First off, the location is super convenient. It's about a 15-minute walk from the airport to the BSI bus terminal, right behind the church. I booked a single room on the 4th floor, directly facing the kitchen, but it wasn't noisy at all; everyone was very considerate about keeping their voices down in the common areas. Having a kitchen was a lifesaver, especially during Christmas when many restaurants were closed. The groceries I bought beforehand at the 'Little Pig' supermarket truly saved me. Overall, it was clean and hygienic, and there were plenty of shared bathrooms and toilets, so they were always available.

To my surprise, the time to access the locker is only from 9am onwards!!! (only when the staff is at the reception). My plan was to put my luggage into the locker and I have to catch a morning bus at 7am the next day!! Next time please design the lockers in a way such that it is accessible 24/7 😅😅 Anyways, I still figured out a way - which is to walk to the bus terminal to leave my luggage at the lockers. KEX Hostel in Reykjavík is a great place to stay, especially for budget travelers and friends exploring the city together. Rooms and facilities are generally clean and functional, though they can feel a bit basic and sometimes noisy due to the hostel’s popular and central setting. A special highlight of your stay is being able to see the northern lights from outside the hostel, which is a memorable experience and shows how good the location is near the waterfront. Overall, KEX offers good value, a fun vibe, and a prime location for enjoying Reykjavík.

Fantastic location. We stayed for three nights, they provide towels, bath shampoo and hangers in room. There are side table and chairs. The common kitchen is well equipped and there are so clean. Some traveller bought food to prepare breakfast and dinner. It's so convinient to walk to city. Recommend for team building and school camp.

The staff of the Hostel are very responsible to solve problems for the guests. There are washing machines and dryers, and the charges are reasonable. ISK2000 is cheaper than some hostels, but the location is a bit far away from the city, and it may be inconvenient for those without a car. There is a very comfortable common area. There is also a hairdryer in the common area, so you don't have to worry about making noise to other guests at night.

I didn't make a reservation personally, but I couldn't get an email from the owner, who said self-check-in, and after another guest opened the door, I called the owner and went in. Open the part with the room number attached to each room and press the off-time key. When you check out, you can leave it in it. The entrance is not the front door, but the second floor of the next staircase. The underground luggage storage room is You have to go back to the building, not next to it. It was nice to be close to the city center and the museums

The environment is good and the whole is very clean; there is a kitchen to buy food and cook, because Iceland is very expensive, many Europeans cook by themselves; the drawback is that there is no staff, and no one responds to the email; the first floor is a bar restaurant.
