The environment is clean, the location is convenient, and the staff are very enthusiastic and friendly. They organize groups to visit attractions every day during the day. There are free dinners in the evening, and they also take groups to bars and parties. It is a good place to meet friends!

Overall, it was great. The location was also great! The only downside was that the air conditioner was constantly making a buzzing noise, so I needed earplugs. The staff was also friendly, which was nice.

The reception staff... They were so so so kind. When I said I was from Korea, they first said hello and thank you and kindly introduced the hostel. The kitchen was big so you could cook anything and it had all kinds of spices. There were basic things like forks, knives, and pans, and there was also a microwave. There were two floors, and the room was spacious so I used a 6-person room, and each bed had a light and a place to plug in the outlet. It was prepared like a locker so you could use it, and they even prepared a locker key when you gave me the key, so I didn't really need a personal lock. The shower and bathroom were separate but outside the room, and both were clean. It seemed like they cleaned it frequently every day. They provide a free dinner every evening (Barcelona dinner time is after 9 PM) and there are events every night. If you like this kind of thing, it would be good to participate~ However, since Barcelona has such a nightlife and exciting culture, it's really noisy at night. If you're a light sleeper, it would be good to bring no-can airpods or earplugs, and if that doesn't work, look for another place to stay. I passed out and slept, so I didn't really care. We also provide free luggage storage!
Breakfast is available EUR5 from 4 am, prearranged taxi to airport is available on pre booking first come first get basis. Midnight bus n17 to the airport is at the corner of the hotel accepted by T casual mobility card. An elevator is available at the hotel, highly recommended
I arrived on a late flight and wanted something not too far from the airport. This hostel was very reasonable priced and is a few minutes walk from the Metro station.
The staff was super friendly with check in and there is a lovely terrace. The rooms have 4 bunk beds but I also noticed a double room.
Locker for your things and around bed curtains for some privacy. I slept ok and left early morning before the others in the room got up.
If you are looking for something cheap near the airport for a night this is great.
Thank you Lucy, Jack, and Emma for taking good care of me. This was one of the best hostels I’ve ever experienced. As soon as I arrived I was greeted and invited to play beach volleyball. At night we played drinking games and had a welcome party. Then we enjoyed a pub crawl where we enjoyed VIP entrance to a couple of clubs. I would definitely stay here again. I met so many people. I had the best time. The bathrooms were sooo clean. They even cooked dinner for us for free!!! The only negative is that rooms and bathrooms were a bit small.
The room was a bit small and felt cramped if there were more than 2 people, but otherwise it was very well equipped, and the staff in particular were very nice and helpful.
This hostel is disappointing overall. I thought this would be a good spot for digital nomads to socialise but it wasn’t.
The bunk bed in room 403 was completely sagged. If you have a sensitive lower back like me, you'd might end up the next morning with pain. This was the first time in a month of traveling that that happened. My second-hand IKEA couch at home feels more supportive than this bed.
The upper bunks also have no curtains or rails, so when someone turns on the light at night it shines straight into your eyes.
For work a stable connection is essential, but the Wi-Fi here was really poor.
The lockers are placed so high it’s hard to reach them if you’re short and carrying a big backpack.
Other small inconveniences: only one washing machine and one dryer, one hooks and no shelves in the shower to put your clothes, silverfish in the toilet, poor lighting at the sink (not great for makeup) and no clean bowls at breakfast. I had to eat my cereal out of a coffee mug. They also make you pay for luggage storage.
The air conditioning didn’t work in the common area (with almost no atmosphere), so I ended up sweating during my online meetings - and the Wi-Fi barely reached that space either.
I actually left at noon to work from a café instead.
The last straw was when a staff member insisted she’d given me a laundry token when she clearly hadn’t, and we had an awkward argument over it.
To be fair, the rest of the staff were kind and attentive. The breakfast team always greeted guests with a smile and the reception staff listened and even offered a small compensation after I explained my issues. I really wish I could rate it higher, but between the bad bed, weak Wi-Fi, and hot common areas, it just wasn’t a pleasant stay.
The hostel is clean and tidy even the bathroom although it's the sharing one but superb. The staff is super friendly and they are great in English so don't worry about it. And yet they had free stuff that was put on the receptionist. But if you want to travel to the centre of Barcelona, this hostel is pretty far from it. But so far it's awesome experience
The room was quite spacious and clean, with a terrace. However, as it's an eco-friendly hotel, the air conditioning automatically turns off if the terrace door is open or if no one is in the room. We booked a bunk bed room, but found that the upper bunk had no guardrail at all, which felt a bit dangerous.
The hotel is located in a residential area with no shops nearby; you have to walk a bit to find any. The staff advised against parking on the street outside the hotel due to potential risks. You can park in the hotel's paid parking lot or the free police station parking lot a short distance away.
Taking a taxi from the airport costs around 21 Euros, which is quite convenient.

GGuest UserThe hostel is not far from the subway station. The front desk is very welcoming, the rooms are large and well soundproofed, the roommates are very friendly, and you can rent bath towels at the front desk. The only drawback is that there is no shampoo or shower gel.
GGuest Usercool hostel, great location. the only thing that would be helpful is if the hostel would accept cash as well. apart from that great value for money!
ZZuleirisThey gave us a room that did not match the description on Trip. According to the girl at reception, Trip was to blame (we have never had any problems with Trip, everything has always been fine for us) and she also said that we could not be guided by the photos in the description that never matched, seriously!!!
Luckily it was only for one night because booking a room with a private bathroom and it doesn't have one: unforgivable. I can only say that it has a good location. I repeat this comment because it didn't come up before 🤔
GGuest UserThe service was very good. The front desk staff was very enthusiastic. They recommended tourist attractions and restaurants to me and cared about me as a traveler. They also had a pleasant chat with us. However, the room was very poor. There were about three rooms with 12 people sharing one bathroom and toilet. The quality of the roommates was average. The bed was very hard. There was a strange smell in the room. I didn't sleep well all night.
CcarmencThe hotel is 15 minutes walk from the Sagrada Familia. There is Metro Line 1 and public transportation nearby. It is very convenient. It is a youth hostel. There is a public kitchen and laundry.
LLonely Railway ExplorerI took a train from Malaysia to Europe, please watch my YouTube channel Lonely Railway Explorer to know more.
I stay here for 1 night transit. The price is affordable, all the accommodation in Europe are crazy high.
The room I will say cozy, and you got your private storage, and the mattress and pillow are super comfortable.
The curtain rail on your bed is for your privacy, inside your bed also got light and two power socket.
But the main door closed and hard to bell and call them, please prepare the phone number incase you stuck at outside like me.
Negative experience is the toilet, too tiny, and the water supply is a problem, you need too keep pressing the 10 sec button when you shower.
And if your room got 4 pax, so you need to waiting tour turn in the morning.
SSyed Ali Abb@s RizviOverall, a good stay with a Few Minor Issues
I stayed at Safestay Barcelona Gothic from June 17–18, 2025, in a 12-bed mixed dorm. The experience was mostly positive.
✅ Pros:
The location is excellent — just a 5-minute walk from the metro, which made it easy to get around.
If you have an early flight (like mine at 08:30), this is a good place to stay as you can easily reach the airport in time.
The dorm, bathrooms, and common areas were all neat and clean.
Wi-Fi worked well throughout my stay.
The staff was friendly and spoke good English.
Definitely value for money.
⚠️ Cons:
The check-in time listed in my confirmation email was 14:00, but they didn’t allow check-in until 15:00. This was a bit inconvenient.
Breakfast was not included in the booking.
Overall, it’s a decent and budget-friendly option in a central area, especially for solo or budget travellers. I would recommend it for short stays.
GGuest UserThis was by far the best hostel I stayed at, and also the cheapest! It's a large operation, run with ruthless Catholic discipline. It's very clean, very ordered, very comfortable. Compared to other hostels as well it does not run a catchpenny operation - linen is free, breakfast is free, luggage storage is free, etc. All these things are used by other hostels to up to double the cost of your stay. The staff were very pleasant, and spoke English. One night there was a customer who was unruly - refused to turn their light off at about 3am - the staff came, remonstrated with him, and eventually (he wouldn't relent) told him to leave the hostel. In other hostels you would be left to suffer the tyranny of an ignorant customer. Booking is understandably very tight - book early and for your whole stay. After a disastrous previous hostel in Rome, this was a necessary restoration of my faith in travelling.
