The hostel is really close to Kyoto Station, about a five-minute walk, and there are supermarkets, malls, and plenty of restaurants nearby. They have check-in guides in Chinese, the entire hostel feels quite new, it's clean and tidy, and there's an elevator. The common area even has a Nintendo Switch. Plus, you can store your luggage for free after check-out.
The location was great because Kiyomizu Ji Temple, Kodai Ji Temple and Kennin Ji Temple were very close and I could walk from the morning!
The room is very fashionable and recommended for couples.
However, there is a difficulty, the wall is very thin, and the conversation in the next room can be heard clearly.
As for amenities, you need to buy or bring in because there are no toothbrushes, hand soaps, pajamas, etc.
It is very satisfying to see it as a private room dormitory!
However, I thought that I wanted a laundry space if I treated the dormitory, and the facilities are this evaluation.

Good location, walkable to metro station and some tourist attractions. Provides shoe rack and slippers to change upon entering, has lift to access all floors. Shared kitchen and common area is spacious and comfortable, provides kitchenware, stove, cutleries, coffee and tea. Toilets and bathroom are clean and equipped with hairdryer. There is storage under bunk bed but need to prepare your own lock and key. Has airconditioning in the room. Paid washer and dryer available.

1. The price is cheap, but the location is good.
2. There was a musty smell as soon as we entered. Even though it was new in 2025, it's probably because the house hasn't been properly renovated.
3. There are no slippers in the shoe-off area.
4. There is no disinfectant liquid in the restroom, and everyone has to share a pair of slippers when taking off shoes.
5. There is only one towel for the floor mat when entering the bathroom. It's not changed for each person, and there is no diatomaceous earth mat either.
6. The non-stick coating of the pot in the kitchen has peeled off.
7. The paint on a pair of chopsticks is chipped and peeling.
8. It looks like only one sponge is used for washing dishes & kitchen sink (since there's only one sponge available).

I really loved this place. It felt super cosy, I was looking to stay in a traditional Japanese house and this scratched the itch. Check-in is not too confusing, you just follow the instructions provided. Yukatas available to rent. My room was very clean, and I didn't have any problems with noise. Location is good, near two bus stops and a 15min walk from Kyoto Railway station. A highlight is the public bath nearby - highly recommend going!!!

This hostel in Kyoto that only accepts girls is the first stop of my solo trip to Kansai. I stayed here for 6 consecutive nights. The B&B is located between Sanjo and Shijo, near Kawaramachi Nishiki Market, and is within walking distance. It is close to the subway, bus station, Hankyu Line and Keihan Line. There are 7-Eleven convenience stores and various restaurants around, making travel and shopping very convenient.
This is a warm and cozy B&B with a very human touch, run by a warm and friendly young Japanese couple who can speak a little Chinese! There is also a young girl from Taiwan working in the store, she is friendly and cute. I would like to give a super five-star praise. This place is not only clean and comfortable by Japanese standards, but also considers the details of the guests everywhere. The public toilet shower room is fully equipped with toiletries. There is free coffee and ice cubes in the public lounge area on the first floor. , hot water, various tea bags and snacks, a leg massager, and various Kyoto travel brochures and materials. There is a refrigerator and a microwave. The homestay has two floors and can accommodate 12 travelers. There is a shower room and two toilets on the first and second floors respectively.
Because I stayed for 6 consecutive nights, the landlady changed my bedding once, and I could use bath towels and shower towels for free every day. I had a wonderful and unforgettable trip in Kyoto! If I visit again, I will still choose to stay here.

Convenient stay: convenient, good attitude
Safe: Traveling alone is safe
Facilities: comprehensive, there is a family kitchen underneath, the atmosphere is very good
Environment: clean
This is a very unique hotel. It has no central heating, making it impossible to sleep in the evenings and at night. There's air conditioning, which is supposed to replace the heating, but it's not up to the task. One downside is that the toilet and sink are located outside. Washing up in the morning requires all the strength you need to go outside in November in light clothing and wash your face with cold water. I didn't book food at this hotel, although they served watery rice porridge in the morning, which we ate reluctantly. One positive is that the building is 100 years old, making it truly the most traditional accommodation available at a low cost. However, be prepared to pay for ALL necessary services and amenities. Towels and face towels are extra, as are dental supplies. I definitely won't be returning to this hotel again when visiting Kyoto.
It's a 6-minute walk from Demachiyanagi Station, and there are convenience stores and supermarkets nearby, so it's a good location.
There is a kitchen in the shared space on the second floor, which is very convenient for those who want to cook for themselves. There are also free drinks, manga, and books.
The third floor is a dormitory space, and it is air-conditioned and clean, but in the case of mixed-gender accommodation, the upper bunk beds are not completely separated, so there is no privacy, which is a bit tough, especially for women. The lower bunk beds have curtains that can be closed, so I think they're fine...
There are showers and toilets on both the second and third floors. It's good when it's not crowded, but if it's crowded, it may be a hassle to wait in line.
There is a curfew, and you can't go out until 6:00 in the morning, so it may be a bit inconvenient for those who want to go out early in the morning.
This hotel is incredibly close to Kiyomizu-dera Temple. The front desk staff and service team were all very friendly and helpful. The room was spotless, and there's a bus stop just a few steps from the entrance, making it super convenient for getting to the subway station or other attractions. What's even better is how unbelievably affordable it is. Even with extras like towels and a toothbrush, it only came out to about 65 RMB. Truly a great deal and so convenient!

KKyoto GodFUGA STAY, true to the meaning of its name “fuga” (elegance and serenity), is a refined and peaceful hideaway tucked within the heart of Kyoto.
I personally love hotels that are hidden away from the main road yet still extremely convenient—just a 3 to 5-minute walk from Omiya Subway Station and numerous Kyoto city bus stops.
If you’re into cycling or using e-scooters, there’s a Luup rental station right in front of the hotel.
The room is spacious and very comfortable for a solo traveler. It comes with two double beds that you can easily move together to form a super king-size bed. The bathroom is also large, with no sense of tightness.
The front desk staff speaks Japanese and Chinese, so communication is smooth and easy.
Honestly, I’m hesitant to praise FUGA too much—if too many people discover it, the price might go up!
P.S. Just around the corner is Tendō Shrine, only a 2-minute walk away. It felt like a beautiful encounter by fate.
FUGA STAY
FUGA STAY,
CcqwzljrI really like this place. It’s my first time to travel to Japan alone. I stayed in Osaka the night before, and I stayed here when I came to Kyoto. I saw it recommended by others before, even though my Japanese is very poor. Fortunately, I can communicate in English. The lady who checked me in was very patient and took me inside to explain the area to me. When I checked out in the morning, my uncle was very enthusiastic and even called the dog out. I was actually completely I booked this hotel because I was attracted by dogs... I was so pleasantly surprised, and then I successfully took a photo with the dog! (It was resting when I came the night before. It had its own name, but I forgot it😂) I really like it, and there is a path nearby where you can walk to Kiyomizudera Temple. There are few people at night and the scenery is beautiful. It is really a special time. An unforgettable and wonderful experience! Thank you to everyone I met!

MMelany JiangThe room was very clean. The Japanese-style single room facing the street was quite noisy, so on the second day, I paid the difference to switch to a family room, which was very quiet. Across from the hotel is a large supermarket, which makes shopping very convenient. The room comes with a kitchen, and there are pots, pans, and dishes available, so you can cook your own meals. If there are two or more people, I recommend choosing the family room. If you're traveling alone, I suggest not staying at this hotel, as the Japanese-style single room faces the street and the traffic at night is really loud.
LLeben.WanThe hotel's facilities are quite good, though the only minor drawback might be the poor soundproofing. There's a bus stop right in front of the hotel, offering convenient access to major attractions in Kyoto. The subway station is about a 20-minute walk away. As for the amenities, the hotel is well-equipped with individual shower rooms and toilets on each floor. The washing machine and lounge area are located on the fifth floor. Please note that the hotel does not have an elevator. If you have large luggage, you can inform the front desk to arrange a room on a lower floor.

GGuest User-Good location
-Very cozy and family-friendly place.
-It has a fully equipped kitchen: refrigerator, microwave, oven, everything.
-Free tea and coffee are provided, and very good.
-The owner is very polite, attentive, and will help you with anything you need.
-I appreciate all the help she gave me.
-If I return to Kyoto, I would stay here again.
GGuest UserIt's similar to a Japanese economy hotel. It's quite small. It's very close to JR Nijo Station, and you can see it when you get out of the station. It is also very close to the subway station. There is a bakery, restaurant, and convenience store at the door, which is super convenient. This station is also beautiful, with cherry trees at the entrance of the station. Close to Nijo Castle, about 10 minutes on foot to Nijo Castle.
