We spent 3 nights in this small hotel. The rooms are correct, clean but very spacious. The staff is very nice and despite the language barrier, try to satisfy us as best as possible. We have to order the evening if we want eggs. Otherwise we are a group of 12 people, the only on the hotel, and a certain lack of organisation despite the good will of the hotel. The hotel is very comfortable and very comfortable. The hotel is located along a street, so a little noise but the location is interesting for walking, visiting etc.. correct stay
Thongbay Guesthouse

My 4 night stay at ThongBay Guest House in January 2020 was one of the highlights of my trip to SE Asia. It was a surprise to find such lush gardens and tranquil setting so close to the main tourist area of the city. The breakfast (most especially the mango pancakes) was outstanding and the shuttle to and from the town center were especially appreciated. The staff went out of their way to be helpful and courteous. Thank you for the yellow and orange good blessings bracelet! I highly recommend staying at ThongBay, you will not be disappointed.

After asking around in the past, I found that room rates in Luang Prabang are generally on the expensive side (compared to local prices). Although this hotel is not worth RMB 300 in China, considering the local conditions in Laos, it is considered to be in good condition, clean and tidy, with complete facilities (air conditioning). Be sure to remember your boss’s phone number or add him on WeChat! Because it is a B&B, there is no one at the front desk at night, so you have to contact the owner directly.

After seeing the reviews of this hotel on Xiaohongshu, I decisively booked this hotel, and it certainly lived up to my expectations. You feel at home and at home! On the day we arrived, the boss told us that he had a washing machine, free laundry, a drying platform to dry clothes, and a kitchen for cooking. He also introduced us to the morning market, night market and the time to participate in alms. In short, if you have any questions, the boss will help you. The boss is Chinese, so communication is very convenient for us who are not good at foreign languages. The exchange rate at his house is higher than exchanging money at the checkpoint or on the street. He also helped us rent a car to Xiguan Waterfall and the high-speed rail station. Try to help us save money on car rental. When we go to Xiguan Haobu, we rent a business car. The car can accommodate 7 guests. One car costs 70W kip. The boss helped us make an appointment for 6 people, which costs 12W per person. We also went to Dazhou on the way. I fed the elephants in the Elephant Garden, and went to the internet-famous Rice Field Coffee on the way back from Xiguan Waterfall. The location of his house is great. It's 1 to 2 minutes' walk from the river and 3 minutes' walk to participate in almsgiving. Get on a 40,000 kip minibus from the station, and the driver will drop you off at the roadside in front of his house. Don’t worry about not being able to find the hotel you booked when you go to Luang Prabang for the first time. The four of us are independent travelers who are all over 70 years old and are not good at foreign languages. It is very convenient to stay in his hotel in Luang Prabang. It is especially recommended for people who are not good at foreign languages and want to travel independently.

Great location right in the UNESCO heritage peninsula. Close to the night market, temples and most attractions you’ll want to see in Luang Prabang. This heritage house is well maintained and fully restored with modern amenities. Rooms are very clean, bed and linens are very comfortable, and overall there is a pleasant atmosphere . Nice view in the morning of the Mekong river from the dining area. Staff is friendly and helpful but still a bit junior and could use a bit more experience. Free access to two other hotels with swimming pool. Great place!

What a find! Away from the main street although easily walkable to the night market and bars and restaurants. Carefully prepared breakfasts which we both enjoyed. Rooms are large and individually decorated, cleaned daily. Really loved the beautiful decor. Service was excellent. Any query was answered fully and suggestions for activities and restaurants given if and when required. There was a lovely pool area with beds and chairs too. All in all I would thoroughly recommend this boutique hotel for families or couples.

Had a wonderful stay here -- it's a small, family run B&B-style hotel within easy walking distance from town. The rooms are comfortable and nicely decorated, although for a view you need to stay upstairs (downstairs rooms are a bit dark). Highlights included the friendly staff, amazing breakfast (which is included), free water (which was very helpful given the hot weather at this time of year) and efficient laundry service. They also kindly stored a bag of mine for two nights while I was out trekking on a tour. Would certainly stay again, it's a great deal for a wonderful hotel!
Soutikone 1 Guesthouse

The guest house is well located a block back from the river and a few blocks from the night market (less than 10 mins walk). It’s in a quiet back street so no traffic noise. It’s all dark wood so a little squeaky as you move around and there is some noise from neighbouring rooms. The room was small with a balcony alongside your neighbours, that can be a downside if like us your neighbours have 4 little kids. All was very clean and the hot water worked ok. There’s a nice communal balcony with free coffee and use of a fridge. We slept okay but the mattress was quite uncomfortable. In the morning you can hear drumming from a nearby monastery at first light and also Alan starts shouting about 4am. Who’s Alan? He’s the talking cat. Very amusing during the day, but less so in the middle of the night! We stayed 4 nights and were happy enough but I felt it was a little expensive by Laos standards. We paid £23 per night and I’d say a fiver less would be more appropriate.
Liberty Place

We have just spent 4 fantastic nights at Liberty Place. The owners are so so lovely and friendly, they can’t do enough for you. The rooms are lovely and spacious. We had our breakfast on the balcony outside which was nicely set out and decorated. The location is great right in the centre of Luang Prabang, near to the night markets and not far from the Mekong River. We did not use the bicycles however they are free to use and we used their laundry service which was done very quickly. They helped us with a situation one of our friends were in and helped book a tuk tuk when they were lost near the waterfalls without any transport. They went above and beyond to help get our friends back to their hostel when they had no way of getting back! We booked our train tickets to Vang Vieng through the guesthouse. Great price and extremely helpful. There were also other tickets, tours and trips that could also be booked as well. We would highly recommend Liberty Place for anyone travelling to Luang Prabang and we would certainly stay again.
WO WO INN Private Hotel
3.6/54 Reviews
The room was okay, quite big, and barely clean! The front desk can communicate in Chinese and is run by a Chinese. It mainly takes in Chinese tour groups! The B&B is quite far from the old town, just on the roadside. It is very noisy, especially when large-displacement motorcycles pass by, as if they are driving on my head. It is impossible to sleep. There are still cars passing by at 3 o'clock in the evening! There was no hot water in the room on the first day, so I couldn't take a shower! The next day I changed to a room closer to the inside. The noise was reduced by 70%. It was still quite noisy. There was hot water, but the air conditioner was noisy again, and the mattress was deformed and made it difficult to sleep on. The price was not worth it!
