sitting back and enjoying the scenery was incredibly relaxing. It's perfect for both couples on vacation and friends traveling together. The owner was super enthusiastic, offering tips for exploring the ancient town and helping with luggage. I've already recommended it to everyone I know, and I'll definitely choose this place again next time!

The entire public area and the corners of the room are cleaned spotlessly, the tabletop is not dusty, the bathroom is also polished brightly without water stains. You can walk to the large shopping malls in the core business district in seven or eight minutes. There are all kinds of trendy brand shops, specialty food shops, cultural and creative markets. It’s fun to go shopping enough to kill most of the time. The professional screening equipment in the room can be used directly by looking for the front desk to register and authorize in advance. The picture is clear and the sound effect is smooth, and the viewing experience is particularly good.

The hotel is conveniently located near Dongguan Street, right next to Ge Garden, making it easy to access transport and local amenities. The rooms are housed in a two-story wooden building, encircling a charming courtyard with a miniature rock garden. While the rooms themselves are clean, the bathroom is a bit on the small side. The service was incredibly thoughtful; staff even helped us with laundry. The owner was exceptionally hospitable and warm; he not only used an electric cart to assist with our luggage but also gave us a ride to a nearby place for a local morning tea. We noticed the diamond-patterned door didn't block out much light, but when we mentioned it to the owner, he immediately took care of it. He also generously shared recommendations for many authentic Yangzhou restaurants favored by locals, helping us avoid any tourist traps.

The B&B's location is fantastic, within walking distance of Dongguan Street and Pishi Street. We passed by numerous national, provincial, and city-level protected historical sites, and the B&B itself is one of them – what a privilege to stay in a salt commissioner's former residence! Despite being in a bustling area, the hotel itself is quite peaceful, free from tourist noise. The small courtyard is lovely, perfect for a large family outing, where you can book two rooms and share a private courtyard. Breakfast is served at a neighboring partner restaurant with beautiful garden scenery, though it was a bit crowded during the Qingming Festival. The B&B's service was impeccable; they provided a special children's toiletries kit, and we even received Yangzhou University yogurt upon check-in. Every staff member was incredibly friendly, and they even helped us pack items we'd forgotten when we checked out.

SStanley The Travel ManI arrived in pouring rain. I thought I could walk to my hotel but it was impossible in the downpour. I didn’t want to bother any hotel owner. I didn’t and still don’t have an eSIM that can make local call but thanks to Trip.com, there is a link that I could call the owner for free. I didn’t advise the owners my arrival time so they were off running errands. I called the owner to pick me up and thankfully he answered. He was busy but gracious enough to turn around and picked me up. It knew Zhouhuang requires a ticket but I didn’t know that no cars, nor motorcycles, nor bicycles are allowed. Without him I would have arrived the hotel easily.
I always like to meet the owners instead of employees . They were very helpful and answered all my questions. They are honest people who dedicate their blood and sweat to their business. The owner even offered to walk me to the bus stop to Suzhou which was my next destination.
This operates two hotels with 9 in one and 6 in the other. The one that I stayed in with 9 rooms is in a lively and busy area . Just outside the hotel is a restaurant and there are plenty of places to eat. Inside the hotel is a peaceful oasis where you won’t hear any noise. The location is the best. The other hotel is in a quieter neighborhood a few minutes away. Each of the 15 rooms has it’s own personality, is different and has its distinctive decoration. The owners said they decorated them themselves. I love the decoration and especially the lighting.
After you reserve a room, be sure to contact the owner for the exact address in case you want to arrive on your own. I think it is best to request the owner to take you there because he/she will lead you to the ticket booth to buy tickets. There are a number of bridges so heavy big luggages can be a bit of a challenge . If you arrive after 5 pm, you can enter free of charge as no one is there to check your ticket. . But once you are inside, and if you choose to leave the area after 8 or 9 am until 5 pm, you have to pay to come back in. You can buy a one day or in my case 3 days pass. Do check with the owner for up to date information.
The room was quite clean. There were hot water all the time. There were other guests during my stay but they were not noisy at all. I barely heard them. I slept very well during my 3 nights there.
Zhouhuang is really beautiful. There are many canals, bridges, boat rides, good food of all kinds. I had some of the best meals there. In fact , I ate in the same restaurant that serves dumpling twice. One night I had grill (BBQ) meat just outside the entrance for 4 yuans. . There is decent size supermarket just outside the turnstile and not too far away is a much bigger supermarket. It was there where I bought half a Peking duck for only 32 yuans . The seller sliced the meat and separated the meat from the bones. The bones he fried so it was crunchy. It was delicious. There is a theater that offers performances.
The night view is great. If you step out your room, you will be overwhelmed in a good sense by the exciting surroundings.
This hotel definitely is one of the best that I have ever stayed in. Look at the beautiful pictures and find one that you like.
I stayed only 3 nights and one of those days I went to Tongli. In my opinion, one should spend at least 2 to 3 full days in Zhouhuang (and especially this hotel ) savor the ambience. I don’t think Tongli is worth the time because it was twice as expensive and there are not that many canals and boat rides. It is much quieter and has fewer things to see. . The worst is that the sightseeing places require you to show your ticket. After 2 places, I lost mine ticket and I couldn’t get in the rest of the places. It is unnecessary to require proof of entrance because you can’t enter the area without a ticket.
GGuest UserGreat location, easy to get around
it’s walking distance to the best food street ,all well known Nanjing cuisine can be found here

Light Chinese breakfast served is good enough to start a day and not too much for the delicious Nanjing lunch later on:-)

WWorld wonders 探险者Nestled in the heart of a picturesque landmark, this guesthouse offers stunning views of Pingjiang Road at night. There's a cat café right across the street, which is a lovely touch. The breakfast spread is generous, and you can even do your laundry for free. The staff are incredibly warm and welcoming, making this a fantastic choice for your stay.

HHalf Gwailo ABCOverall an enjoyable and relaxing one night stay at this tiny cosy hotel in Zhouzhuang, for our final leg of our 6 days Suzhou trip. We took a didi over to Zhouzhuang, which was faster and cheaper than I expected, just a little over half an hour.
The hotel staff called me the day before to arrange for pick-up near the watertown ticket office. Actually I can't speak Mandarin and their English wasn't too good but we ended up chatting on Wechat as Wechat has a built-in translate function in their chat.
So, 15 minutes before we arrive, we just had to let them know on Wechat. And the staff is already waiting for us, helped us with the luggage and guided us through the ticket buying process.
You do have to pay for the ¥100 RMB ticket to get into the watertown and the ticket is good for 3 days. The hotel is about a 10 minute walk from the entrance.
I picked this hotel because it was right inside the watertown and it had the ancient Chinese interior, although all the amenities are modern, including a robust and high-tech Kohler smart toilets in each bathroom.
There is a nice coffee shop inside the hotel and the coffee shop owner is friendly and takes his coffee craft seriously. The hotel gives you 2 free drinks during your stay and the coffee menu is quite extensive. If the hotel rooms are not booked on that day, we are told the hotel opens their doors to coffee customers.
The hotel owner is actually younger than I expected so I am impressed she meticulously created this authentic experience and the attention to detail. She was friendly and helpful and was open to accommodating our needs.
We booked the entire 2nd floor, which was 3 bedrooms and we had 6 adults in our group. This tiny hotel only has 3 bedrooms so if you booked all 3 rooms, you pretty much get the entire hotel to yourselves which include the first floor which is spacious and comfy.
When I visit Zhouzhuang again, I am looking forward to stay here again. It's certainly not cheap, but you do get what you pay for - which is people passionate about hospitality (in a Chinese way) and also a hygiene and staying experience that is certainly up to international standards.
JJinKeunThe staff were friendly and helpful. However, due to the nature of Chinese walls, the paint on the ceiling was peeling, which needs to be addressed.
GGuest UserThis guesthouse has a charming, antique feel. The location is fantastic, just a short walk from the Humble Administrator's Garden and Suzhou Museum, with plenty of great food options nearby. The owner is very artistic and thoughtful; they contacted me in advance and proactively shared travel and dining tips. After a tiring day of sightseeing, the owner's father even made me coffee. I was very satisfied with my two-night stay, definitely a five-star rating!

LLuanjingDue to some unforeseen circumstances, I had an extra day in Nanjing. I wanted to stay somewhere close to Nanjing South Railway Station and stumbled upon this guesthouse. Upon entering the room, I was pleasantly surprised. It's designed like a one-bedroom apartment, very spacious, and decorated in a warm and elegant style. They even provided scriptures and Yuhua tea for a tasting. You could easily spend a comfortable day just relaxing in the room, enjoying the sun, practicing calligraphy, and sipping tea without even going out. The bathroom amenities were also very comprehensive, and they even offered disposable towels. The floor-to-ceiling windows offered city views, and I could even see the South Station from my room, which was within walking distance. There's also a commercial area nearby, making dining very convenient, and you can even do some shopping afterward. Later, I checked on my phone and realized it's also very convenient to get to popular Nanjing attractions like Fuzi Temple, Laomendong, and Niushou Mountain. I regretted not staying here earlier, as the soundproofing near the attractions I stayed at before was poor, and I didn't get good rest. My family and I commented multiple times that we wished we had booked this guesthouse from the very first day. I will definitely prioritize staying here again on my next trip to Nanjing.

EeeningHad a really enjoyable stay at Mulan Huayue Hotel during our visit to Zhouzhuang Ancient Town.
The service was exceptional from start to finis. When we arrived, the staff came to pick us up from the admission gate and helped carry our luggage to the hotel, which was especially helpful since the old town streets can be a bit tricky with bags.
We arrived before check-in time, and since the rooms were ready, the owner let us look at the available rooms and choose the one we preferred based on the view. It was a small gesture, but it made us feel very welcome.
The location is also excellent. Since the hotel is located inside the ancient town itself, we could simply step outside and start exploring the canals, bridges, and old streets without needing any additional transport. It was especially nice to wander around early in the morning and at night when there were fewer crowds.
The hotel also has two super cute cats that were always hanging around and made the place feel even more homely.
We tried the hotel's restaurant and were impressed by the food. Our favorite dish was the 酸菜肉丝炒芦苇根, which was delicious and something we hadn't tried before. The food was slightly on the salty side for our taste, but overall we enjoyed everything we ordered.
When it was time to head to our next hotel in Suzhou, the owner helped arrange a car for us (150 RMB). The driver was very knowledgeable and shared lots of interesting information along the way, which made the journey much more enjoyable.
Another thing I appreciated was how attentive the owner was. When we ran out of drinking water, she personally brought three more bottles to our room without us having to ask multiple times.
Overall, this was one of those places where you can really feel the warmth and hospitality of the owner. It made our stay in Zhouzhuang much more memorable, and I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.
