Posted on Jul 29, 2025|Goddess Dormitory - 4 to 6 Occupancy (Per Person Room Rate)
Eduarda Carvalho[Parks info below] I'm glad that I checked out this hostel, good value for money. Room was nice and tidy, lots of electricity sources in bed and common area, curtains, hot shower. I shared the 6 beds dorm with just another girl, and you make your own bed. No toilet paper, no free water refill, no light in bed. It's worth the price. If you extend your stay directly in the hostel it's cheaper than the app.
The reception area is more cramped but you can socialize there. Most of the people are Chinese but I also met some foreigners. The guy in the reception speaks English and can give you information, in addition to that I recommend you to do your own research. There are two baby cats playing around, and an adult one.
You can get to the hostel from the west railway station by bus line 17 for 2 yuan - last bus at 8:40pm + 15 minutes walk. Location is close to the main avenue where there's a lot of restaurants, and a 24-hour convenience store close to the corner with this same avenue. There are two night markets in the city, one on the avenue like 10 min distance walking to downtown direction, more local, and another one on the street in front of the tianmen mountain cable car, more touristy. The hostel is 15 minutes walking to the central bus station where you can get the bus to zhangjiajie park and 15-20 to the tianmen mountain cable car station.
[ATTRACTIONS] Zhangjiajie (avatar), tianmen (heaven's gate) and canyon (glass bridge) are 3 different parks in different locations.
The entrance to zhangjiajie gives you access for 4 days. I went the 4 days and enjoyed it very properly. If you're short on time, 2 days will do, but plan it wisely based on your priorities. Gates are 1 hour trip distance from the central bus station - 1h30 at weekends. Also, note that before entering the park with passport and face scan, you need to do an APPOINTMENT for that hour. You usually do it there at the gate, but for a saturday all appointments for that hour were sold out in advance and I had to wait for 45 minutes to go in. Recommended to check in advance especially on weekends.
There are 2 types of tickets you can get: including all cable cars and elevator for unlimited time for 450 yuan; or just the entrance (including only free shuttles) for 215 yuan - you still have the option of buying each transport at the park (75 yuan cablecar one-way, 65 elevator one-way). At first, I had understood that to see the avatar mountains, the ONLY way was through the elevator, so I bought the all-inclusive. Turns out you CAN go by free shuttle + hike + free shuttle if you start in the east gate. My favorite part was the huangshi village.
For tianmen, the entrance is 260 yuan. Choose the route in advance because some sell out fast. Gold advice: go at least one hour or more BEFORE the hour that you have the tickets for. The hour of your ticket just matters before the very last point before boarding the cable car. The line was MASSIVE and it took me 2h30 waiting on a Monday - ended up getting in 2 hours late than my ticket time and couldn't finish the whole loop: took only the red trail and went down to the heaven's gate.
About the Canyon, I can't say much because I decided to skip it and save the 210 yuan ticket - note that this price DOESN'T include the activities, you must pay separately. The package that includes almost* everything is 360 yuan.
Last but not least, if you go to the 72 Wonders, there's also an entrance of 88 yuan. You can go/come back with the bus 17 - same line that serves to the west railway station, last bus 8:40pm.

xamangelesI had a wonderful stay at this hostel in Wulingyuan. The location is excellent—just a short distance from the entrance to Zhangjiajie National Forest Park, with plenty of restaurants and convenience stores nearby. The staff were incredibly welcoming, friendly, and always happy to help with directions and local tips.
The room was clean, comfortable, and quiet after a long day of hiking. The common areas were cozy, and the atmosphere was relaxed, making it easy to meet other travelers. It offered great value for money, and everything I needed for a comfortable stay.
I would definitely recommend this hostel to anyone visiting Wulingyuan and would happily stay here again.

The location is perfect, around the corner from the bus station, 200 mts from the bridge and main attractions and 1.2 km from East Gate. Plenty of restaurants and shops next to the hostel. Beds are huge and very comfortable, clean linen and lovely duvet. The room was big, as was the bathroom. They provide disposable towels. Shampoo and shower gel are included. The reason that I don't give an excellent in installation is because even when you have lockers, they don't work, so no place to put your valuables and also the bathroom lock is broken so you can't lock it.
They provide drinking water and there's a fridge too.
Minor details to be honest, definitely the perfect place to stay in Wulingyuan.

Guest UserI had a wonderful stay at this hotel and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Zhangjiajie.
The room was very clean, comfortable, and spacious. There was no cigarette smell at all, and the room was quiet with no disturbing noise, which made it easy to relax and sleep well. The hotel also has an elevator, making it very convenient for guests.
The location is excellent — very close to Zhangjiajie National Forest Park. There are many restaurants right in front of the hotel, making it easy to find food and local specialties.
What impressed me the most was the hotel staff. Every staff member was lovely, friendly, and extremely helpful throughout my stay. Their hospitality made my trip even more enjoyable.
The room was fully equipped with everything I needed, including complimentary drinking water, toothbrushes, toothpaste, shower gel, shampoo, bath towels, and slippers. The room size was perfect and provided plenty of space to relax after a day of sightseeing.
Another great feature was the high -speed internet. The WiFi connection was fast, stable, and reliable throughout my stay, which was very convenient for planning trips, staying connected, and streaming content without any issues.
Overall, I was extremely satisfied with my stay. If I visit Zhangjiajie again in the future, I will definitely choose to stay at this hotel again.

oknedianThis was one of the best hostels I stayed in China. The location is very convenient- a quick walk to the bus station, also very easy to reach the main attractions like Tianmen Mountain. The room was very spacious and extra clean. But the best part was the host- she was really nice, friendly, communicative and very welcoming, always ready to help, answer all the questions and give some recommendations about the area. I would highly recommend this hostel if you're travelling to Zhangjajie!

SanlopExcellent service from the owner, she's an absolute gem – very attentive, helpful, and flexible. We were treated wonderfully. Since we were the only guests (I was in a female dorm and my friend in a male dorm) and she had no reservations for today, she let us stay and check out at 4:30 PM. She handles the translator very well and is very sharp; she even gave me information with a map.
And the location is excellent! Just 20 meters from the river, right in the most central part, less than 100 meters from the covered bridge. I highly recommend it!
The breakfast included was excellent! Everything was delicious, and she even made us espresso (in an Italian moka pot).

Guest UserThis was my first time visiting Zhangjiajie National Forest Park, and I was a bit lost regarding accommodation and attractions since I'd never been before. I initially booked a Home Inn close to Tianmen Mountain, only to realize later that Tianmen Mountain is a good half-hour drive from the Forest Park. I quickly changed my tickets and hotel booking. Luckily, I found the ********* landlady here – she was incredibly enthusiastic and even helped me book tickets at a discount. As soon as I arrived, she immediately helped with my luggage and gave me a detailed itinerary for my upcoming trip, which saved me a lot of trouble. I booked a king room with a view, and the guesthouse was super easy to find, right at the intersection. If you need parking, you can tell the landlady in advance, and she'll sort everything out for you! The room was clean and tidy, the pillows were super soft, and the toiletries were standard disposables – feel free to bring your own if you prefer something different. Shampoo, conditioner, and shower gel were all provided. There's also a laundry room and a drying room, though the drying room is a bit out of the sun. If you need to dry clothes in the sun, you can ask the landlady to help move them to a sunnier spot. If you don't want the hassle, there's also a dryer in the room… I had a fantastic time these past few days. The landlady also sells local specialty berry tea; if you like it, you can buy some. If it's too much to carry, she can even arrange for it to be couriered to your home.

The location is fantastic, right next to Peiyuan Bridge Metro Station, making it super convenient for getting around! The hostel has a great atmosphere, and even as a solo traveler, it's easy to find companions. The front desk service was warm and attentive, and the environment was comfortable. My only small suggestion is to improve the cleanliness of the bedding details; this time I found a stain on the sheets. Other than that, everything was satisfactory, and I would consider staying here again!

Anonymous UserVery nice little place. Owners are friendly and helpful. There is a common area and good wifi, many floors (8+) and many different rooms. Free laundry on the balcony and drinking water, microwave and hot water available, with a food steamer as well. The location is easy to find, close to the river and the main area for the night show. Although the humidity is insane in this little town, this hostel tries to fight it with these machines that dehumidify the air. So in the dorms you will see a bit of mould, but I think all in all that can't be avoided in a humid town like this. Overal it is a nice little stay, the only improvement would be for the cleaning to be immaculate. Recommend 100% if you are a low budget backpacker!

alexislmnVery nice hotel, we loved the comfortable round bed. The bathroom was spacious and clean as well.
The location is good, very close to one of the cable car stations, so depending on which route you choose, it can be very convenient. The area is okay too, with a few restaurant options nearby.
The room itself was very large, although it also felt a bit empty. We really loved the mountain view though.
